This team's problem is not about having the right pieces. It's lack of discipline and the lazy attitude thinking that putting 40 points on the Giants makes you Super Bowl contender.
Look back at the last regular season game against the Commanders. They treated it like it didn't mean anything and put no effort into playing and promptly lost. That's why they fail every season

This loss goes on the offense. Defense held the highest scoring team in the league to 22 points in Miami home field . The offense has to score more than 20 points to beat a team like this . Opening drive , 15 play drive ,get to the 1 yard line and fumble . 1st and goal from the 1 yard line and we fumbled the ball away on a fullback dive play. I don't understand how come we can't QB sneak it there with a couple players pushing Prescott from behind. I see other teams doing it successfully. The defense hung in there. Miami has got fast , greasy speed on offense and they are hard to stop. Opening drive turnover cam back to bite us on the ass and that pretty much sums up the outcome of the game
Dak Prescott was not designed for big games. Too many miscues and picks at crunch time. Not worth his pay. The rest of the team will be penalized out of any meaningful win.

It's very hard nowadays to find TEAM oriented players !!!! I remember during our Dynasty in the 90s I used to go to plenty of games in person and I would watchMichael Irvin while he was on the sidelines and the defense was on the field, he would be pacing the sidelines cheering and getting in player's faces demanding excellence ! Same with Troy !

Not a Dallas fan but the Dallas fan base is a downer. A lot of fan bases don't even have their teams show up for the playoffs for years. I want to see Dallas win one playoff game so I can see the Cowboys fans hop back on board. Maybe even win another and go to a NFC championship game. Anything is still possible. Despite the pattern seen in Dallas for years. Enjoy the ride, you still have it better than the average fan.

I called Smith a bust day one because the scouting reports said he was strong, but was too slow at the snap. When I expressed the fact that he would be a bust, everyone replied and and bashed me for it. Tyron was another one. I've been calling for the Cowboys to cut him loose for 5 years, now. He was good years ago, but he's been injury prone and unreliable all this time. Their failures have come down to coaching and drafting. Going back to when they drafted Taco when T.J. Watt was there for the taking. And apparently, Dan Quinn isnt as great of a coach as we are led to believe. All the haters are right. He's great against the bad teams, and mediocre against the good ones.We as fans get sucked in that delusion that this team will be better than the year before, constantly. I'm just sick, sick of believing in them and then being slammed to the dirt every year.

How can it be logical to say the Cowboys are good at drafting with Will McClay on the staff, while at the same time, they have not won jack crap in the playoffs since McClay has been involved in the drafting process for the Cowboys? Makes no logical sense at all? Good drafting NFL teams end up playing in Super Bowl games like the Eagles and Chiefs for example.
You're too emotional. Caused you rambled on some bad points.
1) the reason they have not gone out and signed big time FA's is because of the horrible salary cap hell hole we're constantly in due to Jerrah giving out horrible contracts, including Dakota recent contract. So they have had to sign roster fillers and rotational players. They have tried via trades but it has not propelled us to serious contenders.
2) Disagree on drafting and McClay. He's very good, but too many players are good but not great! When we do hit on great ones, their talent is wasted on an avg roster around them and bad avg coaching hires. Largely attributed to not being able to sign a few impact FA's due to the mishandling of the CAP!
3) I knew once Dakota was given tgat horrible contract extension, along with bad salary cap and this roster, that we were not contenders. If our OL and RB were studs, and a better WR option than Gallup, Dakota would just need to manage the game, not put it on his shoulders to win. He's not that guy!
30yrs and counting, wasted talented players careers because Jerrahs ego bigger than the studium roof to step aside and relinquish and hire a legit GM and HC!

Notice how during trade deadlines there was no phone calls from Jerry.

One positive take. Dak has had 2 game leading dives in recent weeks. Not something he has been good at in his career. Romo did it often. Dak did it against Seattle. Now against Miami. Unfortunately, the defense couldn't make a stop on the final drive. We probably lost out on the division now.

I don't believe Dallas will loose to the Lions next week, nor the Commanders. However, I can’t doubt how poor Dan Quinn's defense has been in the running game late in the season, but I'm still confident at how good the offense is and getting points.
The second round 2023 pick was much worse than the first round pick. DT was a position of need. TE was not.
