This will FOREVER be my favorite Spice Girls song. It's bittersweet in a way... hearing this song reminds me of better times that are now gone forever... What I wouldn't give to go back to when life was so much better... we didn't even realize just how good we had it.
It can still be as good if you let yourself reconnect with how they made you feel, while ignoring the judgmental who tell you to stop living in the past. Listen to the Girls, all ypu need is positivity 😁

@@ariaciano6910 I also wish she had more action at singing. I think they didn't let her 😢 . I remember they even said she didn't sing in most of the time , at shows, her mic used to be off 😢
Honestly these Queens were way ahead of their time style wise, not to mention how fashion is literally on a rewind. Victoria with her cat ears, high ponytail and skin tight pvc catsuit is so reminiscent of Ariana Grande "Dangerous Woman", Mel B with her avant, abstract punkish accessories that you see in a lot of Vivienne Westwoods collections as well as Jeremy Scott. Mel C was sporting trainers as a dressed up look long before this trend hit the modern wave a lot of us are riding now...coloured hair accessories too. Platform shoes were nothing until Geri and Emma stepped on the scene. Love love love that their legacy and contribution to the world goes beyond music, there will never be such a superlative group of girls as them. They are the apex of their arena in my opinion
Well the present was shaped by the past so whatever's new was inspired. Also, 'they' solely wasn't 'ahead of their time', because music made back then especially for formed music groups were massively helped, shaped by a many, money pumped, formed by the highest paid in specific job roles etc- and were mostly manufactured by those around them in MASSIVE comparison to today's sort of almost DIY music (although record label control is still apparent today, it pales in comparison to the control given when signing over rights etc). The highest paid costume designers etc, all their songs were written as with most with music labels, those who're on record deals don't usually complain if they're successful as opposed to the strife of unsuccessful singers feeling 'controlled' because of what control they'd signed themselves over to (An extreme example of this is how Korean group 'K-Pop' musicians can be infamously held to very harsh measures, many faint, are paid pretty low). I'm not saying they have no credit, I'm saying they were really lucky they got the assistance they did, same with a ton of others; like many famous boy-bands, all your favorite of those were put on a pedestal etc from day 1 thanks to money, buying them appearances and performances, bought bias reviews, definitely faked hype, given pre-made 'safe' hit songs etc.
I do wonder if Geri and Emma liked wearing the platform shoes in the beginning. They were used because of Mel C being taller and they wanted all the girls to be the same height for performances.
OMG. I’m so glad you asked this. I think the public has an overwhelming desire to know each individual that is watching this. I hope you come back and ask the same question every year. I’m looking forward to following your channel for more insights! Brilliant question.
This entire album takes me back to my childhood. It's amazing how intense and vivid my memories are of that period of my life. I wish I could go back and relive them again.
Mel C was definitely the vocal heart of the group (Emma being a strong runner-up as the other competent vocalist). However, Geri was definitely the creative powerhouse of the group who came up with their name, many video concepts, and apparently had a larger say in the writing and production of the songs than the others. What she lacked in vocal talent, she made up for in business acumen at the time.
@Jean Louis Geri was paramount in so many things within this legendary band, and without her the SG never would have been what we've known back then. However Mel Chisholm was their backbone vocally-wise.

Me and my sister Bianca used to love this song back in the late 90's and always got excited when the music video came on. I even remember using a tape recorder to record the audio from my TV one time and used to listen to it nonstop... Bianca passed away in her sleep earlier in May so whenever I hear this song I cry thinking about her now. 😥
@@jp3813 The difference is they're doing it without shitting all over men. In the 90's people knew how to make strong diverse characters without shoving it in your face or pushing an agenda, Star Trek DS9 and Voyager are prime examples. You never seen Sisko whining about racism or Janeway trampling all over her male crew members because wahmen power.
Songs like this are time machines, I grew up listening to rock and metal musics every day of my life but I sincerely admit that Spice girls' first two albums are iconic. Haha well put! Didn't mind the spice girls back then and now as an adult I can say, this is definetely a decent piece of music indeed! The 90s was a great time for music as a whole anyway, all the pop music was great and then it went down hill at the turn of the millennium.
If you lived through the peak, you should realize that all of them stood out for different strengths. They wouldn't be the most iconic girl group if only one member was the favorite.
@@voiceofreason2237 Agreed. Also no reason to always pint them against each other. They are a group with different strength and each one sang solo lines. Everyone contibuted and some member who weren't the strongest vocally were good at writing songs etc.

Anyone notice the Spicebus is a form of Geri's union jack dress ? I just realized it had the peace sign on the back just like her dress from the Brit awards
If you grew up listening to this kind of music,THEN YOUR CHILDHOOD WAS AWESOME!!!!!
I did!! And now passing it on to my 11 year old daughter
@@lilykinney467 Amen
there will never be another girl band like the Spice Girls
OMG *emotional*
😢 the angels of 90s pop music
One of the most iconic music intros ever I my opinion.. Super nostalgic and sensual
Melanie C is extremely pretty and her voice is amazing
Return to 1997...
My fave Spice Girls song. Ive been a fan of them since I was 6.
Just love Mel Cs vocals
Everyone marching in military clothes, Victoria casually in a mini dress! She didn’t break character loool
Haha true xd
yeaahhhh best part... always posh character 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
That was a good movie. I need to watch it again sometime.
Yes well done, you noticed the scripted joke. 🙄 Victoria didn't choose her costume for that scene, the producers did.
@@CourtxSchultz you can still watch it, on RUclips
I was so addicted to this song back then! Actual shivers and addicted again, love the nostalgia :)
Mel C is so stunning in this I can’t even
It's a nostalgic day for me, that's why I'm here. Great singers ❤❤❤
*Wow The Memories* ...This song was just *background* music when i was a kid, and now listening to it after all these years it brings back everything else that was going on in the *forefront* at the time.
Haha well put! Didn't mind the spice girls back then and now as an adult I can say, this is definetely a decent piece of music indeed! The 90s was a great time for music as a whole anyway, all the pop music was great and then it went down hill at the turn of the millennium.
Mel C was always the most talented one not to mention absolutely gorgeous. I know this since 1996, why are people just realising that now??!
Telma Alexandra I confess she wasn’t my favorite back then, now I realize I was blind
She ways always my favourite
If you lived through the peak, you should realize that all of them stood out for different strengths. They wouldn't be the most iconic girl group if only one member was the favorite.
@@voiceofreason2237 Agreed. Also no reason to always pint them against each other. They are a group with different strength and each one sang solo lines. Everyone contibuted and some member who weren't the strongest vocally were good at writing songs etc.
She was my favorite but all of them are amazing in their own way.
One of the best tracks from Spice Girls!!! Mel C is masterpiece!!!
Still listening to this in November of 2022. Classic! ♥️
I could listen to this song over and over. Love the Spice Girls!!!!
They are all so gorgeous and talented.
Nostalgia ×1000😢😭
Regresen 90's!!!!
X2
Evelyn Barboza Araya me too😫
X3
Nostalgia..
They all look stunning In this video! I remember summer camp I think the year was 1999 and my friends and I chose this song to perform to in front of the whole camp! And I was Posh … Victoria was and always will be my ultimate favourite spice girl! She’s breath taking in this video!!!! Ugh the memories 🤍🤍🤍🤍
When I was growing up Baby Spice was my favorite hands down, but damn Sporty really hits it out of the park with that voice.
I think baby spice now looks like troll spice.
@@shonuff8880 Thats not very nice but lol.
She is still quite beautiful.
@@shonuff8880 she literally still looks amazing and sounds amazing too
This song never gets old. I still love Victoria
