Lilac is a purple flower. Lil-i-ac is the Romanian word for 'bat'. They're Romanian. They're an amazing band, her vocals are so unique - something we need so desperately in this world of bland sameness. Your reactions are also spot on and genuine. Keep it up!

I've followed LILIAC for over 4 years now, I've watched them grow, read everything I could find on them, and I've got to say, this has become THE LILIAC EXPERIENCE, THE JOURNEY, I've laughed and even shed a few tears! It's been an absolute joy to have been able to whiteness this great family's gift's and blessings! I've not seen them live, hopefully one day! These kids have been an inspiration to see and hear! I'm sure they will change over their lives, but it's great to see and hear them create rock history!
Agreed. I found them a few years ago before any of their music was available on streaming services. I reached out to the band, and Papa Liliac actually emailed me mp4s for both Crazy Train and Enter Sandman so I could add them to my personal playlist. Fantastic band, even better people.

Unbelievable as it may seem. Melodia is so so much better now than she was then. Since she is not playing bass and has time to focus on her vocals. She's turning into a truly outstanding performer. The band seems to have really stepped it up several notches over their last tour. Great reaction. OBTW When you get to the Newly released Not Afraid or the Seven Nation Army cover. You will see how much better she's become.
I discovered them on RUclips years ago when they were very young doing the cover of "Wild thing", and been following them since, watching them evolve has been so fun, finally got to see them in August at the Iowa State Fair and got to meet all of them, their performance was outstanding and after the show they stick around to sign autographs and pictures, their fans mean everything to them. this has to be one of the disciplined bands you'll see today and there so young and they have a sound of band that's playing together for 25 years. Sam is a shredder on lead, they just eat covers for breakfast, they are so strong with the covers and there own music is awesome and they do everything in house, there independent also. I think there the best new band out there myself, and I'm not the only one, ha. RO&RH!!!

Thankyou for a considered reaction to my favourite band of all time and I've been listening to bands since the early 60s . Now you should either go back to their beginning and react to songs like WILD THING , ROCK AND ROLL ALL NIGHT .or THE TROOPER all tribute covers to songs by bands who shaped their love of hard rock , or , fast forward to their latest original releases DEAR FATHER or NOT AFRAID which will really show you Melody's octave range , whatever you choose to do next will be OK as they haven't produced a bad performance yet . Melodie is not only a terrific vocalist but she’s also a multi instrumentalist. She plays guitar, bass, flute. She’s actually an terrific bass player. They’ve been on my podcast show a few times.

After Enter Sandman I found this one. It's Lil-e-ac. You said it correctly first time of Enter Sandman. Lol They promised the Fangs a ballad for the Queen of Hearts album and they gave us a power ballad. I'm not a fan of poor audio that's not released by the group. Just nor my thing. There are some live good quality that they have released. MeloDia discovered DIO at 15. He is her main inspiration. Vinny Appice ( Black Sabbath/DIO drummer) loves her and Liliac. Check out Country Girl live from Vinny Appice Sabbath Knights show. He requested her to sing 5 songs. It's on Liliac channel and Dr OMEB site as well. She doesn't sound like DIO. However, she puts in all the inflections and mannerisms to give you the DIO feel. Just like the live cover of Piece of My Heart. I grew up as a teen listening to Janice. MeloDia gives all the inflections to put you back to the first time I heard her sing that song. Check out my favorite of the Queen of Hearts album. Dear Father. I think her vocals will astound you. I had a feeling that this would be the next Liliac (pronounced Lily Ack) song you would do. It is a true masterpiece. Great reaction Rosalie... you are in a great progessive time line for this band called Liliac (Lil-EEE=-ack) meaning "Bat" in Romanian. The next two I would do in order from their originals would be "Dear Father" and then their latest "Not Afraid - Extended version".
Great reaction. Another reactor that knows the band really well at this point has essentially said that if Dio and Janice Joplin had a love child.. she'd sound exactly like Melody. Hard to argue with. Her cover of Joplin's "Piece of my heart.." stunning. That piece and their original "Mars" were both filmed at a live concert in Cummings, GA. Both are nothing short of incredible. The video I saw come up today from India where they headlined "Unity Fest" shows even more progression.. melody has moves I've not seen.. was doing what looked like martial arts moves, kicks on stage like a female Elvis and .. hell, her stage presence prior was captivating.. her new moves .. I was dumbstruck and it took me a few to figure out what to say about what I was seeing once again. They keep doing that to the lot of us. Melody has way more range even still. You still haven't seen what she's fully capable of. You should React to Dear Father and Not Afraid (Extended Version) to see range you wouldn't expect with her level of rasp/grit. In fact you haven't seen what Samuel is fully capable of either.
They are completely independent, they write, produce, all their own music, mom sells their merchandise, dad produces and mixes everything. Sam edits the videos that dad makes, BTE gets their shows signed but dad drives their tour bus.
Their covers of Ronnie James Dio, never fail to raise my spirits. Last in Line was a request made by RJD's Widow and Family and was in support of Cancer research.
Never heard of them before. I'll have to remedy that quickly! The lead singer has a touch of Bonnie Tyler in her voice but is also able to sing crisp and clear higher notes. I'm very impressed and will start searching for more from them. Thanks for broadening my horizon, Rosalie
This was filmed at the beginning of the pandemic on Huntington Beach in California. Any other time, there would have been people EVERYWHERE, but since the beaches were all closed, they had to get permission to even go there to film the video. You should do a double feature of Liliac. One when they were really young, either Wild Thing when Melody was like 14 or so, or the song Stay (which does not have Ethan or Justin in it) where Melody was 11. Then show one of their newest videos, either the cover of Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes, or their original Not Afraid to see how they all have grown and have only gotten better and better!
You know what I really find amazing?... The fact that you and Melody actually look like you could be sisters.. You two really look alike to say the least. 🙂
Welcome to the Rabbit Hole that is Liliac. I've been following them since their release of the Enter Sandman video. You will find that all of their covers are spot on to the originals with some of their own flair added. And you will find that they are superb song writers from their original songs. The way they transition into and out of guitar solos is flawless, and the solos themselves fit the melody of the song so well that you forget it's even a solo. Sam doesn't just shred just for the sake of shredding, his solos are a compliment to the overall feel of the song. The band started out in the L.A. area by performing on the Santa Monica Pier, that drew so large of crowds that Pier authorities banned them from playing there any more. So they just started playing in the basement studio. However in late 2020, the family moved to Georgia, I'm assuming somewhere near or in Atlanta. As one of their first videos from there was at the Georgia Guidestones in the late summer of 2021, called "Mystery." But as you might have heard, they were destroyed by someone earlier this year. "Sail Away" was the last video they did on the West Coast before moving out east. It was essentially the swan song so to speak...sailing away? Get it? But as far as more of their songs, just browse their RUclips channel and pick any of their Official videos. None are copyrighted, as they are an independent band and only get their music out by word of mouth, and because of that they love people reacting to their videos. They'll even give Shout Outs on their community tab to reactions they find extraordinary. So just start browsing and reacting, and your own channel will pick up subs just for covering Liliac.
If you want to see if Melody can hit the lower registers, check out their newly released video of Vertigo (Live in Woodstock Georgia). It was filmed about the same time as Sail Away from their Queen of Hearts tour in 2021.. It's a high quality video.

Glad you love this band ! They are very good. You have some more to discover about Liliac (cover of "seven nation army" is incredible like "crazy train" or "las in line" or......). They are in my top 5 bands with Nightwish. Did you know Epica ? It's a symphonie metal like Nightwish. For a first look: "Sancta terra - retrospect live" feat Floor Jansen is a good beginning ;).
I'm glad you did the music video first, the live is good, but without the orchestra and choir it loses a lot in the performance which is a shame. Liliac are indeed a great band. Oh and in case the others haven't told you yet it is Lil-lee-ack not the purple flower 😁
Okay, so.... Great reaction, btw. But I had to comment on one thing. You ever listen to a song and hear a perfect note? That one note, or chord in a song. Tha perfect place in the song that pulls the emotion straight out of your chest and you feel that tear in your eye? Case-in-point: The opening chords of the final guitar solo in Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. The part of Sail Away where Melody cries off that last note and her brother picks it up and uses it to kick off his guitar solo. Yeah that got me.
Quick note, they're Liliac not lilac. One's a flower the other is their heritage (can't remember which) for Bat. Check out them covering The White Stripes 7 Nation Army.

Playing together for 5 years prior to ever touring will do that.
Now they have 3 USA Tours under their belt and are planning a European Tour in 2023.

I had a feeling that this would be the next Liliac (pronounced Lily Ack) song you would do. It is a true masterpiece. It showcases all of their individual talents as well as shows their versatility as a band. I can't wait for your next Liliac reaction. If this song had been released in the 80's they would be legends Its a shame that rock will never have the place it used to have as generations get progressively dumber In USA but there's still hope in Europe and other places!

Great reaction. Another reactor that knows the band really well at this point has essentially said that if Dio and Janice Joplin had a love child.. she'd sound exactly like Melody. Hard to argue with. Her cover of Joplin's "Piece of my heart.." stunning. That piece and their original "Mars" were both filmed at a live concert in Cummings, GA. Both are nothing short of incredible. The video I saw come up today from India where they headlined "Unity Fest" shows even more progression.. melody has moves I've not seen.. was doing what looked like martial arts moves, kicks on stage like a female Elvis and .. hell, her stage presence prior was captivating.. her new moves .. I was dumbstruck and it took me a few to figure out what to say about what I was seeing once again. They keep doing that to the lot of us. They are completely independent, they write, produce, all their own music, mom sells their merchandise, dad produces and mixes everything. Sam edits the videos that dad makes, BTE gets their shows signed but dad drives their tour bus.
You should react to Rosalia’s live performance in the Goya’s (spanish film awards ceremony) 2019, “Me quedo contigo”. It will blow your mind.

Never heard of them before. I'll have to remedy that quickly! The lead singer has a touch of Bonnie Tyler in her voice but is also able to sing crisp and clear higher notes. I'm very impressed and will start searching for more from them. Thanks for broadening my horizon, Rosalie
This was filmed at the beginning of the pandemic on Huntington Beach in California. Any other time, there would have been people EVERYWHERE, but since the beaches were all closed, they had to get permission to even go there to film the video. You should do a double feature of Liliac. One when they were really young, either Wild Thing when Melody was like 14 or so, or the song Stay (which does not have Ethan or Justin in it) where Melody was 11. Then show one of their newest videos, either the cover of Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes, or their original Not Afraid to see how they all have grown and have only gotten better and better!
You know what I really find amazing?... The fact that you and Melody actually look like you could be sisters.. You two really look alike to say the least. 🙂
Welcome to the Rabbit Hole that is Liliac. I've been following them since their release of the Enter Sandman video. You will find that all of their covers are spot on to the originals with some of their own flair added. And you will find that they are superb song writers from their original songs. The way they transition into and out of guitar solos is flawless, and the solos themselves fit the melody of the song so well that you forget it's even a solo. Sam doesn't just shred just for the sake of shredding, his solos are a compliment to the overall feel of the song.
The band started out in the L.A. area by performing on the Santa Monica Pier, that drew so large of crowds that Pier authorities banned them from playing there any more. So they just started playing in the basement studio. However in late 2020, the family moved to Georgia, I'm assuming somewhere near or in Atlanta. As one of their first videos from there was at the Georgia Guidestones in the late summer of 2021, called "Mystery." But as you might have heard, they were destroyed by someone earlier this year.
"Sail Away" was the last video they did on the West Coast before moving out east. It was essentially the swan song so to speak...sailing away? Get it?
But as far as more of their songs, just browse their RUclips channel and pick any of their Official videos. None are copyrighted, as they are an independent band and only get their music out by word of mouth, and because of that they love people reacting to their videos. They'll even give Shout Outs on their community tab to reactions they find extraordinary. So just start browsing and reacting, and your own channel will pick up subs just for covering Liliac.
If you want to see if Melody can hit the lower registers, check out their newly released video of Vertigo (Live in Woodstock Georgia). It was filmed about the same time as Sail Away from their Queen of Hearts tour in 2021.. It's a high quality video.

Glad you love this band ! They are very good. You have some more to discover about Liliac (cover of "seven nation army" is incredible like "crazy train" or "las in line" or......). They are in my top 5 bands with Nightwish. Did you know Epica ? It's a symphonie metal like Nightwish. For a first look: "Sancta terra - retrospect live" feat Floor Jansen is a good beginning ;).
I'm glad you did the music video first, the live is good, but without the orchestra and choir it loses a lot in the performance which is a shame. Liliac are indeed a great band. Oh and in case the others haven't told you yet it is Lil-lee-ack not the purple flower 😁
Okay, so.... Great reaction, btw. But I had to comment on one thing. You ever listen to a song and hear a perfect note? That one note, or chord in a song. Tha perfect place in the song that pulls the emotion straight out of your chest and you feel that tear in your eye? Case-in-point: The opening chords of the final guitar solo in Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. The part of Sail Away where Melody cries off that last note and her brother picks it up and uses it to kick off his guitar solo. Yeah that got me.
