It's okay, McGill refuse me twice both in undergrad and medical school, I graduated 11 years ago with an MD. It does not have to be McGill, and you do not need at 3.9 GPA or 38 R score. Get the hell out of Quebec, go international for medical school and do really well. Take the Canadian or in my case American exams and come home to practice.
@@bubbleteaeth yeah I learned It the hard way! I went to a not well known public with a bad reputation my high 90s gave me low 30s r score but watching your vids keep me motivated 🙂
That sucks.. I'm sorry to hear that 😢 Keep your hope up; there are so many paths to getting into dental school! You may not need to do a full undergraduate degree after Cégep - just a couple semesters to get into certain dental schools in QC
Excellent Video with the enriched content of interview from the future talented! I wonder if you are still keep in contact with the cohort- the young lady from Guelph? Hope to meet with her when we can visit you in Montreal (McGill)
Hey Laura! Your undergraduate degree can be at McGill, but it can be from any universities. And yes, once you have completed your undergrad (while fulfilling the science prerequirements), then you apply to dental school. I hope this helps!
@@bubbleteaeth hey , thank you. I was thinking of doing Cegep at Mc gill and then apply to dental school at macgill too. And I was wondering if doing my undergraduate degree (Cegep) at Mc gill gives me a better chance to be accepted in their dental school ?
Cegep and undergraduate are two different levels of education. If you live in Quebec, after high school, you have to go through cegep (2-3 years depending on your program), and then you can apply to undergraduate degrees. McGill is an university; it is not a cegep. To answer your second question, McGill does not give preferences to McGill students. Every application is treated equally. If you want me to clarify more regarding Cegep and University, I can help you out. Message me on Instagram @bubbleteaeth so I can answer you more promptly!
Wait, how do you do shadowing while in cegep? I thought that was something you did when you were in dental school... so youre just supposed to message as many dentists as possible and see who answers and allows you to shadow in their office?
Hey Clara! You can shadow dentists before or during dental school. The reason why I would recommend everyone to shadow a dentist is for you to get a sense of what it would be like to practice as a dentist! In terms of the how, I would start with your own dentist; they will be more inclined to accept.
So many Dent-P entries. One mistake trying to go for that and you're automatically disqualified. They want 4 semesters uninterrupted, no summer school, minimum 6 courses each, and a 34.5+ R-score. Also, you really have to know years ahead that you want to become a dentist AND everything needed to stand out like starting as young as possible with building up the ECs to get accepted.
Unfortunately, Dent-P is definitely harder to get straight into because of the forementioned reasons. I believe that's why it is important to have high school students explore and discover different career paths to see which of them they like/dislike.
@@bubbleteaeth Many highschool students don't know what they want. I dropped out of CEGEP 10 years ago, but I went back to school and I hope to become a dentist by 2030.

Unfortunately, McGill Med requires you to have a bachelor's degree as soon as you have university credits.
