It's a crazy thing to me that part of the criticism of restaurants/cafes nowadays is "can you take a nice photo of yourself with your coffee?" I'm not even 30 yet but I guess I'm out of touch with the youth?! 😆
While I appreciate this video, you can’t do good comparative research and order something different at every place. You gotta compare all of the same drinks at these different places to really judge.
Alfred Coffee is good, but overrated. If you live in LA you know, so don’t get fooled guys. Plus, It seems like you were rating lattes not the actual coffee.
@Seda Gunay My favorites are Paradocs Coffee and Tea (knowledgeable barista/owner), Bluestone Lane (chain stores from NY but good!) Caffe Montage (Orange County: if you are into good coffee but with crafty lattes), and Dark Horses (Orange County: originally from SD. only outside seating). Pour overs at Verve (recommend the one near the Grove and the one in Art District) are also nice.
From a coffee connoisseur perspective Verve is great for pour overs and single origin espresso you have to be a die hard coffee fan (not just a flavored latte gal), same with Blue Bottle. Both are extremely favorable roasters up here in northern California. Overall good video that caters towards that basic white girl coffee shop lovers.
K Lediaev this this this. this should be called, “watch this if you wanna instagram your gross flavored latte” not ACTUALLY try some espresso and black drip or pour over 🙄😂
👏🏻👏🏻 exactly! If you’re actually looking for quality “coffee” then Verve and Blue Bottle deliver. There’s also Stumptown Coffee, and La Colombe but, as you said don’t cater to people going for the dessert iced coffee drinks they can post on Instagram.
So hot coffee cups or most paper cups you get for drinks to go are actually lined with plastic. Unless the cup says it’s compostable, you can probably assume there’s plastic in it. Just wanted to let you know that paper cups for iced coffee aren’t always better for the environment. I love the video though!
This might sound biased, but the bay area has a better coffee scene than Los Angeles, particularly as it pertains to taste. Philz’s coffee kind of proves that. Lol. Without even knowing your videos existed, my girlfriend, one of her friends, and I did an impromptu coffee house tour in LA, basically to determine the same things, which café was the cutest/had the best coffee. We ended up at “The butcher, the baker, and the cappuccino maker”, which was OK. But the whole time I was thinking, “I was just wanting to impress them with flavor, I would simply take them to Philz’s!” Lol. Philz’s is Bay Area born, and delicious!
I actually really love Verve, but you are so right. It's pretty dark inside, they lack in outlets, and the staff can be a little sassy sometimes. Aka I went yesterday and the barista did not smile once. Lol
I definitely love Blue Bottle's new orleans coffee...for some reason I think Alfred is definitely overrated. Their lattes are so expensive ($7+, close to $8 after tip) and it tastes very watery to me.
I love this video!!! I’m coming to LA next month, so Alfred & Philz were already on my list (thanks to you & Emma lol) but now I’m excited to try Carrera too! Can’t wait to see more videos like this :)
Hey there! Just wanted to mention that most coffee cups are not recyclable/compostable. This is because they are lined with a thin layer of plastic and it's too expensive to separate the two during the recycling process/mixed materials can't be composted. So unless it specifically says it's compostable/recyclable it'll still have to go in the trash bin. This applies to other cardboard boxes that hold liquids, like milk cartons. I always have a reusable cup on me so I don't run into this problem.
I'm Italian so I'd judge coffee's quality by an espresso. Those crazy mixes make me go like: 😱 7 bucks for a coffee yeah, last time I was in Cali the price shocked me slightly
Best coffee I had in LA was Menottis. Atmosphere and the shop wasn't as cool as some of these places, but just best flavor coffee for sure. I agree with you on Blue Bottle - I went to the one on Abbott Kinney and the coffee was average. Intelligentsia is OK, there's one in Hollywood and one on Abbott Kinney as well.
I appreciate the work you put into this so much, sure Emma did ~a similar thing~ but yours blows her video out of the water with how thorough you were. She really only went to a few places and just tested the coffee, you made these full reviews and videography was awesome. Keep it up girl 👏🏻👏🏻
The best verve coffee shop is the original one in Santa Cruz, CA. Also the Philiz @El Segundo is way better. The Santa Monica location - due to the fact that it is very touristy location tends not to have the best quality of coffee.
As a European, it shocks me that every single coffee (or rather "something-kinda-like-coffee") was served in paper or plastic cups instead of actual mugs even though you CLEARLY did not order these drinks to go. So much for me thinking California is a "green" state.
I loved this video! Just have to put this out there though, you will like Verve if you like strong coffee lol. It is one of my favorite coffee shops in LA (some of the best cold brew, and they will let you sample it) the melrose/ 3rd street locations are the best!
I'm visiting from Australia for the first time in October and have been recommended to hit up Two Guns Espresso and The Boy And The Bear in south bay, you girls been to either of them? The coffee is REALLY good in Australia and I've heard mixed reviews about LA coffee, keen to check it out though!
hi there,i'm tori i been to LA since 2007. so what's the best coffee shops there? are they all that good? i'm going to disneyland after the pandemic is over before this year is done. bye now
Not trying to hate but even tho blue bottle had paper cups for the iced drink every paper coffee cup has a plastic lining and not to mention the plastic lid the paper cups are actually not even recyclable
3:30 Yea its like so cute, like yea seating is like crazyyyyy the coffee like there are no outlets, its cray cray. I didn't get enough oakmilk in my cofeeeee, like whaattt
I just watched this video. I was shocked from the workability of Philz. I think that Philz varies per location, because at the Philz in where I'm from, it's great on workability...
Don't worry, your video is more useful than Emma's because you actually give us a review about the place and the coffee.
Yeah and the two videos have a really different vibes each
This vid is wayy better.
It's a crazy thing to me that part of the criticism of restaurants/cafes nowadays is "can you take a nice photo of yourself with your coffee?" I'm not even 30 yet but I guess I'm out of touch with the youth?! 😆
Lol dw I'm 24 and I completely agree
Joe is a term for coffee! So it is a coffee and juice place
Why did that go over my head before wow
You’d think they’d know, since everyone is a coffee addict 😂
While I appreciate this video, you can’t do good comparative research and order something different at every place. You gotta compare all of the same drinks at these different places to really judge.
tea
Alfred Coffee is good, but overrated. If you live in LA you know, so don’t get fooled guys. Plus, It seems like you were rating lattes not the actual coffee.
aec30 00 that’s the typical white girl move. They don’t even try actual coffee drinks 😭😭
I'm planning to visit LA in April and I would love to have your recommendations for actual coffee lol
@@FASSHIONTUCK Blue Bottle Coffee is amazing for regular coffee imo. i had it when i was visiting LA and it was amazing

@@risa0517 Thanks! Would definitely put it on my to go list!
YAAS 😩 love that y’all covered all your bases by including multiple factors and didn’t just do a taste test 🙌🏼
The price of coffee in my country, even in the fanciest cafes, doesn’t exceed 3-4 dollars
Love this video! The editing is amazing! This would make a great series!
The Verve Coffee Roasters on 3rd Street is my favorite coffee spot for working!!
Let’s go back to joe & the juice
I actually liked the interior of the Verve! Looked minimalist and mature
This makes me want coffee now haha. But I loved this video, I love exploring new coffee shops!!
That Verve doesn’t really fit the vibe of most of them. I promise the other locations are way more •~aesthetic~•

I love the video though!
WAIT IM LOVING THE FOUR WEDDINGS ON TLC VIBE AHHHHH
Just watched Emma's and I have to say that yours is a lot more helpful. Thank you for mentioning the prices and workability
Ah! This is great! I would love it if “ease of parking” could have been a category!!
This might sound biased, but the bay area has a better coffee scene than Los Angeles, particularly as it pertains to taste. Philz’s coffee kind of proves that. Lol. This was shot and edited so beautifully! Will never try any of these coffee shops since I live in Europe but enjoyed this video anyway lol
Blue Bottle seems like an Apple Store. And, that's where I'd go to - quiet and minimalistic.
This was such a good video idea! You should do more of these trying places or trying anything videos!
This is the best “testing every coffee video” I’ve seen. It’s such a wholesome, well composed video that was amazing and fun to watch
I actually really love Verve, but you are so right. It's pretty dark inside, they lack in outlets, and the staff can be a little sassy sometimes. Aka I went yesterday and the barista did not smile once. Lol
Lol Verve has a very nyc tone to it. I love it. I’d actually want to get work done there. No random girls taking Insta pictures 😂😂
Definitely try blue bottle, it’s very flavorful. I don’t know why she said it couldn’t had more flavor. She doesn’t have a good taste at all.

You should so make a podcast, I don't care what about but your voice is the best to listen to
I definitely love Blue Bottle's new orleans coffee...for some reason I think Alfred is definitely overrated. Their lattes are so expensive ($7+, close to $8 after tip) and it tastes very watery to me.
If you guys go to Seattle, either downtown Seattle or Bellevue go to Fonte Cafe and try both the Almond milk Turkish Late and their Aztec Mocha!
Can you do a review on Tierra Mia coffee shop ? Also what are your thoughts on cafe de olla ? Thank you for your reviews on the coffee shops in LA .
Just not the one in downtown, it's really small considering all of the factors she's looking at
Cool video, maybe do a video on all the trendy ice cream places in LA with Shelby
I love this video!!! I’m coming to LA next month, so Alfred & Philz were already on my list (thanks to you & Emma lol) but now I’m excited to try Carrera too! Can’t wait to see more videos like this :)
I agree, blue bottle is overrated. I went to Carrera on Monday and got a lavender iced coffee i loved it so much I got another one to go. Great video!
It would be very helpful to add markers to your videos and a list of the name of the coffee shops too. Great video, like it.

i wanna try the last one, or the philz one.
I'm Italian so I'd judge coffee's quality by an espresso. Those crazy mixes make me go like: 😱 7 bucks for a coffee yeah, last time I was in Cali the price shocked me slightly
That's why I usually make coffee at home
Actually the coffee shop near me has bot brewed coffee for $4.5. They have fancy latte for $10
I prefer your video over Emma's
So informative girl! 👏
Came from Shelby! Love your style just subscribed :)
When you live across the country from LA but still watch this vid because Morgan’s videos are >>>
Best coffee I had in LA was Menottis. Atmosphere and the shop wasn't as cool as some of these places, but just best flavor coffee for sure.

yoooooo interesting but you speak so FAAAAST take it down a bit

La La land on Montana is great!
I need to try some of those places if i get a chance
I’ve always loved Philz’ mint mojito
I tried their iced coffee rosé with oat milk, and it’s pretty good. Their iced mocha tesora is pretty good as well.
Ruben Espinoza i’ve never actually ordered anything else other than the mint mojito! But i’ll try next time hahaha
Lol rating based on how instagramable a place is, and how easy you can get a photo. Please. I hate this world. But I did enjoy the video.
I love how thorough this was! And a1 editing!
As a European, it shocks me that every single coffee (or rather "something-kinda-like-coffee") was served in paper or plastic cups instead of actual mugs even though you CLEARLY did not order these drinks to go. So much for me thinking California is a "green" state.
i really want to try mint mojito from Philz. But isn't that a cocktail?
I thought San Diego coffee prices would be pretty comparable but I can happily say I’ve never paid $7 for a coffee 😂
Blue Bottle has no wifi! Important for the workability factor
Morgan’s our here making content I didn’t even know I wanted
Smh. Did you not know the blue bottle is in one of the most iconic landmark buildings in la?!? It is a great photo location!
lol not sure what happened at G&B. Best coffee in LA along with gget and Intelli.
Watching this knowing I live super far from LA...
Came here from shelbys channel, stayed bc of the amazing quality, your voice and how cool this video is , love from mexico 🇲🇽
I just love both of your videos!
I loved this video!
Just have to put this out there though, you will like Verve if you like strong coffee lol. It is one of my favorite coffee shops in LA (some of the best cold brew, and they will let you sample it) the melrose/ 3rd street locations are the best!
alfred coffee is cool but they use stump town beans for their drinks. just a heads up, unless i'm wrong.
It's wild that LA only has 7 coffee shops...
Wouldve been great if you carried your own metal straw
Aroma in Studio City is great.
CRAVING another oat milk latte now!!
carrera is so good
I’ve been waiting for this since we got the vlog sneak peak🤗
Yay!!!
I love coffee and this vlog is really useful. Thank you. Visit mine too.
I'm visiting from Australia for the first time in October and have been recommended to hit up Two Guns Espresso and The Boy And The Bear in south bay, you girls been to either of them? The coffee is REALLY good in Australia and I've heard mixed reviews about LA coffee, keen to check it out though!
Philz is not a chain, originally from the Bay and all owned by the same owner. Coffee is bomb!
los angeles bar?
Great job on this video! You can tell how much work was put in because it's seamless.
Oh I think the verve was my favorite! :) love the black & white
Based on the collab, comment Shelbae if you saw shelby's video first and comment Morgan if you saw morgans video first
hi there,i'm tori i been to LA since 2007.
so what's the best coffee shops there?
are they all that good?
i'm going to disneyland after the pandemic is over before this year is done.
bye now
wow i love this
I love the vintage shirts
Not trying to hate but even tho blue bottle had paper cups for the iced drink every paper coffee cup has a plastic lining and not to mention the plastic lid the paper cups are actually not even recyclable
if youre going to review coffee shops at least get coffee not milk with a splash of espresso also take off auto white balance.
3:30
Yea its like so cute, like yea seating is like crazyyyyy the coffee like there are no outlets, its cray cray. I didn't get enough oakmilk in my cofeeeee, like whaattt
Awesome idea!

Just came across your channel via my recommendations, I love this! Got a vicarious coffee buzz 🤩
Video looks so good, which camera do you use???
So how long did it take you to calm down after all the coffee? 🐝🐝
Cool video deff will try out some of this places
5:46 got me laaaaaughing
Budweiser
she is talking crazy fast, like auctioning something
Dont call it a fucking coffee shop unless it serves weed
You forgot the butcher baker cappachino maker
so you're more concerned about the instagram-ability of these places? lmao
madison basic la girl shit
Yes. Yep only coffee place that actually has decent coffee and sells single origin was rated a 4, while Philz got a 9 😆
Any recommendations for cheese foam coffee in the L.A area?
Omg no wonder I thought your intro sounded like the church sisters 😂😂
You should try more mom n' pop shops like kelly's coffee. Their coffee is great and underrated
wow...you covered many places ,....Nice !
I just watched this video. I was shocked from the workability of Philz. I think that Philz varies per location, because at the Philz in where I'm from, it's great on workability...
Found you through Shelby's Rooftop video - love your b roll voice very clear and well spoken !
I agree about blue bottle! I've always thought that.
