Hello from Ohio I used to pick it all the time and chew on the leaves and I also used to boil the roots and leaves and make different stuff from the juice or syrup i also used to soak my artificial lures in it and the fish would go nuts after it
I noticed all the singing birds. I have one here that says " peek a chew...peek a chew" I've googled it but can't find it. Any idea what it is? I never can see it,seems like its always up in the trees. Tbanks for any info you have.
Thanks Cliff for taking the time on this series to inform us. All the free food in the woods I've been missing out on. On the other hand I've never been deathly sick from eating plants found in/from the woods either. Guess it balances out. 😵😵💫One never knows what they may be allergic to so one needs to use extreme caution.. I have taken medication for the flu/common cold that has a list of things, that if you are allergic to them, do not use/take the medication. Funny thing is that list usually lists 28 things I never even heard of.😝😝😝😝
That was very interesting. I was wondering if you could use those seed pods like one would use the traditional Star Anise for baking ( Anise cookies) or to make the famous Anisette liqueur?
Hello cliff great video that plant is interesting that right about the plant helping with sore throat there's a cough drop Smith Brothers for sore throat which tastes like licorice I wonder if you could use it to make sausage Italian sausage has licorice in it love from upstate New York❤😊
I have just been eating the flowers and young stems before this! I didn't know you could eat the roots or leaves! Cool!

Great video Cliff!
Hogweed is phototoxic if you get the juice on you. If you boil it for a few minutes it's delicious and safe.
