Saw him in Hampton, Virginia in the year 2000. What I loved most about the whole concert was the "praise break". I think he did a countdown from 10 to 1, and with each number counting backwards, he, with great excitement, charisma and joy, got everyone in the arena to just praise THE LORD, until finally, when he got to the number 1, the whole arena was quaking with triumphant shouts of praise, applause and prayers to GOD, and Carman just stood there, silent, with his arms outstretched, palms up, head back, eyes closed, as he soaked in GOD's presence and the praises of GOD's people, just praising and thanking GOD.
There was no music involved. It was both a holy and an incredibly exciting and powerful moment that I will never forget. Carman demonstrated that it is possible for entire congregations to get excited about Jesus.
I believe Carman lived for those moments; to hear the saints praise GOD with all their might, just as David did. Now, he joins them in Glory, and he no longer has earthly restrictions to do and to share what his heart loved most: Praising and worshipping GOD.
Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful experience. Praise God for how He gifted Carman... what a blessing!

I got to see him perform live at the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville Alabama when I was a teenager. I'll be 45 this year and I remember it like it was yesterday! Thanks for the music and the memories, Sir. 🙏❤️

I saw him in DE about 30+ years ago at a concert. Before he came on, 3 young teens did a set of Christian rap music, pretty different at the time. Carmen came on and said...the Psalms only had words and not music because God left it that wat so that the music could be interpreted by every generation. I have never forgotten that lesson.
He will be missed. Such a pleasure to listen to his praise music. Seen him in the Young Messiah tour. Praying for his family

He may be gone but his music still remains and is a constant reminder of his passion for winning souls for Christ. I'm glad nobody is calling Carman a superstar or anything. I'm sure he just wanted people to remember as a Man of God who only wanted to point others to Christ with no intention of bringing any fame to himself. That is why he had an alter call at every concert he ever had. I guess you could call him an Evangelist in Christian Music. I too was influenced by his ministry while growing up and re-dedicated my life to Christ at one of his concerts. He will never be forgotten. R.I.P. Carman

I just found out a couple days ago (sorta by accident), and was shocked. Lots of good memories came flooding in from the late 80s/early 90s, when I listened to his music. RIP, he will be greatly missed.

I used to see him time to time in Balboa/Newport Beach,Ca buying flowers for someone years ago. I’d pass him a lot in his Chrysler Van. I really thought he was a great person. God rest his soul. ❤️🙏

He was in Yale, Oklahoma last year and I wasn't able to go be a friend of my mom's was renewing their vows and my mom had passed away 4 years earlier so I went to honor her.
He will be so missed 🥺

We don't have too miss him it was his time too go with Jesus he was blessing I remember seeing on video show on tbn and he was blessing with his music that was in July 9 1994 sometime after that saw video heard his music was so nice of Jesus

We believe that it was complications from a surgery he had for a hiatal hernia. They thought his body had been weakened from previous cancer treatments.
