Pile 1 was so hard but probably necessary. My immediate family got into some conspiracy theories and cult beliefs last year and I went from family scapegoat to full-on-abused. A small exhale, whatever tiny hope left that I didn’t want to acknowledge simply expired. Poof! I keep hearing the sound of a candle being sniffed out - indescribable, yet recognizable.

Pile 2...a confirmation of what I have been feeling for a long time now. Have almost always put the other person/s ahead of myself because of a sense of love, familial relationship, responsibility, duty and also gratitude for all they have been and done for me through the years.

Pile 1 was so hard but probably necessary. My immediate family got into some conspiracy theories and cult beliefs last year and I went from family scapegoat to full-on-abused. I've left but I still feel so burdened and it's hard for me to accept that they may never change. I'm still scared of them to this day. That if I move on and am happy they will somehow find me and find ways to continue to hurt me.
