    Not sure how anyone could look at your World Champs experience as "career ending". Certainly didn't go as planned, but you raced both races and finished both, you're healthy and training and you have the opportunity to go right back at it at World Cross. It's been a fantastic 4 or 5 months, with several PR's and now with three GB vests. It's a long climb and you've made significant steps recently and the trajectory is right. More good progress is ahead. Best of luck in Belgrade!

    If I have learned nothing else in 50+ years of running and racing, it is there are both sweet successes and depressing disappointments. Stay the course. Live your dream without regrets.

    Is it not considered bad form to press the pace on when someone has fallen? I do a lot of cycling and in bike races when someone crashes, it's not against the rules to attack but it's not very common for it to happen, if anything the bunch actually eases to allow people to re-join. Even if it's tactically smart, I wouldn't want to beat someone because they tripped. It's in the same bracket as attacking through feed stations to me

    • @adam_fogg
      @adam_fogg  5 месяцев назад +1

      Not in a short race like this where so many variables can impact how the race plays out. I agree in a longer race where there is a big pack it would be harsh to break away with a fall, but think it's different in this situation

      Could be anything, but possibly down to an overall lack of aerobic fitness. Try to run more easy mileage and when you can increase that, start adding in some good threshold sessions. It's hard to say without more context, but keep training well and you'll feel stronger and improve

    When I watched the final, I noticed that you were more hyped up than you usually are at the start of a race… food for thought, but I was thinking that maybe you had an adrenaline dump at the start of the race which then obviously faded. Similar to how the heat went after you got tripped… I may be completely wrong but I just thought I’d mention it for an outsiders perspective.
    Regardless, it was your first individual world champs. So don’t be too tough on yourself Foggy. Learning experience. You’ll do better at the next one 💪

      Name another time I've fallen at the start. I got tripped 100m from the finish in a mile indoor 2020, then 200m in at Millrose in 2022. Then again at world indoors. All 3 times it's been from a person clipping my heels from behind me, so I would say it has been entirely out of my control
