    Everyone was obsessed with oranges when I was in boarding school in the uk around the time of this interview.

    having read oranges and why be happy when you could be normal I feel like she was making it sound like oranges is less autobiographical than it is. most things did seem to have actually happened somehow, though not quite the same way as in oranges
