Missed y’all at Destination Defender. Got there Sunday. All the PLAYERS came Friday & Saturday 🤙🏽. Thanks for sharing….What up Josh? It’s me Zanzibar LR4 😄
Before we got there everyone thought we needed to see everything because none of us would ever go back with it so far out of the way. After the second day I think the consensus was that everyone would go there again.
Yes, even from Houston it’s a 13hr trip. Both Kathleen and I did many Big Bend trips that involved all night drives to get there, and then putting on the river first thing in the morning.
I'm writing this from Warwickshire, England, home of the Land Rover, where virtually everyone knows someone who works for Jaguar Land Rover. It makes me feel proud that the Land Rover products did so well on your trip. I'd expect it from the new Defender, but the fact that the much cheaper Discoveries (LR4) did as well was impressive.
Wow some beautiful scenery of the USA, well a small part of it! Some of it was a bit lunar in nature and other parts just rugged. I have two questions Steve: 1. did you rely on the dashboard display (360) at any time or did you just rely on the spotter? 2. I noticed that the solar panel was quite dirty by the end of the trip did the dirt affect it in any way? Just curious to know. Thanks for sharing this trip Steve It was very enjoyable. 👍👍
1: I tried to use the cameras but they were not very useful for this type of environment, although it was nice to have the side-by-side side cameras up when going up Christmas Mountains so I could check how much room I had on both sides. 2: The solar panel got dirty on the last day because I put my wet tent on there to dry it out before trying to pack it away. Before that I did wipe it a couple time with water and a towel but except for the time at Destination Defender we were driving so much that everything was always charged up. 3: I might be posting a follow up video on how the Defender did, what broke, and what worked and did not.
@@ThisWeekWithCars thanks for your prompt response. I wasn't able to watch the video on the day of the post but I am glad I did now. A follow-up would be of interest. As a British citizen and someone who was born in the Midlands not too far from the Land Rover factory I have always been interested in these vehicles. 👍👍
We were not in the park when using the drone. There is a lot of wheeling on private land surrounding the park that is actually better than what you find in the park. Christmas Mountain for example.
Whatch Natalie and Allen's video here: ruclips.net/video/qwiDufk0Vw4/видео.html
Looks like a fantastic trip. Those D’s look awesome on-road, off-road or parked. Glad you had a good time.
Thanks Jeff maybe the XD will be the one to make the next trip. The Defender 90 is a bit too small for doing stuff like this.
Great to see the L319's out there with the new stuff.

Great video, really enjoyed the views of Big Bend. Glad you enjoyed the trip, as Big Bend is one of our favorite National Parks.

So cool to see the LR4 in the mix! Wondering if it was of the locking rear diff variety or the regular central diff.
Now that's the kind of trip Land Rovers are for! Thanks for showing me a part of Texas I'll never see. Greetings from SW Ontario, Canada.

Four of the people on the trip own LR4s and love them. I’m a Disco 1 and Disco 2 guy but maybe that is because I’ve never owned a LR4!
great stuff thanks
Looks like a nice Trip! Cheers
Wow. Nice spotting.
Big Bend and the Chisos Basin is super amazing
Another great video 👍
Those defenders are real good at keeping the wheels on the ground.😂
Not the smartest guy in your group, are you?
amazing❤
Just noticed the guy wearing a stormtrooper helmet haha 11:11

Do ypu have a gpx file for the whole trip? Looks great! I don't know big bend but would love to do a trip similar to this! Great video!
The Black Gap is a fun run. How many times did y'all run it? BTW, has NPS lifted the drone ban at the park?

Those V8's sound gutteral 23:35
I'm seeing a lot of 19" and some 20" wheels there. Did anyone have any issues with these sizes vs going down to 18"s?
Nobody had any trouble with their tires.
awesome to hear it @@ThisWeekWithCars ! Trying to decide what I want to do with my 19s; go up or down! ha! Thanks!
