Park information
The site of Cliffs of the Neuse State Park, with impressive cliffs overlooking the Neuse River, has been a landmark for centuries. Five hiking trails explore the riverside habitats and their mature forests and lead to some quiet fishing spots along the waterway. A favorite facility for the local communities is an 11-acre swimming lake with a bathhouse, grass-covered lawn, sandy beach and diving platform with rental boats available. Expansive picnic grounds are nearby. The park has group campsites, a 32-site family campground, and 3 reservable cabins. A visitor center offers museum-quality exhibits that explore the natural and cultural history of the region, complementing regular interpretive programs.
Tent, trailer and RV camping
The family campground at Cliffs of the Neuse is located in a wooded area near the park office.
There are 12 sites with electrical hookups: sites 1 to 6, 8, 10, 12, 28, 30 and 32 (30 and 50 amp service is offered). There is potable drinking water and dedicated wastewater for each site. A dump station is provided to those camping.
There are also 18 standard campsites. Water is available at several locations in the camping area and there is a washhouse with hot showers.
Occupancy is limited to one family or six people per site, and a limit of one RV and one tent; one pop-up and one tent; or two tents per site.
Campsite #6 is wheelchair accessible.
The campground is open year-round.

We are so used to having to pay for our state parks, it seems unreal that some states offer their parks for free! So nice to hear that. Love a park with a lot of trail options! Will you guys be visiting any other states in the near future to show their parks?
TerryX2Explore yes being free was nice. I loved the shaded trails and the lake area. We plan on visiting more out of State Parks in the future. We wanted to visit a few more North Carolina parks, but it was raining the whole week we visited :-/

Not About The Destination Yes free we loved that. The whole week we were there it rained, I forgot how humid the Carolinas get. Which are some of your favorite parks from North Carolina?
Stone Mountain and Hanging Rock were amaxing. It's hard to believe it's free for such nice parks.

Not that I want to write up your comment section but there are towns that if you haven't gone will be just as impressive. Bryson City is one of them Right next to the National Park with several waterfall that is easy to reach. Take care and safe travels.

I liked your video! I just posted my version of this hike. I'm going to subscribe so I can watch your travels and who knows, maybe out paths will cross one day on a trail! By the way... I've lived near TX and I live in NC. You've got us beat on the heat with humidity! Everything is bigger in TX, including the HEAT! LOL Feel free to check out the trails I've done that you might find interesting to visit.
Ill definitely check your channel out. Texas does bring the heat, but that North Carolina humidity doesn't play. I lived in NC and now live in Texas. I visit Texas State Parks, but when out of State I try to check out the State Parks. What other parks have you visited? Thanks for stopping by :-)
