Interesting how it as changed since my days ,Went to sunny Bordon for phase 2 Jan 85 left end of Sept 85 ..Day started about 7 if i remember ,parade in front of the accomodation ,then we had to march all the way to the class in the training area ..At the end of the day unless you had duties ie guard ,or there was an inspection the following day your time was for you to do what you want ,.no military training ...Accomodation was 4 man rooms..so easier to keep clean ..Again weekends unless on duty was your's to do as you wish...Back in my day ,i was a VMB ,if you failed your 1st exam Maths / Science ,there was no resit ,you where binned as a VM and asked to choose something else ie Driver as R.E.M.E . had theri own drivers back then...In my 12 years every unit i was at did block leave, with a rear party...
If you go infantry long course at afc Harrogate is that 42 weeks your phase1, then say for para your phase 2 would be para depot at Catterick after that
I have passed this on to Grandsons who have 1 yr left at school. Not interested in the navy! Would love to get them to see what an army base looks like before they leave school! I started the navy equivalent in 1977!! Oh those were the days!! Here is a true story. Back then, if you were under 17, you got free chocolate bars every week!
Thanks for the video! Great to hear about what we can expect. I did have a question, is it ever possible to live off camp during phase two if you are in a long term relationship? Other channels suggest surplus married quarters could be an option if available?
Unless you are married it would be very difficult to get a surplus married quarter. If you spoke to welfare though, they would certainly try and help you out.
Can a single soldier adopt a child & if so how would that work? If possible could you make a video about it in the future? Thank you and am really enjoying your content 🇬🇧👍
Hi Sam. I’m your number 16th fan. I’m in the U.S. Army but even though our armies fought against one another in the American war of independence and also the war of 1812 I still respect you as a man. We have the greatest military in history so you may see advanced warfare and highly prestigous troops training to defeat a possible invasion of Great Britain to regain territory to get America back to the union of Great Britain.
