A Mr. Peterson and a Mr. Tatum have just exchanged glances in the heavens above. Thoroughly enjoy your progressions. God Bless and Stay Healthy, Dear Ben.
Ben is an absolute master of jazz piano as evidenced by his easy -smooth style with a tempo that is appropriate for each song that he plays. He does echo O.P. and does pay tribute to him. It is difficult to stop listening to Ben Paterson.
... great performance at the piano of this very nice title - it's an amazing style mix with parts from piano playing of Oscar Peterson and Errol Garner 👍👏 greetings from north germany 🇩🇪🙋♂️🎹🎼🎵🍀🐶
Such smooth and effortless playing. You know how the approach a keyboard. Great arrangement of the piece. I could hear so many influences wrapped up together, speaking through you. God Bless -Don
Great job on this piece. It's an awesome rendition. Throughout the many up and coming pianists, you're one of the best. The way you voice your chords and play the melodies is ... smart, delicate while still powerful and gash. very very good. I first heard "one the move" from a post that someone had put on reddit.com/r/jazz. Keep on rocking man. Great great job and especially on "hard times" as well. great job. very very good.
The techique is first rate but somewhat too "busy" at times.. I don't like comparing players, but Jacob Koller has a more pleasing rendition of this based on my critique.
Is this really capturing the real spirit of such a sad song? It's about telling somebody that they don't know what love is. It's meant to be a dark and tragic song. I feel like you are just trying to play so many impressive runs and licks that you do not feel the song at all. Listen to lennie Tristano, how he captures it. This isn't a piece to fly through with little emotion. No need to impress us. And I don't think swing or stride is needed. It's tragic man. Haha. Okay enough said.
@@rickperlstein9988 True but the "tasteful" rendition of a song like this requires that the playing style be consistent with what the song is trying to say. He's a good player for sure but this style undercuts the theme too much.

You are phenomenal, Ben. This song alone is a tutorial of piano styles. It's got everything. OMG where have you been?
I love the stride with the Tatumesque runs, you play it very accurately and effortlessly
Yesss, and I have included your work in my playlist of 35 renditions of this Tune, on my channel, Sweet,

Sometimes a cat's just gotta play the changes.
Very accurate comment. This playing style is over the top with technique like cooking a meal with every spice in the book thrown in.
