Well well well, I guess all my early years playing "Decent 1 and 2" will finally pay off today. All that flying around 360 made me dizzy at first, but I got used to it. Time to join DRL.
Sorry I will not spend money on a sim that had some physics that were off in the beta version. I couldn’t ever get my quad to fly right. The settings were hard to get right
Kruel about a month before the paid release. I couldn’t stand it so I went back to VD I would rather spend that 20 bucks on a real quad at this point cause I don’t know if it’s even worth it based off past experience
Hi Kale, the latest version of the game has physics that are very much improved over the beta. I feel like you might change your mind if you gave the latest version a shot.
Right now the most accurate quad is the Racer 3, having flown one IRL I can tell you that this is the most accurate sim, it might feel foreign to you because you are flying a Racer 3 in game. However they will be updating the models for the 5", 4" and 3" quads in the future and that will also blow the doors off any thing in the market currently.
a 24hr Trial code would be great to test this game out before purchasing or a demo that has one map but cant be part of the tryout would be great so you can see if it is any good now just blindly throwing $20 at the game from people saying they fixed the physics is hard to do when have been burned too many times by games just not performing as advertised.
SO steam gave you a refund I really want to try it but don't want to be stuck with a game I will never play I could never get the Beta to fly right or how i wanted it, It seems like the Gta V quad mod may be the best at this point and worth a shot But I would really like to enter the tryout. Also for this round are you limited to what you can change in the sim to keep it similar to The Real DRL and be sim spec?
I understand. That's something the dev team is looking into, in terms of giving players an opportunity to make changes to the settings of the drones. There will be certain settings that will remain locked for modes like Race Mode and Multiplayer and events like 2018 Swatch DRL Tryouts even after the feature is released. This will be for the reason you suggested, to keep the sim in line with real world physics.
I got along pretty well with the beta drl launcher app on mac. It was the perfect start for me into fpv flying, for rainy days, times my quad needed some repair time. Now all of the sudden, it is not playable any more! According to latest reviews on "steam" things have not gotten any better now in the "real" game. At the moment I cannot even afford 20€ for the sim. Why don't you let us just keep the beta and do some drl tryout stuff with payment only? Wouldn't be enough money? Seems like it, and not only that leaves a bad taste in my mind ;-) Gab 707 was the winner! Bye, bye DRL! I can fly and have fun without you now...
The sim was never intended to be free. If you ever get the opportunity, you really should give this new version shot, I'd hate for you to miss out on an awesome experience.
Oh and who thought it would be a good idea to remove the mouse? i lost my s#it when i found out that u cant use it anymore.. "physics are realistic" Really? i guess you all fly drones on the moon.. takes you ages to dive a building..
The dev team is working on re-implementing mouse controls in a future release. It was causing issues for some players. The racing physics of the of sim have been informed and tested by feedback from professional drone racers. While the team is constantly striving to improve them, the physics are something the are very proud of.
TheDarkstar826 this is the most realistic sim i have ever played, where do you feel its off? They just updated the physics for this release, give it a try
The sim's physics are a huge priority for the dev team. Based on feedback they've gotten from pro racers, it's pretty spot on. But they're always looking for to improve, can you share where you think the physics are off? Thanks!
The quads are modelled off the ones used in DRL, they carry recording equipment to benefit spectating/production value. This makes them feel heavier and different to other quads. The physics to me are spot on I think it just takes some time to get used to characteristics of this racer.

Drone Racing League I started flying on the beta sim and it was great. I just don’t have 20 bucks to buy and try this sim.
When does the new season start

u had the beta for more than a year... and it was way better than the actual game. I bought it yesterday and after 30 min i got a refund
Hi Gre gor, I appreciate your feedback. What exactly do think is better about the beta version of the sim?

Holler when you guys come back to Vegas.
why isn't the sim free anymore?
The sim was only meant to be free during it's beta and early access phase.

It was awesome but you dont let choice to peoples like us, the Launcher just update & block all the free BETA versions, that not fair.

When is the final tryout cutoff? ie. when do the top qualifiers get picked and told they will be competing at the final event on site
The tryouts will end on January 15th, 2018. Qualifiers will be alerted soon after.
lots of people crying that the game costs money... come on people they gotta pay the devs some how...
THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH YOUR SIM.... THE PHYSIC IS OFF. i WONDER IF YOU GUYS RATHER SEE VIDEO OF US TRYING OUT REAL RACING?
