  • In this video, I dive deep into the world of AI tools and how they can transform data analysis. AI has become an essential part of data science, helping us extract meaningful insights from complex datasets. I decided to test three popular AI tools to find out which one excels in data analysis: Julius AI, Vizly, and the latest version of ChatGPT.

I started with a public healthcare dataset, which is perfect for evaluating the capabilities of these AI tools. First, I input the data into Julius AI and was impressed by the range of visualizations it produced, such as the distribution of hospital codes and stay lengths. One feature I particularly liked about Julius AI is its self-correcting mechanism, which ensures the analysis remains accurate.
Next, I tested Vizly. This tool also provided insightful visualizations and added a layer of interactivity with its graphs. I could zoom in and out and interact with the data points, which made the analysis more engaging. However, it had some limitations when dealing with more complex, unstructured data.
Finally, I turned to ChatGPT for data analysis. This tool stood out with its ability to create interactive graphs and its thorough analysis plans. One feature that set it apart was its ability to hold metadata in memory and provide a step-by-step breakdown of its analysis process. ChatGPT was also able to confirm its findings by recalculating efficiency, which added an extra layer of reliability to its results.
AI helps in research by making data analysis more efficient and accurate. Whether you're dealing with structured or unstructured data, these AI tools can provide valuable insights that can drive better decision-making.

The logo for Visily is incorrect, the correct name for the tool seems to be Vizly

Dear Andy first another great video! Thank you. Can you make a video about how to interpret qualitative data using AI. I got some transcriptions for my phd thesis. I guess a lot of people have the same problem 🙏

My wife has always admired your videos, as they provide valuable guidance for her work. Your passion and dedication are truly remarkable. She has a few questions regarding the tools you use: Could ChatGPT and Julius potentially replace SPSS for statistical analysis? Additionally, how do you ensure data privacy, given that these tools might use the data to train their systems?

You don't need SPSS or even Julius AI when you have ChatGPT 4o. It does all the rest can do and even more. Get the proper prompt engineering, and you will be ready. This may be the end of the road for proprietary tools like SPSS. I also think Julius AI is too expensive for a subscription.

Can you make a video about conducting metaanalysis with AI? Are any AI tools doing it at the moment?

    • @eniser

I believe that if you collect the data properly and name the columns correctly in an Excel sheet, most common AI platforms (like ChatGPT 4.0, Claude, etc.) can handle the meta-analysis from the Excel file. However, I am not sure if you should use AI just for analyzing at that point.

Thanks for the shoutout to Julius! I'm Rahul, founder of Julius. Julius now also supports R besides Python. So if you struggle with R Studio, Julius will do the statistical analysis in R for you 😄 📊
Julius knows how to use ggplot2, tidyverse and all other popular R libraries

They are all far from being able to do a proper high research level analysis. What you were doing was fairly exploratory. Next time try asking the AI to perform a multivariate analysis or explore multiple generalized regression models. None will be able to do it quicker than a well trained analyst.

Jullius has the option in its paid model of using ChatGPT, Claude and/or Opus. So why have the middleman ? Just stick with ChatGPT.
