    Great content as always. These patterns and scales are used by all of the jazz masters, once you start to notice the patterns they're everywhere!

      You’re absolutely correct, these patterns are at the foundation for exploration. There are so many possibilities that stem from these exercises. Thanks for checking out the content.

    I’ve never heard of this but this is the sound I love to play on the trombone

      Our ears know this sound very well because it’s so common in many styles of music.

    Nice intro to the best ways to navigate forward! My problem is when I do one too many, and end up a chord ahead in the tune. I think this is the major reason why the 4th is called the magnetic fourth haha. Great pacing as always Dion!

      Once that train gets rolling it can be hard to stop lol! Using the 1/2 step movement in between certain notes can help slow things down.

    Great stuff as usual; clear and consice. Love this lesson (well all of them but like the circle of 4th the way you have discussed.) Thanks, Dion. How do I get onto your Patreon page so I can access the notes on the page?

      Hello Marla, my Patreon page is not up and running just yet but please remind me in our next session to write out that exercise with your notes. I got ya covered, I hope all is well!

    Thank you! Where can we get the sheet music for these exercises?

    • @TheChopsShop
      @TheChopsShop  3 года назад +3

      I don’t have a PDF written out for this exercise. Generally I just create them for the video but is that something you would like to have access to for future videos? I can add that to the arsenal if there is enough of a demand for it.

    So much of this is over my head. I feel so dumb! Are there any books you could suggest that would help me get up to speed?

    • @TheChopsShop
      @TheChopsShop  3 года назад +2

      Don’t feel dumb, you just know what you know. We all have room to learn so don’t feel bad. As far as books go, I’m not sure but I’ll do a little research. I’m sure if you searched on this platform “learn the cycle of fourths” you would find a lot of information as well.
