    I’m assuming that it doesn’t come with a battery - can it be powered without?? Also, what battery is best to use and where to buy from??

    • @WilliamNevius
      @WilliamNevius  4 дня назад +1

      They make an option that comes with battery and case. If yours don’t come with get a NPF-970 it’s the bigger one so it’ll last longer. You can also power with usbc without a battery installed on a 5V charge

      @@WilliamNeviuscheers mate. I’ve received and the lead it’s came with doesn’t fit my camera so ordered a separate one that does along with the battery. Connected everything up but it just sits on blue screen and nothing shows on the monitor. I’ve played around with the settings on my camera and looked up online what might be wrong but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas??

    • @WilliamNevius
      @WilliamNevius  4 месяца назад

      I agree, at this point monitors should be upgraded to control some camera settings at least a touch to focus and touch for playback. I’m sure with newer cameras having usbc it’s possible. Hopefully we get these features integrated in the next few years.

    Hey, in direct comparison would you choose the viltrox or the feelworld? Im testing the viltrox right now but im not sure because where im living there basiclly the same price. My Viltrox also has the option to put the fan noise completly out, maybe thats a newer fimrware update.

    • @felixxyzz
      @felixxyzz 3 месяца назад +1

      saw that already answerend in the comments, but the fan noise aside is the feelworld overheating then without fan?

    • @WilliamNevius
      @WilliamNevius  3 месяца назад +2

      I’ve shot with the feelworld at an outdoor wedding a few weeks back. We shot for about 3 hours in 98 degree weather and I almost melted but the monitor never overheated or cut out. Not use how they do it but no over heating issues even in direct sunlight

      I mentioned this in the video…The feelworld monitor has higher brightness, no fan noise, luts can be loaded into the monitor and has a battery dummy and battery life is way better.
      Viltrox has better sunhood/screen protector. It’s @ 11:59

      Zero noise. There is no fan in it either. A major reason why I love this monitor. So your audio mounted would have nothing to pick up 😄thank you 🙏🏽

      I noticed high pitch sound that comes from the back of the monitor. Nothing major, you can’t hear it unless if you are in a very quiet room and you put your ear on the back. I myself was wondering if that is normal.

    Quick question please. How can i charge the battery while still attached to the monitor? hope you know this. thank you

    • @WilliamNevius
      @WilliamNevius  3 месяца назад

      You can actually plug in usbc with the battery not connected and power this so great if you had a V mount battery or you can plug the usbc into the battery port while connected to the monitor and the monitors battery will charge up while in use. The only downside is the indicator is on the inside so you can’t tell that is charging. I tested this with a different battery at similar to this one that has an indicator on the outside and it charges while connected. Hope that helps

      Yes I noticed that too. It doesn’t get picked up on in the recordings audio. To me it sounds like all electronics that uses 5v power or above. I’ll take that over a fan noise any day. Like you said you have to really be looking for it to hear it lol

    I think this is another gadget that makes filming harder especially when you are using a DJI gimbal and have to move around or even run. It would be fine with static shots but shots with lots of camera moves it would be a nightmare for the camera man. Plus the LUTs are not affecting the recorded footage so what you see is NOT what you get plus the battery makes it even heavier.

    • @WilliamNevius
      @WilliamNevius  29 дней назад

      I understand your point of view however, these monitors come in handy for multiple reasons. The regular camera monitor is super small. Sometimes you can’t see all the details. The bigger monitor allows you to make sure the framing is correct. It’s been times where I left a dirty cup in the background, not noticing it through the camera, but noticed it through the monitor for an example.
      You also have additional features like focus assist, anamorphic crop, markers scopes, vectors etc.. (cameras don’t have these features) that helps you expose the shot better when shooting in S-log Vlog C log, etc. having the luts on the monitor helps you expose the shot better while using a lut. For example, shooting in S log 2 you need to over expose the shot, but having the monitor with the lut on it, gives you a better representation of what the image will look like.
      The monitor brightness is also a plus for shooting outside in the middle of the day. Most screens on cameras are not as bright as the monitor can get almost double brightness ensuring you can see your image you’re shooting.
      For a professional who has one time to get it right the monitor does come in handy to put you in a better position of getting all of the shots you need perfectly the first time.
