exactly my thoughts. they *can* live in a 2.5 gallon, but in that same train of thought, YOU *can* live in a closet your entire life. same thing. don’t do it.
My friend wanted me to help her pick out a setup and fish for her 10 gallon tank. She had her eye on the goldfish, but I explained they get big, too big, and poop alot. She decided to get a Betta which is perfect. It is such a joy to see a Betta in his own 10 gallon aquarium.

When I started out keeping betta, I was biased towards males because of their appearance. But as the time went by and I learned more and more about them, I found out that females are real angels. They tend to interact with me more and one of my girls even let me pet her. No hate towards males, they are just harder to train and I love all of them. I just want to encourage you guys to give a chance of buying a female betta and have some time with her. You will be obsessed with her too.
With my very limited betta experience, I was biased towards females, thinking I didn't want to keep a fish by itself and that the females are more docile and will more easily accept tank mates. Not necessarily true! I have a Fluval Flex 15; plenty big for a betta and some small peaceful fish. I had two platys in it, and added the female betta. Within an hour she "claimed" the entire aquarium and was constantly chasing the platys. The next morning, one of the two platys was dead. I returned the female and bought another like her. Within an hour she was doing the same thing. (I took her back immediately.) My point is that fish have personalities, and some females can be as aggressive as the males are supposed to be.
Just got my 1st tank and only two weeks into it, 14.5gal tank with one male beta and some live plants, super friendly and has lots of character been basically petting him since the day I put him in the tank he’s been in there for a week now. I learned something new in your comment though I didn’t know that about males vs females yet! Excited for new the fish journey I’m hooked
Why does anyone buy such a relatively expensive fish, a gorgeous fish with gorgeous fins, and then put him in a tank that's too small for him to swim? It's mesmerizing watching Cosmo swim all around his planted 10-gallon tank. They love to swim.
To make matters worse, they also have just bought one of the smartest aquarium fish around.... and one of the few that are known for being capable of bonding to individual people. That's the fish they choose to purposely abuse... The one that actually wants to be with people and can tell thier owners apart from everybody else. Why?!? 😰
Agreed, no matter the size of tank so far, betta swims the entire tank in seconds. They want to swim and play which smaller tanks just don't offer. Started with 5 gallon now up to 29 planted and he does laps.
Yeah I don't understand that sentiment either. Any animal can need medication, special treatment, maybe special food or whatever. Bottomline is, if you get a living animal unexpected costs will happen. If you cannot even afford a 5 gallon tank, don't get an animal. It's not like the tank will be the main expense anyways.
i have never thought of it that way. that’s very eye opening. i’m a groomer at a pet store and even though i see the prices, that never even occurred to me lol. btw, i’m obsessed with mine. he’s such an awesome pet 🥰 the only problem is i want MORE lol because i get to see all the new ones come in before they get sold. last week two absolutely gorgeous ones came in. i wanted them so badly but i’ll just keep my one boy ❤️
I have a Betta name Bartholomew living with 11 neon tetras. Not only does he not attack them, but he will actually school with them. Also, we've seen him herd the neons towards food... ...almost like he's helping to feed them.
I have a betta sorority. I had one bully and she now lives with my mollies and she doesn’t bother them...she actually swims around like she’s one of them 💕
I LOVE having a male beta in my community tanks. I had one beta in a tank with many types of fish, including a tiger barb. The barb loved chasing the fish with long fins and I wasn't sure what to do about it. When I began considering returning the barb to the store I noticed a new behavior from my male beta. When the barb started chasing the other fish, my beta would swim right in front of the barb and flare up in a fighting pose. The beta would back the barb into a corner of the tank, without touching it at all, and keep it there for a minute or so. Then the beta would swim back to his favorite place in a plant at the top of the tank. The barb would leave the corner and start chasing a fish again. Immediately the beta put the barb back in time out. This would happen a few times more, with greater time passing before the barb started chasing again. The beta never hurt the barb, but was not going to allow it to bully the other fish. It took nearly a week, with the barb chasing the fish less and less often, but the barb finally stopped chasing the other fish entirely! We named the beta Sentinel because he was the guardian of the tank. 😄
I had a few neon tetras in my tank before I got my betta (to get the bacteria in the filter going) and he ate the tail off one of the tetras... Safe to say he lost his tank buddies quite quickly (they were moved back into my mother's tank where they're thriving without having tails chewed off.)
My male betta has his own 10 gallon tank with a heater and a sponge filter. My female is in my planted 29 gallon small community tank. She doubled in size in the first two weeks of being in that tank and is a beautiful rich blue color. Years ago I bred my bettas and ended up with a sorority of sisters, and a bunch of small separate tanks for the males. I stopped breeding them because I ran out of space for tanks for the male babies!
Another myth: Bettas are just dumb fish. The truth: They are actually one of the smartest aquarium fish species around! They are highly trainable and can be taught all kinds of tricks such as jumping for a treat, jumping through hoops, swimming onto platforms (or flat leaves) on command, following your finger, flaring on your command, and even responding to thier own name! Another incredible ability that shows thier intelligence is thier ability to form unique bonds to individual people. They are also very playful and can play with toys, even sharing them with thier owners if taught correctly. They are also much more emotionally complex than most fish species and can experience true frustration and depression. Unfortunately, this often leads to deliberate self-harm such as fin biting.
Yep! My boy always swims closer to the glass to greet me when i enter the room, he also knows how to jump for food, swim through a loop and follow my finger 🥰
@@siobhan5214 There's a lot of options... Print-free ping pong balls of various colors (and even sizes if you can somehow find miniature ones), various sizes of plastic rings with no sharp edges (if it can cut pantyhose, it's too sharp), fluval "moss balls" (these are fluffier than ping pong balls), toy floaty logs, flat fish-safe leaves (might not sound like a toy.. but bettas definitely play with them), and even betta "hamocks". Keep in mind that like all intelligent pets, different bettas will prefer different toys or different play time lengths. Occasionally, you may find one that doesn't want the extra stimulation at all. Keep an eye out for stress siginals like sudden faded color, stress stripes, excessive flaring, hard bitting (not little nips), and general avoidance. Obviously, if your betta shows any of these signs you should stop for a while. If your betta reacts the same way to that toy multiple times over then it's probably not a good option for them.
Bettas are my favourite fish. They have such personalities and I love them so much. I currently have a female named Astra and she's so sweet and active. I love watching her swim around and look for food. I purposely give her extra food that she can look for throughout the day
8:40 Totally agree! When getting my first betta the females didn’t come to my attention at all. But when I recently went to get another betta the females where so pretty and I couldn’t resist! I can’t believe I overlooked them back then, they’re such beautiful fish. More peaceful in my (very limited) experience.
I got back into fishkeeping (namely betta keeping!) after a 5+ year hiatus and I'm _so_ happy to be back. I currently only have one boi named Edwin but I love him so much. He was the saddest little betta in Petco. He had one dorsal clamped to his side, had signs of finrot, and didn't want to move. After a few months of TLC, he's now an amazing little guy! He's so active despite his delta tail and is so personable! His dorsal is nearly healed up though the original silk plants I had in his tank decided to eat his tail. Thankfully, it's starting to grow back! I want to get one of the fancier betta types but I need to wait to save up for another 10g tank then cycle it. I'm a dedicated betta keeper and I refuse to keep them in anything less than 10g personally. I did keep Edwin in a 2.5g for a couple weeks while my 10g cycled, but it was just temporary. I didn't want to do a fish-in cycle since he was already so stressed out. I think that doing a fish-in would've killed him.
My bettas came from Craigslist, Kijiji, etc. Two came from the same household, where the 2 little boys had lost interest because they had gotten kittens. They were in tiny little tanks (but with a teeny built in filter at least) with decorations that took up half the space, and sooo many leftover pellets on the floor of the tanks, that I don't understand how they'd managed to stay alive. It was so delightful to see them move into a divided 10 gallon planted tank. 💙💜❤
Cycling a 75 gallon now for my Betta! Just ordered some ammonia from ya'll and it just arrived! Got the tank spiked and live bacteria introduced! Got a bunch of plants 🪴 ready to plant once cycled. He'll have an awesome home when it's done! Love the videos and all the information ya'll share! My wife and I really appreciate it!
My roommate bought me a betta last summer, after I had previously mentioned once that if I *were* ever to get a fish, it would be a betta. I was completely unprepared to own one! I had to use all her old things from when she had a fish, I didn't have a single thing for him. I had absolutely no knowledge of bettas whatsoever. I found your channel and your videos taught me how to take care of him and give him the best life I could. It's a year later and he's moved to a nice new 5 gallon with a bunch of great decorations and he's very happy. Thank you so much for teaching me how to take care of Cedric - I really do owe you credit
I've only had bettas for two months and I knew that because..research! Really though. It only takes two minutes to get these important facts that could keep your betta alive
Love the new format! So glad I found your channel in recent months. You helped me save my beta and improve my general fish keeping knowledge. I got my beta in a 10 gallon planted tank with snails and rosboras and he’s loving life!
I love the true or false new to the hobby only 2 months in small rack set up...waiting on one tank to cycle for blue dream velvet shrimp...2 ten gallons and 1 55 (community tank) up top...nothing compared to ur guys amazing set ups and that Oscar and arrow combo perfect I'd love to see more feeding videos on that one :)
I just got a new male betta because me last one died I loved him so much he was spoiled he got everything that he wanted he was always moving he never stopped what happened is we went camping and when we can back he was well dead i when I saw that he was dead I fell to the ground I and screamed and he had a funeral I still miss him rip baby
My 1 male Betta is in 20 gallon aquarium with live plants and hang on back filter and heater and I do weekly water changes and he is super happy I love Betta they are cute
I never knew they could be so interactive until I got Martok, my little wet buddy. He sometimes enjoys a few head pats after his dinner. Loves to get all up in the way during tank maintenance. He’s not much for flaring, mirrors and bright colors freak him out 😆
Just a tip, petco does fish tanks $1 a gallon(sometimes, yay sales!). I got my 10 gallon tank for..... yup you guessed it $10!!! What a deal, my betta Derp loves it 😁
I couldn't agree more with everything!! Great video guys!! I'm glad you're not a child like John, Lisa 😂😂❤️ It's okay John we still love you 😂😂🤗 A friend sent me a new pair and I have a new Candy Koi Plaket female and oh my goodness, Lisa you would love her she outshines them all 😍💗 Thank you guys for putting this together and sharing!! I hope you all are having a blessed weekend!!🙏🌿🐟🌿💚
I love Bettas. Sad to say, we just lost one of ours the other day. We got it from KeepFishKeeping a few months ago and he was great. Still not sure what went wrong, but he was slowly getting sicker everyday. We moved him to a quarantine tank and tried to medicate it and use some aquarium salt. Sadly, he didn't make it. What worries me is getting another Betta and something going wrong again since we still don't know what caused this ones death.
I really like the finnage on the males, but the females of some types can have the exact same colors/markings, and also have some gorgeous finnage in their own rights 🤷🏼♀️ But, if I understand fin rot correctly, aren't the fluffy male fins more at risk for fin rot since they are "more likely" to get whacked on fake plants? I'm loving watching and catching up with your videos!! They've been *super* helpful since there seems to be a lot more to fishkeeping than I remember from my Black Molly tank back in third grade 😆 So far I've narrowed things down (for my tank; my Hubby is going to need to get his own 😂😍) to one of three tank sizes plus a quarantine tank, one of two single centerpiece fish, at least one of three schooling fish species, and for bottom-dwellers/algae-eaters, I like one of three fish and/or one of two snails 🤔 Thank y'all so much for the great content!!
9:36 Single male betas I have had in the past would flare up randomly. I think they could see their reflections. Is this bad and stressful for them as well? Any advice on how to minimize reflections in the tank?
One of the very nice things about bettas being able to breath air is if they jump out of the tank, you have some time to find them and get them back in. Most fish will expire very quickly out of the tank, but I had one that jumped out and I can't even be entirely sure how long he was on the floor, but maybe 10 to 15 minutes, before I saw it and got him back in the tank? That was one year ago and he's still with me now :) Obviously, they jump out of the tank for a reason, so you better figure out what was wrong (in my case, the pH was too high) and fix it ASAP, but at least you have some time to find and recover your betta, unlike most fish.
Yay! I got them all right, and I can honestly say if it hadn't been for mostly you two wonderful people (mostly Lisa with this one) I would have bought some of the B.S. they were selling about Bettas. Thanks for teaching me and many others the humane way of taking care of my Bettas!😊
I have 3 currently, all of which were picked up from people from Craigslist, Kijiji, etc. Have had as many as 6 at one time. Now that I've moved, and with COVID a bit better under control, I can start keeping an eye out for more who need a new home and tank upgrade. 😁
Greeting, I have 4 female and 2 male bettas in my aquarium, along with 40 other fish of different species... tetras, sharks, rainbows, hockey pike, angelfish and many others... I put everything periodically in the aquarium and observed how they behave with each other... the only fish that did not tolerate so many species was the serpa... I removed them... all the others get along great including the 2 male bettas... one all white and one all black... real ying yang :-) The possible reason for the good behavior is the many plants, caves and every 45 minutes the wavemaker works for 15 minutes so that everyone can exercise a bit. I am very happy with my aquarium and to sit in front of it and watch it all work together is a fantasy in the water. I send greetings to everyone.
Got them all right but I know I wouldn’t have without all your betta videos :) I love these little betta fishies, I hope one day to have a sorority tank, but I won’t be doing it until I’m sure I’m ready
I had a Betta in a tank near a room heater and I noticed after about 9-10 months the tank heater never came on and the water temperature was fairly consistent between 77 and 80 degrees (occasionally it went a little higher in summer). I took out the aquarium heater and he lived happily for another 3 years. So I think they can live without a heater in the right spot in your house IF you keep an eye on temperature and it's fairly consistent, which we should anyway as aquarium heaters fail all the time, I just had one stick on and kill some fish and I've only had it 6 months.
My house was really warm and I was loosing a lot of water to evaporation and so I unplugged my heater. Within 5 hours it got way to cold. Luckily he was ok and I plugged it back in and just resorted to more water changes then I did before
@@somegirlswill i have one that came with it. It’s the Aqueon 7.5 gallon shrimp kit that I used. There’s a gap in the back that is kinda big which is the problem I think
I am lucky to have a 10 gallon tank fir each of my 3 bettas. The male is in the middle tank. My water tunnels made from pvc (one water flow system) was large enough for them to go and visit...oops. had to make everyone go home and put a screen door on the tunnels. Love this series.
i have two Betta Males. one halfmoon in a 8 gallon tank. and a Koi Galaxy male in a 18 Gallon tank. i love the different karactors of them. greats from the Netherlands 🐟
My bedroom is also my reptile/fish room, and is so because it only has one exterior wall and window. It's the warmest room in the entire house. I also happen to have a blackout curtain on that window. So, that room WOULD normally be in total darkness. A couple of the lights are on timers though, and I like to moderate the fish lights myself- for the sake of algae, the health of the fish, and the health of the plants. But there's still a room light I can turn on, and the bearded dragon enclosure in particular throws a lot of ambient light, so my fish are never in total darkness for more than the 10 hour night cycle I have the timers on.
Hey guys, i just wanted to say hi from Ireland 🇮🇪🍀 and say i have to say thanks to you i have fallen in love with Betta fish i have 1 Male Splendid betta called Atilla in 57L Fluval flex and 1 Female Betta called Boudicca in my community tank.. The female betta is a brilliant fish, just watching the way she swims and at times shalks her tank mates. She doesn't do anything, but it is cool to watch.
My bucket list tank is a basement filled with water with a cownose ray in it, but my 2nd bucket list tank is a 200 gallon tank that's 6" deep for betas
Silly question but I have to know, should you wash your hands before, and in between cleaning and maintaining your fish tank. I have two bettas and I do this every time. Before, during, and after working and maintaining the tank
I think that's a good idea for hygiene, but bear in mind that soap is not good for fish. So make sure to rinse your hands off thoroughly after washing them.
Believe it or not, one of the first fish which was bred in an community aquarium when I first started in this hobby. In fact two different pairs, blue and red at different times. The feeding was of live black worms and the tank had just one air stone and was not planted!!
I'm upgrading from 16 gallons to 45 gallon for my birthday soon and I can't wait. Never had one of these species so find this so interesting. Also love your videos from the 🇬🇧💙
@@MFarid92 I started this hobby in January with a 5 gallon. Within two months, I had a 16 gallon and getting a 45 in May. Hmm at what size am I going to be next year 🤣 My 5 gallon is my cherry shrimp haven and I got babies yesterday.. I find myself watching my fish more than my TV!
@@STE.B it's not that difficult though, but make sure you do your research and provide the extra tanks for the babies. It's gonna be a lot of em'! The problem is for me right now, I gotta find brine shrimp somewhere, it's for the fry.
I saw a vid of a girl with a 30gal heavily planted tank with 4-5 males and a few females. She said they never fought, no issues ever. Likely because they were far more happy to just swim away into the greenary than fight.
I have 4 male bettas, two females bettas, 5 gold fish, 10+ neon fish, numerous shrimps and 2 plecos in one planted tank. I've had them for months now. The only death counted was during the first introduction of the fishes into the tank.
I've had a male and multiple female bettas together in a tank before. What size do you run? I've always been interested in what you actually would need to keep multiple males together
I have one question about Betta fish. My new little pal is very active and sprints out to say hi every time i go near him. Q sometimes he rests at the bottom of the tank so is he just taking a rest as this is a new planted tank as I am waiting for the new plants to grow giving hime more cover. PS. U are right he is like a little puppy dog very inquisitive and seems to love his new home (day 2) am I worry ing toooo much LOL. He is called Velvet as he is a dark blue velvet colour and i spoted him and just had to take him home.
One of the super frustrating things in the fish keeping hobby, and mostly with betta keeping, for me is how no matter the facts and research thrown out there is always one person that has to tell you about this ONE TIME LONG AGO that they proved the facts wrong and therefore will keep trying to do it like that. Things like "One time in the 60s my dad had two male bettas together and I don't remember them fighting so therefore the fact about them fighting is untrue".
My dwarf gourami turned blue and black and stayed at the corner of the tank and would freeze in and out of life and then be normal and then back to freezing. Did it for a couple days. Used general cure from API and also used super ick from API. Nothing helped. He passed an hour ago.
Well I only got 1 wrong. I did not know until now that Beta fish could breathe air. I got my guy in a 20 gallon with a few Rasboras and a couple Cory. His name is zoom zoom (my granddaughter named him💕) I believe he is a very happy fella as far as I can tell anyways. He always comes up to me and if I put my finger in the water he swims around it and rubs against it ❤️
kinda agree to disagree to the last question. Yes they can get stress out if they see each other for beginning but for how long? Its kinda like if they must be a 5 gallon or larger. It is a fact that many breeder use glass jar to form betta when they are 2-3 months old for weels or month before they are going to sell, that without any card in between. It is a good reason to keep them good form, size and no broken fin. One reason why use card is when they se each other they ll flare up and some even may color up to, specially wild betta. Flaring is a demand/request for show betta. Ask your breeder
Hey hey hey great video till the end. No story telling! Not gonna happen we know better!...You love your fish too much to let that happen, Love the true/false format. And like some people we could name I too love the female Betta. I get to keep more than 1 in a tank. Got some plain little calico's a few years ago. By the time they were full grown they were Beautiful fish. Thank you for sharing.
I just discovered and started following you guys and I need some advice if you have a sec. I want to start a 10 gallon tank with a male betta and would like to add neon tetras and maybe otocinclus and/or corydoras. Was wondering how many of each I could have and not overload my tank. Wouldn't mind a couple dwarf frogs too. Any advice?
Saving up to get a 10 gallon for my male betta - he is in a 5 gallon now with lots of plants, but he seems bored. There are two cherry shrimp and a nerite in there along with a female guppy. They all get along well, but they need a bigger tank. Anyone have any tips to entertain the betta while I save up for the 10g?
Love your videos I have a 180 gal community tank with 3 males so far and 12 females the males don't fight when they do come in contact with one another one will flar and then they just swim away from each other .
i got a male black copper crown tail and a female veil tail blue and am hoping to bread them this is the first time i heard then dont need light but ambiant light fromt the room !!!! please more bread tips. also being a hobbiest i keep my betta in a 5 gal each but do realize i only need to introduce the betta in 3.5 with divider in between them and slowly removing then tell the betta stop attacking at each other then introduce them to the breader tank for a short time as they do they spawn dance and drop eggs!. more trick and tip lets go
I have a 20 gallon I just emptied to upgrade and was thinking of housing 2 bettas in it. My question is if they make a divider I could put in the tank to keep them separate and so they don't see each other. Also would I need a filter and heater for both sides? Thanks
I have a male betta that keeps glass surfing on the right side of the tank. It’s a planted tank so I can’t keep the lights off for long. Should I just let it go and let my betta get used to it’s reflection, or should I do something?
My betta fish is in a 20 gallon tank, but I am moving to a college dorm in the fall. Would it be wrong to move my fish into a 5 gallon tank? Or even a 10. I just won't have as much space. I only have one fish and I really want to take her with me. She is my only pet and means a lot so I don't want to put her in something that will make her unhappy.
Great idea to take her with you - that way you don't have to rely on someone else to care for her either. She might find it hard to go from a 20 to a 5, but a 10 shouldn't be a shocking transition, and my guess is that you'll appreciate having the bigger tank, in terms of the stability of the tank parameters. Good luck!
the only thing I had wrong was the light thing. But since its extremely common in germany to have life planted tanks I just assumed that it was for the plants and the fishes. Even our petstores will have planted tanks... not aquascaped but planted. You dont see a lot of plastic plants on the shelfs, maybe 3 or 4 for the people that prefer them.
I have a question hoe many Oscar's would you put in a 300 gal detentions are 96x30x24 and I plan on keeping a Pleco, 2 Blue Acaras, and 2 Firemouth Chichlids (BTW I'm an experienced fish keeper but I've never had a tank this big)
I was super lucky. I had a 40g tank with three male and five female Bettas. Also live plants and a ton of guppies.... the breeding never stopped! lol The male Bettas never fought each other. They were sweet hearts, come feeding time, all three would come up at the same time. Why did I have three males in one tank? I was told if you had 10-15g's per male along with their own territory to claim and enough females, they wouldn't bother each other. Some say it worked, others said it doesn't... Well, it worked for me. For over two years my tank was awesome, I could sit and watch all the fish swim for hours. Then my tank "got sick." Fish were dying and I couldn't find out why... Lost everything, devastating! Pretty much took me out of the hobby. Still sucks to think about.

Very true all 5 of my girls love being interacted with. My male likes to be left alone lol which is fine
I have a sorority with around 20 females, and absolutely love it. I have a few videos posted, feel free to check them out.
@@ucallmeschnitzel Not only that, but some of these small, customized "betta tanks" cost more than a standard 5 gallon aquarium.
i have never thought of it that way. that’s very eye opening. i’m a groomer at a pet store and even though i see the prices, that never even occurred to me lol. btw, i’m obsessed with mine. he’s such an awesome pet 🥰 the only problem is i want MORE lol because i get to see all the new ones come in before they get sold. last week two absolutely gorgeous ones came in. i wanted them so badly but i’ll just keep my one boy ❤️
I have a Betta name Bartholomew living with 11 neon tetras. Not only does he not attack them, but he will actually school with them. Also, we've seen him herd the neons towards food... ...almost like he's helping to feed them.
that's cute, I gotta say
Yes, Bettas are fish with personality. That's what I love about them.
@@jbvmpsmtr5488 me too.
My neons don't need to be steered to food. They're too busy stealing my betta's food.
What if u live in a tropical climate
Everyone loves bettas, they’re such a beautiful and personable fish
👍
Yeah the only problem with them is that they always got beef with other fish
Such little critters with massive personalities hehe
Mine murdered everything in sight and needed his own tank. They're all different
Agreed. According to my boyfriend, my Bettas swim out in the open more when they see me and not for him :)
Yep! My boy always swims closer to the glass to greet me when i enter the room, he also knows how to jump for food, swim through a loop and follow my finger 🥰
@@Kay.D.N my betta flares up whenever he sees my dad and it’s hilarious. that little bug hates him :)
What are some good betta toys?😊
Not gonna lie. When I was not in a mentally good place, a betta was there to pull me back out. Definitely will get another one when I can.
Bettas are my favourite fish. They have such personalities and I love them so much. I currently have a female named Astra and she's so sweet and active. I love watching her swim around and look for food. I purposely give her extra food that she can look for throughout the day
“They like to be at 78-80 degrees”
*looks over to my 79 degree tank*
“Perfection”
Oh yes
Got them all right! But I should 'cause I've been keeping bettas for over fifty years. I adore them.
I've only had bettas for two months and I knew that because..research! Really though. It only takes two minutes to get these important facts that could keep your betta alive
50 years is incredible. how many do you think you’ve had in total?
Love the new format! So glad I found your channel in recent months. You helped me save my beta and improve my general fish keeping knowledge. I got my beta in a 10 gallon planted tank with snails and rosboras and he’s loving life!
Thats one lucky betta 😊
Yes, I only turn on my tank lights when I have guests, almost all fish seem to be more relax with ambient/normal room lights
I'm sorry you lost your buddy but, I do hope your new friend will bring you just as much happiness.🙏🙏🙏

What a deal, my betta Derp loves it 😁
I must have gotten two super chill male bettas. I have them in 2 ten gallon tanks next to each other and they've never flared at each other.
I couldn't agree more with everything!!
Great video guys!!
I'm glad you're not a child like John, Lisa 😂😂❤️ It's okay John we still love you 😂😂🤗

Thank you guys for putting this together and sharing!! I hope you all are having a blessed weekend!!🙏🌿🐟🌿💚
Omg the betta at 1:45 is STUNNING, Ive never seen one like it
I love Bettas.
We love this series. True or False? True 🙂
That was one year ago and he's still with me now :)
Obviously, they jump out of the tank for a reason, so you better figure out what was wrong (in my case, the pH was too high) and fix it ASAP, but at least you have some time to find and recover your betta, unlike most fish.
Yay! I got them all right, and I can honestly say if it hadn't been for mostly you two wonderful people (mostly Lisa with this one) I would have bought some of the B.S. they were selling about Bettas. Thanks for teaching me and many others the humane way of taking care of my Bettas!😊
So glad we could help 🥰
love my betta. He's with me for 3 years now. In 10.5 gallon tank
Love to learn a lot new knowledge about bettas as well as other fish, thanks a bunch kgtropicals! Fan from 🇵🇭
Sadly our betta can't float anymore so we make sure he has resting leaves to camp in near the surface of the water.
Better enjoy the time you got with him when they’re in that state it’s too late
Is it swim bladder?? Or is he an old man??
I have 8 of the little monsters, love them, so addictive 😂 if they didn’t need their own tanks I’d have way more
I have 3 currently, all of which were picked up from people from Craigslist, Kijiji, etc. Have had as many as 6 at one time. Now that I've moved, and with COVID a bit better under control, I can start keeping an eye out for more who need a new home and tank upgrade. 😁
Loved this format btw looks super professional and I appreciate all the info it helps a ton!
I adopted a beautiful baby red betta a few days ago and named him Apple. He's gorgeous! I've never seen baby bettas before.
Greeting,
I have 4 female and 2 male bettas in my aquarium, along with 40 other fish of different species... tetras, sharks, rainbows, hockey pike, angelfish and many others...
I put everything periodically in the aquarium and observed how they behave with each other... the only fish that did not tolerate so many species was the serpa... I removed them... all the others get along great including the 2 male bettas... one all white and one all black... real ying yang :-)
The possible reason for the good behavior is the many plants, caves and every 45 minutes the wavemaker works for 15 minutes so that everyone can exercise a bit. I am very happy with my aquarium and to sit in front of it and watch it all work together is a fantasy in the water. I send greetings to everyone.
I agree with Lisa, the females are gorgeous!!! Some day, when I have space for another tank, I want just a female. Just to admire and love!
👍
I keep rescuing bettas from the fish store but I am running out of room for them all 🙈
Got them all right but I know I wouldn’t have without all your betta videos :) I love these little betta fishies, I hope one day to have a sorority tank, but I won’t be doing it until I’m sure I’m ready
The clip of the red and orange male betta was so breathtakingly beautiful!
My house was really warm and I was loosing a lot of water to evaporation and so I unplugged my heater. Within 5 hours it got way to cold. Luckily he was ok and I plugged it back in and just resorted to more water changes then I did before
A lid also helps,
@@somegirlswill i have one that came with it.
I just got my first betta two weeks ago and I have been watching you guys videos and it has taught me a lot … thank you 😊
i have two Betta Males. one halfmoon in a 8 gallon tank. and a Koi Galaxy male in a 18 Gallon tank. i love the different karactors of them.
greats from the Netherlands 🐟
Like the true and false as I do learn some things I may not have known before even if I get the answer right. It fun and draws you in to learn.

I love my betta! he's so personable and fun to watch! I just recentley added tankmates for him and he's loving it!
Great video :) Love the intro sequence; interesting and not too long. Could be slightly shortened for new viewer retention, but I like it!
Just ordered one (a female) off your site. Can't wait till she gets here!
Loving the true or false videos
Thank you Rhiannon 😊
Just popping in to say the Betta i bought from you guys is still doing great ♡ hes got lots of personality
Also love your videos from the 🇬🇧💙
wow. 45 gallon for a betta, your betta is so lucky to have you!

Good luck!
Oh can you use rocks for decorations in tank from your local gardening store or better from a fish store ? Thanks 👍
How many betas can be in a 20 gallon tank? Setting up a new tank
Cool video 😎👍 I have tetra's in my other tank
Wait but Lisa. I thought larger tanks may stress out a betta if it’s too large. Or is it height of the tank that can be a struggle ?
the only thing I had wrong was the light thing.
How would you go about making an all female betta tank ? And how many to what size tank ?
I love your videos, they are so good and informative. :D
John and Lisa I have watched your channel and you Are a inspiration to me
Is 82 F too warm for my betta? For one reason my heater always keeps his tank at a constant 81.5 to 82 F.

Yeah ik calm down I have a 5 gallon Betta tank
Hi, Hoping to get a fish tank soon, can I keep bettas and guppies together?
Could you guys do a video on less common bettas - like the Imbellis and the Mahachai?
