    Wanted to add a few comments. 1st I'm sorry you had some bad experiences. We have stayed at the Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal many times and just love it! Yes I have even stayed in the building you stayed in. Yes its a bit of a walk to the beach from that building but I don't think it's 15 min even for me I'm 66 years old. (it's about 450 yards)You didn't mention there are 2 resorts there. Tucan and Quetzal. They are mirrors of each other and people are free to use both sides equally. I would recommend the Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal. I think it's a great place and a good value.

      Hi there. I agree. I’m sorry you had some bad experiences. We have been 4 times. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. So well kept. Hard working staff who are very pleasant. This is our go to vacation resort, my hubby is a diver so it works well. I’m comfortable being alone when he’s gone. We are going back this summer ❤️😃.

      Melvin. I have been to Cancun only once and my second time in a few months. I book with Riu's. I don't think Riu has a resort out this way. Is this a good alternative for a solo traveler looking to chill? More sun than drinks etc. How far away are say things to do? Mall, clubs etc.

      @@travelmanMN Dear TravelMan. I believe there is a Riu's there near Playa but don't quote me on that. Downtown Playa is walking distance from the resort but we usually take a cab that takes about 5 min. I think it's less then 2 miles from the resort to downtown Playa. It's usually rather warm in the day for a walk like that. There is also some shops just about .5 miles from the resort also. As for clubs? I couldn't say. I think the Iberostar tucan has one of the nicer beaches as far as sand and not many rocks. I have stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso last year 2022 which is much larger than the Tucan and even though it is very nice the beach wasn't as nice with more rocks to deal with. Just my opinion. I don't see why the Tucan/Quetzal wouldn't be fine for a solo traveler. We usually meet people and have nice conversations while there. I like that the resort is located in a gated community with guards controlling access to the area, which is fairly large. Hope this helps.

    What a video and what a resort, but I'm not going in Mexico or Cuba in January

    Thanks for your honest review. Staying in Playa in November. Been researching hotels post COVID-19. The beach here is one of the nicest however reviews are mixed. The Paradisus is looking like the best option. Blessings and continued safe travels.

    Hi, thanks for the review. Like Rob, on the comment list below, I'm wondering if you have more information on the building and room you stayed in? My wife and I will be staying at the Quetzal side in November this year. The room I booked has us in a " Superior Double Room (Near Pool) " I'm now hoping that it is an upgrade and shorter walk then what you had for your experience.
    We have stayed at the Iberostar on Cozumel many years ago, and it was fantastic!! That's why we booked this one.

    Are waitresses serving drinks at the pool and beach area or I have to go to the bar myself?

    Great video, does the resort have any weird al-carte rules. Can I go to a different restaurant every night. Some hotels in this area have weird rules.

      @KimbosWorld1  2 года назад +2

      This one does have some rules for restaurants. They only allow you a certain number of restaurant reservations based on how long your stay is. For 4 nights they gave us 2 restaurant reservations.

    What was the security incident?

    • @KimbosWorld1
      @KimbosWorld1  2 года назад +2

      Won't go into details but basically a drunken idiot was allowed to continue harassing people for some time before anyone did something. No security at the theatre. Pretty sure it was the entertainment people that had to get rid of him. When I complained about it the staff didn't understand why I was upset.

      @@KimbosWorld1 well that’s not terrible. I thought maybe your room was broken into or something. A drunk is not really on the resort. Although they should be dealt with, that wouldn’t have been a concern for me. Great review! Thanks for sharing. My wife booked this place for our family in a few months. Hopefully some of these things are remedied
