      @@eugene9133 they are actually, they're a species of wild horse. However, their temperament is insane and you should NOT own one. Many zookeepers have died/been put out of commission by zebras because of how powerful they are and how aggressive they are.

    These aren’t true tarpans. Tarpans where a prehistoric zebra like creature which inhabited Britain. These are a semi-domestic relative called konik horses and have been brought to the UK to replace our native tarpans

    • @newwalrus4913
      @newwalrus4913 2 года назад +3

      Tarpan horses came from Russia, and Poland. None have been released in the UK, we have a plethora of feral horses, none are Tarpans.

    • @theotheseaeagle
      @theotheseaeagle 2 года назад +2

      @@newwalrus4913 the tarpan was native to Western Europe as well as Britain, and the southern Swedish uplands. Tarpans are now an extinct species however

    • @newwalrus4913
      @newwalrus4913 2 года назад +1

      I looked for info about the Tarpan being in Britain. The only piece of info I can find is that they may, or may not have been there. If they did they went extinct in the Neolithic period (if we believe said article). The majority of recordings of the Tarpan come from the Steppe region, eastern Europe.
      I can believe you that it may have been in Britain, as we don't know all that much about the Tarpan really, but it sure as hell not being reintroduced to Britain. As I said, we already have a plethora of feral horses and most are endangered.
      The biggest reason it's not being reintroduced is that it is extinct, and there would be no conservation benefit to resurrecting the Tarpan and putting it in Britain.

      Joe Day I found the current ranch of Susan and her husband Donald. There was an article in a Bend, Oregon newspaper that led me to look for them in the town of Princeton, NJ. They have a large ranch where they pasture-raise beef cattle and they appear to be licensed truckers, as well. You can find them by searching for Donald and Susan Ramsay, Princeton, OR. The first hits will be for letters they wrote to Oregon lawmakers which contain their address in both cases.
      They created a Facebook page for their beef ranching business. It hasn’t been updated since 2014 or so. The link is here: facebook.com/pg/Livingood-Ranch-533821313333341/
      You might try contacting the reporter from the Bend Bulletin whose email address is shown at the very end of this video. She might have been informed of any news about the horses’ whereabouts.
