BF3 and BF4 were ahead of it's time. Battlefield peaked too early. Now we have maps like redacted and hourglass. Bland, with minimal detail. They need to revisit maps like Metro, Propaganda, Pearl Market, Seige of Shanghai and think about what made them so good. This map Talah market was too much fun.
Agreed, the new maps have no character. You can feel the lack of passion and effort. These old maps you mentioned all have a story to tell. It's like they put some thought into every object they placed on the maps.
I completely agree with you. The game still holds its own to this day, and I’m sure it would continue to do so if Dice chose to remaster it. The game felt so gritty and realistic, unlike todays futuristic fast paced fiasco of first person shooters 😂
One thing that always stands out to me in bc2 and bf3 is the audio. This is the most realistic war audio in any game I’ve ever heard. The distance and echo and transitions from indoor to outdoor with the gunfire, explosions and yelling is unrivaled even in DICE’s newer games. Even BF4 didn’t sound as good as BC2 or BF3.
Oh yeah, audio is one of the key things to do right in Battlefield. This franchise is all about immersion and this helps massively. With every new entry, they keep making it worse.
I wish this was on the PS5, still looks so good.
wish games now had the soul that bf3 did. each map felt like it had its own story and atmosphere

I honestly don't understand why they don't make a bf3 remastered. I would happily pay full price if it's good

It's somewhat active, but only in EU and NA. Not very populated, sadly. You can buy through the EA app or Steam.
