Affinity has many tools for repairing damaged photos. In this tutorial, I'll show you some of the foundational techniques for restoring old pictures in Affinity Photo.
I hope you enjoyed the video! If you want to learn more, you can check out my photo restoration course. affinity.sale/restoration
Is this course still available?
@@iwilson16 It is! 😊
@@AffinityRevolution Yes! Found it eventually (and subscribed :-))
I find it extremely satisfying restoring damaged photos. There’s something special about it. Thanks for sharing!
I agree! It's amazing see the before and after. 😊
@@AffinityRevolution And I'm learning to enjoy the journey as well. There is/can be something very peaceful about taking my time and just slowly removing blemishes, for instance. BUT... I anticipate the surprise and delight as I start sending back to clients/friends/family restored photos. Your videos make this possible for me! Thanks.
I'm sold - buying the course right NOW...and as a Mother's Day gift for my mom I'm gonna 'secretly' restore some photos I know she has that needs some TLC. Thank you sooo much, Ally!
That's so nice of you! I'm sure she will love your gift. 😊

Awesome as always. Thank you!
Thanks so much Dean! 😊
Excellent tutorial! How is Ezra coming along. You two are like a `tag team'. Best wishes to both of you!
Ezra is doing well, but his voice is still weak. We're hoping for improvement someday, but it might take a while. In the meantime, he is helping me plan and edit my videos. 😊
@@AffinityRevolution Great. As I said, you two are a "tag team"! Make sure Ezra knows we are all thinking of him and hoping for the best.
Great success, thank you !
You're welcome! Thanks for watching. 😊
Are you scanning the picture or taking a photo of the picture with your camera?
A scanner works better, but a camera works well too if that's all you have.
Will the course work with Affinity 1? or do you have to have Affinity 2?
This course was actually made with Affinity 1, so it's even *better* if you're using Affinity 1. 🙂
Question- for your restoration course - does the ebook have anything extra that the videos don't have or is it just a written transcript of the videos?
It's just a written transcript of the videos, so it's 100% optional. 😊
@@AffinityRevolution Thanks for your quick reply. I will definitely be buying the course. That will be the second course of yours. I've purchased. Great price and excellent teacher.
Hi, many thanks. How can I restore old color fotos from the 1970s with a severe color cast due to aging?
I have a few lessons on color correction in my Photo Restoration course. 😊 courses.affinityrevolution.com/p/photo-restoration-for-beginners
Wonderful.
Thank you! 😊
Excellent!!
Thank you Greg! I'm glad you liked it. 😊
Great tutorial again! Now i'll have to take care that my 100 year old photos won`t look too new or perfect 😉
Haha very true! 😄
That was great. 👍
Thank you! Glad you liked it. 😊
what is the difference of using directly on the photo or using a layer of pixels using the Inpainting brush?
Inpainting on a separate layer allows you to turn the changes off if you change your mind later, or to lower the layer opacity if you think the changes are a little too much.
@@AffinityRevolution ohh
@@AffinityRevolution but you use current & below this apply on the two layers , if you see this part on your video we can't see the changes
Thank you.
You're welcome! Glad you liked video. :)
