Capacity is 1024 Wh at 120v. That makes it an 85 amp hour battery at 12v. For reference your average car battery is between 40 to 65 amp hours at 12v. I'm not comparing its use to a standard lead acid car battery just giving a point of reference, I will say some cars do have the room for an extra car battery under the hood and its a good cheap addition to have. Most of the time the second battery would be a deeper cycle used fo RVing. The difference is the RV battery is designed to slowly expend its charge and then slowly be recharged unlike a normal car battery that is designed for staying fully charged most of the time but able to dump a lot of charge in a relatively short amount of time if needed. If your vehicle doesn't have room you can buy higher capacity car batteries that will fit in the same space as the original and ones that are more dual purpose and will function more happily as both an RV and starting battery. But again, this is just an additional step to take as well as having a power box. Powerboxs are a wonder in their versatility and convenience.
Neat. I need one. But the rear subframe on my Ford Mondeo estate (perfect car camping option) is broken. So my current car is a classic 1999 SAAB 93 Cabriolet! So not great for car camping. Great for sunbathing at the beach though. Thank you for sharing.
How would you deal with it? That's pretty much how it's done. I love full time in my minivan. I have a gym membership for showers and conditioning for hikes.
Thats good and all, I just wanna know, like how you go duty, As In, you go in the jungle with tissues? Or you carry a small container of water or something? Need to know pls 😅
Does this solar panel come with the power bank? If not ~ do you have recommendations for one? (Idk if size matters, but could I get away with one smaller … as I’m typing this is makes sense that bigger is better with solar panels … just any advice would be helpful for this lost soul. thnx)
If you really depend on ya car consider a high output alternator. Ya its not cheap but so are some of the fancy battery charger things 😂 deisel gen still probably the best but just sayin 😊
I have done a lot of car camping with a dual battery setup with a switch so I could isolate one battery in camp and have the other for starting the car. I have also used an electric winch a lot on my truck in my tree business. I have heard that I might want a more powerful alternator, but I have never had the slightest problem just using the one that came with the vehicle.
The whole point of having this thing is to avoid using your car battery when the engine isn't running and risk having it unable to start the car. Madison's description of how to use it was absolutely correct.
Some people think they are camping when they go to a "campground" with something the size of a greyhound bus and use full hookups. Where do you draw the line? I do a lot of car camping and feel funny telling somebody I was camping because they might think I hiked into the woods and slept in a tent (which I also do). I guess it's a matter of degrees. I would prefer camping in my car in a remote spot with no people to sleeping in a tent in a crowded campground whether it's camping or not.
I think im in love lol, your everything a man could want😂 and you live in your outback just like me lolol mine is a 2nd gen outback, wrx conversion, ive slept in mine every night for nearly 4 years now, if your ever in ky you gotta check out red river gorge
very cool. I do have a recommendation. plugging it in uses extra gas. Maybe you can find a way to attach the solar panel to the top of the car? if it's flat the air resistance is negligible. Otherwise place it in your car so it gets sun. such as the inside of the sun roof or rear left trunk window?
Please be careful camping out there by yourself make sure you have protection I know you have your dog with you and that’s great but still bring something to protect you and your dog
*Not sponsored. It’s the 1200watt power station by power republic
Respect!
Should be sponsored!
Proceeds to tell us the brand that is NOT sponsoring this 😂
@@Yetus I get asked what I use, my goal with this page is to share outdoor tips :)
@MadisonClysdalee real supporters know why you did it Madison! Appreciate it
Those power banks are a must have for anyone who camps. Even old people like myself find amazing uses for them.
I wouldn’t say there a must have for anyone who camps but a must have for anyone who camps the easy way
It's not camping if you're worried about charging electronics.
@@Roadtrippinhippyyou are correct but it's car camping so you may want like a little electric stove or something
*power station (not trying to sound rude or hateful just trying to inform you of their normal name)

Nice car. I love Subaru!. Greetings from Chile South America.
That portable solar panel looks very useful and practical considering the size
I do the same thing but I have a tiny 160w Jackery. I pretty much use it just for the fridge. My power needs are minimal. ⚡️🌿
Good to know. Thank you👍
They have the same station at harbor frieght under a different brand.
You can build/mod a high output 120V outlet on the back wall.
Wow thanks so much for this!!

I just bought an EcoFlow, but the little guy. Testing it out for camping, and thinking of getting the 12v fridge soon!
What kind of fridge do you have? It’s nice to have a fridge that charges
Good work 👍😁❤

Please answer. Ive heard a space heater doesnt work with a power station and only last an hour or so. How do you heat your car,?
Turn it on?
Same way you heat a tent or RV. Electric blankets or Propane.
Powerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr -Jeremy Clarkson
i dont think its good for your car battery to charge that thing is it?
The alternator is doing the work when the vehicle is running.

sleeping in a car is not camping it is uncomfterble and if you have power then its officialy glamping
