They X-ray it. If something looks valuable they remove it from your bag. If your lucky your bag ends up on your flight, otherwise it shows up where you are staying a couple days later, otherwise you’ll get your bag back after you get home, after anything of value has been removed.
They didn't show the part where baggage handlers literally hurl your luggage into containers. But creating the system with all the mechanics, electronics and software seems like it would be unbelievably boring. I wouldn't want to work for the company that built it, especially not the ones who had to write the software. It feels like one of those programmes that in theory, you could hack out in five minutes, but definitely wouldn't and the fine tuning and debugging would do your head in.
What they also don’t show is when the X-ray operator sees something valuable in your bag. Their team can steal that item in seconds, and put it back on the conveyor, without impacting the scan rate.
What exactly are you complaining about? Automation is a necessity and is part of human productivity and changes. They also lower airport fees that are levied to airlines that land there. In theory, it lowers ticket prices. Tickets cost far more in decades past than they are now.
@@muraliramakrishnan7648 A depressingly long time ago when I was in primary school, I taught myself programming on a BBC Basic because halfway through the final year, the teachers had run out of school work that they could give me. For years, my life was electronics and programming. Maybe it was because I found out there was more to life, specifically raves, drugs and alcohol, which covered up a lot of issues and childhood trauma. Even then, I'd come home absolutely wasted and start fiddling about with electronics. I did try to go back to engineering but we'd both moved on.
Why so short? Is this supposed to be a trailer? If, mark it as such. Could have gone into lots of details about the processing, lost luggage, how the suitcase ends up on the wrong flight etc. would rate 2 out of ten as currently done, but could have been so much more interesting.
Funny part is, when my luggage and I are reunited and I grab its handle, it feels as though she’s had a rough go. Like she had her own ordeal and she’s happy to be back in my arms.
Hello, bbc is funded by the licence fee, when they make shows they go out of there way to avoid product placement. So why producing this advert for Emirates Airline and Dubai.
As an engineer on this machinery, I can tell you it's not Western technology at all. The computers are a combination of Japanese and Taiwanese hardware running using Malaysian infrastructure. Other countries have smaller systems in New York and Heathrow. However, this one is far more advanced because of how it was mandated by the UAE government. Any questions?
What an absolute waste of a camera crew. How much more interesting this could have been if instead of all the "gee wizz wow" nonsense you had explained how the system worked.
Where's the rest of the video? What an abrupt ending!
Exactly!!
Arrgh and the end !!!
Check the desciption, the name of the full documentary is there
Exactly what I thought!
Pretend it’s an unsolved mystery
- What is the annual baggage handling capacity?
- 1100 Burj Khalifa
Um, what? The video just stopped.
A little underwhelming. Starting from the tediously long intro, to the used baggage tag, to the abrupt ending. I was expecting more from the BBC.
problem with conventional TV programme, not directly to the point, too much "performance" by the host.
Makes it fascinating that Buzz and pals were able to save Woody and Jessie in one of those.
Very educative and informative, no one ever showed this in RUclips. Thank you for the big efforts. Cheers 👌

Oddly enough, Matt and Tom did this at the Heathrow Airport (video title: We Toured the Restricted Parts of Heathrow Airport).
The introduction is familiar only if you travel a lot. For first-time travelers, airports are very confusing.
this is so amazing! but we need a part 2 😅
25.5kg in that little bag! Is Dallas smuggling gold?😂
I like my sootcase!
My suitcase whimpers like a scared dog before it is put on the conveyor belt.
Amazing, who would have thought .... Learn something new every day 👍
That was the weirdest ending…no part 2?
0:30 and don't forget "run up and down the aisle screaming 'let me out let me out LET ME OUT!' before being subduded by the air marshals".
😂😂😂
Toy Story 2 taught us first
Why was the video cut short?
It's part of a much longer programme.
It just stops tho weird
Because they lost his bag .
@@speedygonzales2052😂😂😂😂
I thought they were going to place a secret cam in the suitcase to film what happens to my suitcase after check in

They had to cut that part out - UAE threatened to halt their oil deliveries worldwide if it went public... 😅
Great video...But with all this tech , why is it that they go in random order and come out in random . You would have thought sequencing is possible .

A tremendous amount of engineering involved
Thank God you don't work in my field, good luck in whatever field you are working!

Your presentation is highly interesting to watch. Thank you very much and take care 😊
Your bag has all the fun.
Very interesting.Thank you .
This is amazing 😮, never had imagined this.. wow. Now when am travelling I will be imagining all this machines handling my luggage 😂😂😂
We need a part two
Machine does everything but man monitoring with perfection. Long live thanks.
Sequence at 1:08 was really nicely done 👍

What is the difference between "each individual bag" and "each bag" ? It is a bit like saying my own individual opinion. British tautology ?
How did they make the suitcases animation?
All hail Suresh Babu!!!

Couldn't you have picked up any other airport? New York, London, Frankfurt
I wonder how they used to do it!
They definitely don't teach new employees the old way of doing it since any time there is a tech outage, the luggage hits the fan lol.
Mules, lot of mules.
@@strixcz 🤣
Phenomenal. Ouf
Reminds me of Toy Story, I can imagine woody over here finding buzz
Why does this have the distinct flavour on an Emirates-sponsored PR gimmick? (The game of somke and mirrors that is Emirates)
Just like Toy Story showed us, but in a bigger scale.
Sometimes it doesn't always board your plane. Sometimes it gets left behind.
Butj Khalifa-s measure unit not understood. How many hamburguers are that?
All very clever, but nothing is infallible and baggage does get lost!
How to claim for bag damage
Amazing.
Graeme seems to be your big brother!
OMG 😱. I see it ❤
Excellent

lol supersized chocolate bar. me every time at heathrow
In reality, it's the basis for a future passenger delivery system on really really cheap flights...
Then how come our friend travelling with EMIRATES lost £500 from his hand luggage 😢

Home country to a ruler who has his kids kidnapped
Interesting but a bit slow
This really doesn’t answer like any questions
The whistling is really annoying.
isn't it an ads for Fly Emirates?
Great 😅
my suitcase ends up being destroyed actually
No wonder airport tax is expensive
Western technology, Indian operator and built for dubai sheikh😂

Chinese technology.
So with all this technology why do they continue to lose so many bags?
Whoever did the subtitles is not very familiar with Scottish accents, it seems. Loads of mistakes.
AI
Exactly , wondered what happened to RUclips . For “absolutely “ , the subtitles shows “up solutely” . Lmao
"militantly organised" - really?
BBC. 🎉.

Are duffle bags safe or will they get squashed?

I don’t believe to watch video for this purpose
The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
This video is simply a bullshit. Just to praise Dubai Airport
Pointless malrky!
Yes, where's the rest of the video!!!! What a joke! Then again, may not be, BBC, after all!!!
