    As a Finnish person i'm so glad you talked about the silent people. I remember the first time I ever heard about them was when i was around 13 and was absolutely amazed by it. Even if Reijo has never confirmed the meaning of the art piece I do believe that atleast some part of it has to do with respecting those we lost during the cold war, especially since it's an important part of Finlands history.

      I agree, it likely symbolizes the brave defenders who have lost their lives in their fight against the threat of the Soviet Socialists. Those who fought fiercely for their freedom from tyranny. Not much different to what we're witnessing in Ukraine today. Unfortunately, Ukraine shares a much larger border which makes it much more difficult to contain especially when Russia is attacking from multiple fronts.

    I understand that the dolls of Nagaro, Japan could be creepy but it's always bothered me that they get put in that category. The job and Tsukimi Ayano and others is nothing but beautiful to me. For instance two of the dolls in the school are self portraits made by the last two students to attend before it's 2012 closure. The dolls even wear clothes owned by the two. Many dolls are of former residents, but some are made up people meaning that there new residents to the village even if they're dolls.

    For Silent People, the theory they represent the lives lost during the war is powerful and important. But I also like the thought they just represent Finnish people. We are often described as silent and a field full of quiet, simply designed statues, all different yet similar, feels.. right and comforting, to be honest. We are just quiet, normal people, living our simple lives.

I am writing from Ukrain and as you know it's in a state of war and it's getting to the head. tha fact that you as a male can't leave the country or that every day might be your last. But for some reasone your word's gave me some peace and your conten't help's me to keep my mind busy from everythink goin on in here

    Joplin mo, A town hit by a F5 tornado. In Google Street View you can view the time befor Joplin got hit by the tornado a month or two after the tornado and current-day. Along with this the scar is from satellite images or still visible today

    I will never understand the fascination with the backrooms. Have we gone so creatively bankrupt that we consider empty rooms scary? Not even run down, not a dungeon, not a cellar, no... just rooms.

    • @Vickyanimates
      @Vickyanimates 9 месяцев назад

      It’s not that the empty rooms are visually scary or creepy, it’s more about the existential horror behind the idea of being stuck in a seemingly endless maze with no way out and being completely alone…it’s the idea that you’re trapped in a what appears to be a small space but it’s actually a vast never-ending tunnel that has you running in circles till you’re driven insane. Also this might be subjective, but the yellowish rooms, no windows, the moldy looking carpet and bright lights look suffocating to me. I would feel so claustrophobic.

    The whole town being glitched isn’t weird. It was probably the camera on top of the car, which captured the entire city
