Olivera’s real name is Katriina and she indeed did write the song herself. She’s written for other artists as well and surely the best-known is DJ Tiesto’s Affliction. That’s a great song and she does the singing. What comes to Thank God I’m an Atheist, I think a lot of people have taken it in a wrong way. She’s not judging any religion or any people, just tells a personal story with a little irony (just look at the title of the song). BTW, thanks again for great reaction video. I was already waiting for it. You really give insightful reviews and truly pay attention to the music and artists. It’s unbelievable to me that you remember such many UMK artists from ten years or so back.

I'm so happy, we have same opinion on Isaac, your thoughts are really fair I think Isaac can do very well in esc, but I see Rasmus winning there is no bad song in umk this year tbh
yea Isaac is already my 2nd most played song in the whole Eurovision season so far. but i think youre right that The Rasmus have pretty much already won this.
"Sun numero" means "Your number". "Sun" is a shortened version of "sinun". It's a song about lost love. She's thinking about deleting a telephone number of a person she used to be with. And the Läntinen song. He sings "life carries me, like Harley and Davidson". And about the Isaac song. "Jäbä" is slang for "guy". So, "hot guy". Ice in Finnish is "jää". Seems Google translate doesn't get that.
Isaac is also my favourite; I feel his song feels the most current, very in touch with what's in style nowadays, yet also the most fresh and original of all songs. I love his style and his energy, it's exciting and magnetic. Like you. I am slightly worried if he will be able to pull this off live, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. Olivera is my number two, I just feel that it's a really touching song and I love the depth and intelligence in her lyrics. The Rasmus looks like a sure winner though, I would say it's mostly because of their reputation ecause I think this is quite a safe song to be honest. It's very legit but to me it feels like they're just doing a "routine" song, there's very little that surprises me here. I don't like the lyrics either, there's an "ooh-la-la"-ness about them that I find really lame. Otherwise, there's really no bad song here. Many fans seem to like Bess, whose sass I like but don't really vibe with this type of song. Cyan Kicks is fun and energetic but their lyrics are cheap, Younghearted I quite like actually (probably my number 3). Great to see so many songs in Finnish! I was kinda fearing a final with 7 rock songs, since the Finns seem think they to do best with rock, but I'm pleasantly surprised with the variation of styles. The production levels are insanely high and as I said, there's not a single bad song here, so yeah this is a great national final. Hopefully Finland will stay on track with quality entries and good results.
lol i totally read that "Like You" in the second line wrong - I was thinking, wow im as magnetic as Isaac? but then i realised it was the start of the next sentence 😂 Yea Rasmus have it in the bag. Thats what happens in NFs if you have 75% of the televote and an entry thats from a group that are already a big name.
Now, this is how you do a national final Pick 7 songs of completely different genres, roll the dice and see how things fall. I like all these songs to a varying degree. Have downloaded 3, BESS, Olivera and Younghearted. Not really feeling The Rasmus I'm afraid. Don't think it has the same heart and spirit of Blind Channel last year. Personally, i have my fingers crossed for Olivera (love the juxtaposition of thanking God I'm an atheist. Very humourous😊) but will be able to get behind any of those 3. Well done Finland 🇫🇮👏

Not sure if it was already mentioned but in Tommi's song where he mentions "Harley Ja Davidson" it's a bit of jokingly mentioned in tone of: "My friends Harley and Davidson" to which it isn't hard to make the right mental connection. Lyrically Harley Davidson would have maybe made more sense but I guess the ja/and in the middle makes it fit better in the sentence. And yes, he's been a musician like forever; solo career, bands, composing, all that.
The first Ram Pam Pam was her way of living or dealing with things (or her own rythm) and the second Ram Pam Pam was her partners' rythm. They are not compatible with each other.
Oliviera, Bess and Isaac are my top 3. For me, the Rasmus have entered a pretty average song. Its not a bad at all, but its no where near as strong as some of their other material, particular the stuff they've had in the charts in the past. It also sounds a tad dated. It falls in to the middle of the table with Cyan Kicks for me. Bottom of the pile for me are Tommi and Younghearted.
i like Rasmus' song but yea after listening to it 10 or so times now i dont think its anything remotely special. Its a solid entry It seems that theyve got the thing wrapped up with this 75% televote
@@ESCTom the thing is, people are likely just frothing at the mouth because it's the Rasmus, and they're assuming that because the Rasmus have had a couple of hits in other countries that they'll likely succeed, but I feel that it's got two things going against it. Firstly, they aren't as popular anymore (worldwide) so likely will do okay at Eurovision but because the song is just 'ok', they won't succeed. Secondly, a rock song won last year, and this is poorer in comparison. Traditionally when a specific genre/sound wins Eurovision, the next year something different succeeds. So although they may win UMK, I cant see it winning at Eurovision. Someone like Isaac Sene or Oliviera stand a better chance IMHO. Will be an interesting final for sure!
It's another great UMK from Finland! I'm surprised to see that me and you pretty much have the same top with the only difference being Cyan Kicks and Isaac are swapped for 1st and 3rd. Cyan Kicks impressed me immediately when they released their song and they haven't gone down since but to be completely honest, The Rasmus is catching up quickly right now. Of course electro/pop rock that Hurricane is is still my favourite right now but if The Rasmus can rock the stage, i can see them being my winner. My 3rd and 4th are also rather close right now (Isaac and Olivera) with right now Isaac being on top for the great instrumentals. I like Olivera's song but honestly after a while, it does get a bit dreary to listen to it. Olivera's vocals are so good though, so i'm optimistic. On the potential winners, clearly The Rasmus is far ahead just by the sheer popularity they have. It's easy to assume that The Rasmus will win now because the UMK voting system gives 75% of the power to the public rather than 25% to the juries. Still, Bess and Cyan Kicks are rather close just based on international fans alone. Those 3 are pretty much the potential winners at this point but Isaac may surprise us on stage. @@ESCTom hi Tom currently watching your MGP SF3 video, hope you've had a good day.
16:42 I was drinking Coke Zero and literally sprayed it out laughing my ass off 😂
😂
Jezebel 👍❤
Ram Pam Pam is the only one who got me interested! Let's see how she does it live. Hope they don't send Jezebel! It's tiresome, nothing fresh or new, sorry. Maybe they could surprise live.
i think theyll be very competent live. With the size of their fanbase in Finland, I think its 99% going to win
Fresher than Cyan Kicks' generic lyrics and bland delivery for sure!
made me laugh when you said the rasmus had one good song and then got day jobs! you need to go to one of their concerts if you can get tickets! THE RASMUS LIVES ON!
oh lol, just to clarify, i meant that i was realising that's NOT what they did after "In the shadows" 😂
she must represent Finland
she being Chanel? 🧐
@@ESCTom I put 2 comments : one about your reaction for the Finnish selection : this is this one ! Olivera should represent Finland and one for your reaction about the Spanish reaction
I have the biggest crush on you haha. also v impressed with your taste level p00
haha wait until Melfest starts, you might change your mind about my taste level 😂
Isaac's and The Rasmus are my favourites although Younghearted is also good. Olivera's song it self is great but the lyrics make me feel really sick
Why do the lyrics make you feel sick?
@@enniervasti2233 The lyrics‘ Cause I don’t wanna face my sins, heaven is a state of mind and I don’t wanna live forever and on. It’s nothing to do with her she’s a great singer just the inner Catholic in me can’t agree with it
@@JamieFM_ Yeah, I can understand what you mean. I wouldn't say I agree with you, but I respect it. But I'm happy that we both like her :)
Also "ja" is "and" in Finnish.
The closest language to finnish is estonian, hungarian is a bit more distant relative
Hahaha your "totally inappropriate Finnish accent" 😂
lol i would have edited it out if it wasnt for the fact I said earlier how much i love finnish 😅
"Ja" is Finnish for "and".
The Rasmus colud win
they almost definitely will win
The closest relative to Finnish is Estonian
