I think this island might be a major transshipment point in the Guns for Drugs and Meat Trade between Jamaica and Haiti.

What would occur if Haitian and Jamaican women commenced giving birth on the island? Would they be considered US citizens or American Nationals as the island is an unincorporated and uninhabited territory?
Anyone born in American territory is entitled to an American passport, therefore citizen. This is a true constitutional test. If they claim the island they must claim the inhabitants & develop infrastructure. Should be tried.
The land is governed by the Dept of Wildlife. And a lighthouse was built to show possession. It maybe "uninhabited" but not unincorporated.

Navassa is an unorganized territory of the US that is designated as a wildlife refugee. Therefore, being born on Navassa Island would NOT give you automatic citizenship.

What is Jamaica's involvement with the island of Navassa today? Does Jamaica get any financial benefits from the visitors or people who have used the island over the years? Navassa seems to be closer to Haiti, why is considered within the 200 miles radius of Jamaica?

Seems like the United States doesn’t need this island in today’s age. I wonder if Haitian and Jamaican representatives could get this matter solved by appealing it to the Supreme Court.
