the growth this guy has - played #5 as a freshy in college in 2021, won NCAA team. played #1 as a sophy and won NCAA individual title in 2022 - NOW 2023 - US OPEN semifinalist!
Wow, doubles tennis is exciting in College. The only player that's previously brought that vibe to doubles in grand slam is Nick Kyrgios. Now Ben Shelton has too.
Honestly, I like the emotions of Shelton, he’s so engaging!!! However, it’s hard not to see him as an odd man out with the current, more classy attitude of the pros. And, with that said, while I appreciate that he’s being his authentic self, I do understand why he may rub some the wrong way given that he’s unfortunately so unique with the way things are.
Totally disagree… More Players ars showing emotion on court. Ben came right from college tennis to the pros. Most of the guys in pros did not go to college or play college tennis… Those who did are a but more effusive, louder. Fact is his opposition will see his response and figure out how to deal with it. Ben comes to compete/ not kneelto his opponents, no matter how iconic they may be. Ben comes from a good family. His dad is a very calm guy. Ben’s aggressiveness comes from his passion forthe game. You do not have to watch!
It's time for Professional Tennis to enter the 21st century. Showing more excitement and emotions is great. Yeah since the beginning of time many people don't like change but it comes it comes.
Tiafoe is very showy and sometimes goes into the stands to shake hands after winning a big point. And Kyrios act is pretty old already. And Rublev will beat his thigh black and blue after losing a big point. So Ben's postive energy is no big deal. Tennis fans including me seem to love this guy. And female fans are probably falling in love.
It's really sad that he'll never break top 10 and will crash and burn before he turns 22. He's all about power with no work ethic or discipline. He'll crash and burn like all other power hitters that preceded him.

Actually insane
alcaraz is even younger...

Now just needs to mature and knock off the corny attitude on court.
From playing college tennis to playing Djokovic in a US open semi final - what a man
Imagine you're playing #5 on your college team, and you have to play against a future world top 20.
people wonder why hes so hype in pro matches. you see this energy? atp could never understand it
It's so easy for those not familiar with NCAA tennis (or NCAA athletics in general) to misinterpret the atmosphere. It's just different.
maybe its time for him to grow tf up

Ben Shelton - go man go - US OPEN !!!
Omg this made me so cry I lost my dad two months before I was born and to see this makes me wish I knew my father
total transformation of his forehand from then to now. Looks so much cleaner
#2 doubles #5 singles now 3 years later ranked top 20 in the world crazy
He is ranked top 20 since 2023 so it took him 2 years after this
undefeated this decade
didnt know he had a platform stance on serve before..., definetly better now
thanks for not making it obvious who the other team is.

College tennis is so fire. The professional tennis snobs and “purists” need to catch up.
It’s a gentleman’s sport bro, you can’t change a sport’s heritage
Playing 5😁
Reckon his career may have surpassed the top 4
It's good to be Florida Gators!
He didn’t hit winners or what? Couldn’t you post better highlights?
He should shake his opponents hand before celebrating like that.. so disrespectful and rude to leave him hanging there.
but what is that audience, soo freaking loud
I think it's because we're hearing the crowd from all courts not that the crowd specifically watching his matches is purposely loud during play.
Welcome to college tennis baby!
because college tennis is better
everything wrong with US college tennis right here. Rowdy to the core.
This is why Shelton is so annoying in the pros. Tennis at college is like being at a hockey or football game. Hell learn.
or maybe you're just old and have an unreasonable hatred for energy in tennis

what a circus show, playing for an NCAA championship with borderless courts next to each other and a row of hundreds of people shouting at each one.

Too bad Shelton is nothing rn.
whaaat 😂 he just won in clay and in his personal best ranking in worlds. give me some of that shit you’re smoking
