    That is the number one crime against workers. They never file criminal charges so the businesses just pay the fine.

    However, the plaintiff has decided to defraud the federal government, knowing or a least trying to find out that using a bogus Social Security number and/or identity is defrauding the system.

    Sounds like a typical restaurant and landlord owner. Stiff and use everyone for maximum profit then claim you treat all people equal and you didn't know people are using two different names. Even though you see them and say hello and sign there checks which probably go to the same account, you suspected nothing. Right.. Nothing to see here officer.

    Only lawyers will make money when it happens. As usual everybody will come together to get money. The more the better for the lawyers. 20 years sure is just enough time to pay fees.

    If the business made a hefty profit from it, bad.
    If instead they did it to keep the business alive and thus provide for the job.
    Then is a sacrifice made with this mutual understanding by employee and business owner.

    • @NeilTruick
      @NeilTruick 12 часов назад +3

      Ummm...no. If the business can't survive without breaking the law, then the business needs to shut down. Employees do not have an implied ownership stake, unless the employer offers them stock options in the business. So, employees cannot "agree" to forego overtime in order to keep the business afloat.
