Why does it says "Unknown column 'lastname' in 'field list'?" when I entered submit

I connected the DB successfully but when I misspelled the username (root) and try to get the error message it shows a blank screen. So I hope this line of code ( die(mysqli_error("Error"+$con)); ) is not working. any solution for this ? Also I must say your teaching is very helpful for people like me who are not from the computer stream. Thank you so much

I removed the simple quotes from "seriescrud" inside the $sql variable and worked for me.
