    I had the Britpart seals on my 2013 Defender. After two years took them off to do some paint work repair. I had to scrape them of as the partly had melted against the frame. Replaced them with genuine ones. Oh and one other tip. Replace your strikers if the plastic is worn. Don't have to slam the door anymore, gust a gentle push will close the door nicely. Could not believe how much difference that striker replacement made.

    I look forward to a test fit on the driver's door and see if it helps the gap at the top.

    The only way to get Britpart seals to fit is if you put a slit along the "O" section.

    So funny Mike...your easily pleased ! just on about things that dont fit right, just took delivery of an under bonnet soundproof pad from Bearmach, the guy said it fits all defenders including my Td5....bollocks it does!, for €120 delivered i could have stuck my own stuff on with a better outcome. its the right shape of the bonnet, thats about where it ends though, i have had to hack bits off it to make the bonnet close, but am going to have to do more to it yet as its still tight againts something.

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  5 лет назад

      Was this a stick on pad or the 'fall to bits original' type?
      I have fitted the Dynamat but there seemed to be 100 separate parts

      @@BritannicaRestorations bearmach.com/bonnet-insulation-pad-awr4147r, i'vemanaged to get it to fit reasonably well, i think its the insulation pad ontop of the td5 engine thats causing it to be tight but it is on and i have riveted it where it touches the sub frame of the bonnet, looks ok, not taken it out for a spin yet so we'll see how it goes.

    Easily your best video yet, I was hoping this would be the outcome. As you know Mike i’m Back on genuine parts, I fear Britpart, Bearmach and others are all made in the same factory to piss poor spec. I’m happy to pay more if it will last because aftermarket is turning into a dirty word. My concern is with poor economic performance Jaguar Land Rover will stop making defender parts then what for us? Thank you again.

      These LR seals were made in Poland - I am sure we can find the same stuff on a roll - I am onto it but taking time
      Parts - manufactures have no long term obligation to supply parts over 7 years
      When I was a lad in the late 70's , we could pop to our local BL garage and get series 1 parts - and if not in stock they would be there in a few days - only parts that wore out of broke - not chassis or body panels

    How do you decide when a seal needs to be replaced? Amount of wind feeding into the cabine? Wonder why they never combined a doorframe seal with an added seal on the door itself.

    I have a 1991 110 and would like to replace the lowers with the newer style. I have the seals with part numbers ALR6250 and ALR6251 but they are too short and the holes are not aligned. Do you happen to know the exact part numbers that I would need? I have the same leak and I’m thinking this will help

      I thank you very much brother, now I know that the company is noico is optimal .. but the size of 18 sqft this means that the width is not a meter and also length not counting a meter means that the insulation is too small 😅 What do you think is enough 100 sqft for a car full of doors and roof and floor! ! Because I want to buy it and offer it for sale in my city
