    How is the 1000 sq ft of floor cavity measured? I’m finishing a basement. Whole finished space is about 893 sq ft. Wondering if I need to put draft stops in my ceiling/floor joist cavities at all.

      First, remember this only applies to open web floor trusses or a dropped ceiling. If the floor joists are wood or I-joists this doesn’t apply. Otherwise, if the floor area is less than 1000, nothing is needed.
