I love Bob Snider - so true -so beautiful - His best songs are not on youtube - his most serious songs like Anna Marie and Mayflower are beautiful. One of the world's greatest songwriters - an unknown gem.
I got to play a festival years ago on the same bill as Bob... Super nice and real guy who had time for everyone who wanted to talk... Hope to run into him again someday!
Wow oh wow...That just left me speechless. Bar none, the best thing I have seen in a long time. Sometimes talent comes to us in visions of nonsense and disbelief. A man who can write and perform like that has accomplished much and in my mind has achieved everything worth achieving. Thank you for sharing this on RUclips.
Amazing. I've never seen anyone play guitar that way. He seems to have travelled a long hard road and documented the trip for us to help us make sense of all of this and remind us that there is no making sense of this. He's great at telling the story and his lyrics have made me wonder if I might be crazy. This is the songwriting at it's highest.
I heard a couple of his songs and spent 2 years looking for him. i think i might have even seen him in kensington.....thanks so much for posting this - such an honest.....experience. so amazing.
Thanks for putting this up! I haven't seen Bob in too long; the finest slinger-wrongslighter in all Canadia, imho. I've been a huge fan since hearing his He's An Old Nova Scotian on a promo comp in the 80s sometime, A genius & great spirit, though he'd probably be the last to admit it.
Hope my dictionary works: Humility. I feel. Makes me all silent and attentiv. This man is fascinating me (and reminding me of someone I know...) Beau - ti - full. Thank you.
I was lucky enough to hear Ron Sexsmith on the Vinyl Cafe CBC in 2006 playing songs with just his acoustic guitar. He played this really beautiful one, then said it was written by a Bob Snider, who was on the scene with him in the 1980's Toronto. They've finally re-released Caterwaul & Doggerel (1995) so you can hear his great music for yourself too by simply googling him under Borealisrecords
I first saw Bob on PBS, doing a fundraiser. I immediately was attracted to his genuine presence. But, for your sake & all your adoring fans,....."PLEASE, ...PLEASE, STOP SMOKING"...It's killed so many good people. I wouldn't want it to happen to you, the world has few enough, of decent people like you. I'd take you for PM, in a heart beat!!!
I knew Bob in Toronto during the 80's... what a talented songwriter and lovely person he is.

It is brilliant isn't it? I've listened to this tune many times before and it stirs my emotions every time with intensity.

That would be the Shure SM7b, into a great River NV pre into lynx converter into Protools.
It would be a shame to ignore
