    I was fortunate enough to meet Efren Reyes in a fast food chain in his home town. My whole family went bonkers seeing him. Then, he overheard us wanting to take a photo with him. He just smiled and he let us have a family photo with him. He's simple yet pretty awesome fellow!

      Damn, I'd love to visit the Philippines, they have the best pool and I'm also interested in there martial arts systems, and I also understand the dirt weed is cheap but plentiful, sounds like a great place. But...my baby just happens to be a dog, of a breed that makes travel difficult. So, unfortunately that's a no go for me. Maybe many years from now...

I ended up watching this video because of watching Reyes play and all the comments about how the people were. All I did was go to google and typed in something like "is a $1000 a lot in the Philippines and this utube video was in here about $100. I also found a shit ton of OMG videos of women travelers. this alternate break thing reduces the advantage of filipino players or say who ever he is. isnt that pool requires accuracy in shooting and nailing your opponent as much as possible by score or to his chair. as as well as the jump cues should have just been pure angles , rail to rail that is how pool should be played.

      Ko Ping-Chung is an elite player. No reason for a 60 year old legend Reyes to be ashamed to lose a young gun. Chung would give a 30 or 40 year old Reyes a run for his money.
      And over yonder on the other table is Ralf Souquet, Reyes' nemesis. A player that beat Reyes more than he lost to him.

    • @JohnBowl14690
      @JohnBowl14690 3 года назад

      I would not say "lucky" because the reverse could also be true. The competition gets better every year. Efren is a legend, but that's not to say that he could beat everyone if he were 30 years old today. There's no "LUCK" here. It was meant to be this way. It's fine to say Efren was the best ever in his days. That is 100% true. Nobody can take that away. But it's wrong to disrespect today's best players. I personally think Ko would beat Efren if they were both 30. But that's just my opinion and I don't go around saying that because I have the highest respect for Efren as well. Furthermore, nobody knows who would beat who.

    I’m sorry but Efren has been declining the past 10 years and he should’ve retired 5 years ago. Everyone misses, but multiple times during a match and at that level can’t happen. I think his pride is his weakness, not wanting to retire and let the game go and I respect that but when kids like starting whooping you it’s time to pack it up.

    Jason the so called computer guy can't even type in the banner Ko's name properly Ko Ping Chung (Correctly Chinese Pronunciation) This Ken Guy is in the Stone Ages... He talks and not once gives credit to the Great Taiwan Players My Favorite Players Not Efren... Foolish commentary not once mentioning Super Star New World 10 Ball Champion Ko Pin Yi (My Favorite Player) or World 8 Ball Champion Chang Jung Lin, or Yang Ching Shun... He's biased always towards certain players... I get tired listening to his implied gibberish... Little Ko is a great young Junior World Champion, just finished 3rd in the World 10 Ball World Championships... Little Ko is a lion like Big Brother... Those two can beat anyone in the world and sometimes easily,,, deserving Big Time Respect just like Efren... Efren had his day time, These new young great players deserve there top dog status Winning CSI here... Both Ko's New Kings of The Jungle ...

      Of course Ken is Pro-Efren, I think everyone that knows him knows that but he did gave credits to Ko in this game for playing a great game. Now, if you're the one doing the commentary I have no doubt that you'll be biased too towards the Taiwanese players. Right?

    • @winterguitarkingyea
      @winterguitarkingyea 9 лет назад

      Hi Mark, I'm biased towards excellence, Buddy Hall was always a better player than Efren so I get tired of listening to talk that is simply bullshit ... The Idiots cannot even pronounce these great champions known world over from Taipei names correctly... So since they cannot do that they should not be announcing ... This is a paid for event 100.00 bucks for the event expensive ... Anyways Ken is far from being an expert about many things in the sport, his endless praise of Efren wasn't deserved... Praising Ko brothers was,,, it's current,,, it's now ... Both Ko at there younger than Efren Age are better players than Efren was at there age ...

    • @markustellar
      @markustellar 9 лет назад +4

      Buddy Hall and the Ko brothers are great players and probably(maybe not) the better 9/10 ball players against Efren but Efren is the best all-around pool player ever. If the Ko brothers should dominate the other games like 1 pocket, bank pool, 8 ball and other pool games that I may not know of then it's end of the discussion. :)

    And I like Efren Reyes a great deal, but he is not the best ever. Willie Mosconi is. He won the World Championship 13 out of the 15 years he played....Plus his record run of 526 balls. (and then he did not miss...he quit...he got tired!!!!)

      @tunaross4261 8 лет назад +2

      +Don G During Mosconi's era...there's only him and a 'very few' others with championship quality. Limited to americans. Whereas Efren's time...billiard is over populated with players that is capable of winning it. Americans and the rest of the world's best are now converging together. It's Efren's unique and endepth knowledge of the game that's overwhelmingly visible throughout his career that makes the difference. He wasn't called the 'magician' just to make him feel good.
