My parents moved to Melbourne it’s only 3 hrs flight. But with Covid it’s been hard. I last saw my dad in 2019. I saw mum in 2020 as I had a major operation she flew over. I saw my brother last year he also lives in Melbourne Australia. Then I saw mum this year. To which she said she had breast cancer. She had the operation last week. Didn’t remove the breast just the tumour. My dad went thru cancer in 2020 as well and so did I.
So it’s hard. So these hellos and. Goodbyes are cherished. No amount of goodbyes is enough.

These goodbyes remind me of when my husband used to deploy. So bittersweet. I think a lot of people view children as a burden and I love that you are all a great example of viewing them as a blessing. When I saw Joel with a huge line of kids just happy as a clam and it warmed my heart.

Bonnie I am Serbian but lived in Miami my whole life and now in Seattle so I get you i miss my dad uncontrollably I have never been away from him longer then 3 weeks and he lives in Miami so whenever you talk to them tell them that you miss them!!!

No need to justify saying goodbye to your parent a few time, I totally get it! I would do the same thing!!! Also, yuk about the cancellation, we had our flight to Mykonos, Greece cancelled in June and had to be rerouted to Athens, then herded like cows onto a boat for three hours to get to Mykonos and the delay in travel was 49 hours in total from Lax-London-Athen-Mykonos, with my daughter, her husband, my husband and our 5 month old grand baby. No fun. However, it was fun in Greece when we finally got there! What beautiful people your parents are for going on this Mission. I hope this time passes quickly for you. I’m getting my knee replaced August 25th, I’m thinking I’m getting a little paranoid about now of the pain! Wishing Joel’s mom a quick recovery.

Hurt my heart not seeing ruby and the kids. Knowing the Frankes chose to distance themselves because they think “her family isn’t living in truth” which is not TRUE just because people chose not to have the same parenting style doesn’t mean they are distorted, and wrong. Hopefully they keep trying to reach out knowing they are missing out on these moments.

That was hard to see them go and all you kids being there!! So sweet. Reminded me when we sent our son on his mission 😪 it's a hard thing to go through. The guys were so funny in their man hug with your Dad 😁 Your parents will be such AWESOME MISSIONARIES. Just watch all the blessings begin in your family! I feel for Joel's Mom having her knee replaced. I had both my knees replaced the same day in Dec 2014. The one thing I tell everyone that asks about going through such a major surgery is to make sure to go through enough physical therapy....FOR SURE. The pain is real!!! It's the worse surgery I've been through. 😃😃
Could you take a trip to Serbia to see them if you really wanted too.
