Today we're discussing the decision to leave Northern California and head to Palm Springs instead of continuing down the Pacific Coast. A few years ago we did a two week from trip down the PCH stopping in Big Sur and all the epic places along the way. We couldn't believe how much it has changed since in that short time and rather than "sucking it up" and just getting through it, it was important that we honor what makes us feel the most comfortable.

Just be safe, homophobia is there in the States. Just like a single woman isn't safe. Can you guys image I could walk from the hospital I worked in our capital in the middle of the night after a shift and be safe? I so wasn't used to being threatened that it took a while for me to get used to. It's insane but reality.

Safety is relative, so if you didn't feel safe, moving on was the right thing to do. Best to avoid a confrontation rather than try to survive it.

Love your videos. You two are the best. Also love your doggies. It is a sad fact that we all have to watch our surroundings to make sure we are safe. You two because of who you love and others cause of skin color. There are a lot of people out there that look down on people like me. I am Indian from the Colville Confederated Tribes in Central Washington State. There is a lot of hatred around. I think that is why I love you two. When it comes to safety when travelling, I think you did the right thing to follow your gut instinct (or use your 'street smarts', as some call it). It might be different if you had two Rottweilers instead of those gorgeous Retrievers.

Hi Boys my name is Mark. My husband and I live in Tampa Florida. I never never make public comments or opinions since everyone has one. Lol. However I feel a compelled to tell you how impressed we are with your life choices. You're living for today and planning for tomorrow. Most people don't do that. They either live for today, only, or plan for tomorrow, only, not both. We placed heavy emphasis on the planning for tomorrow part and didn't start really living until we were in our forties. I'm an electrical engineer and my husband is an architect. We saved and invested since college and now I'm retired at 50 and Charles decided to continue to work from home. We spend our money on traveling heavily around Europe but after watching your well developed videos we feel we're missing a great deal in our country. I always have to be hyper-aware of my surroundings when I go out and travel. I do it for safety and also to calm my anxiety. Loved the video! It made my day, especially with having being sick.

Seeing you guys travel, work, and love each other brings me hope for my future. I think it is super cool that you guys are doing and cant wait to see where you guys go next!
Glad you’re having a wonderful time in various areas in beautiful California, and most importantly you’re safe and sound. Sometimes when I’m out with my boyfriend I carry a small block of steel in my laptop bag just to have peace of mind when traveling out in unusual places.
I even know a space shuttle aerospace engineer (Roger Boisjoly) who’s safety concerns weren’t listened to by his managers, and left the company after the challenger disaster.
It's pretty sad that in 2020 we still have to think like that...be safe

Glad you moved on when you didn't feel safe. Love seeing the pups - they must be loving you having home all the time and travelling with you. The drone footage was lovely. My first Golden, Sam, used to sit on me until I got up. Actually my little Golden Doodle does too but he's much smaller and lighter than a Golden :-).

"How beautiful you two are," I say this because I am little older probably a lot because I was a teen in the 80's, and lived with the horror of what HIV & Aids to my generation as gay men. However, not to be melancholy of that part of time in history of my life. Now I can let go of most of all that hurt , ugliness & put it the past where it belong. Yes, not to forget those we I lost but see and enjoy the beauty of today. In short, I can be happy, content, and proud not prideful of being born a gay man in America again. Watching this in April 2022! You guys are in Palm Springs! I lived there (and Palm Desert) in 1990-92 after leaving Virginia, before moving back to San Diego. I didn't know you guys RV'd there so I must watch more of the older videos! Waiting for your Sunday show to appear, have some time to relax and watch.
