Dayummmm! Cannon fire positive thunder. The one at 3:30 was the chef's kiss, that close double boom was awesome. Watching this while I weather out Tropical Storm Debby, after 10" of rain fell here
Thanks much for a wonderful electrical storm video! Where I grew up in NE Iowa, I remember a severe electrical storm that hit on an early Sunday morning in August. The lightning was so intense that it blew out the clock on the kitchen stove - INSIDE our mobile home! Keep the great weather videos coming! Happy Thanksgiving!
@@rosaliejeanne4681 You're welcome. I live in the Mediterranean climate of the California coast where we get on average around one thunderstorm per year, and when it happens it's like 5% as intense as these Minnesota storms you post.
I lived in the Twin Cities for over a decade, and I recall experiencing some of the best thunderstorms there! Well... I could've done without the one where my house got struck by lightning... but otherwise, great storms!
Yeah I watched this while sitting out on my patio just outside of Golden Valley that afternoon (there is an overhead deck) and the lightning bolts were about one or two miles from where I was sitting, right across Golden Valley Rd. They lit up my eyes like flashbulbs - and the whole thing sounded like an aerial bombing!!🤩🤩 Then it blew up a transformer about 5 blocks away and the power went out for 3 hours. I was hoping for more that night (sans the power loss) but as things seemed to have gone this summer for the most part that did not unfold.
Cute cat 😍 your cat didn't seem scared? What kind of thunderstrom was that? Scard the crap out lol. Those Thunderbooms sounded very sharp. I have a feeling positive lightning positive thunderstorm is the dangerous.
This is a severe electrical storm. Positive lightning flashes are much more powerful than negative lightning flashes. They originate from the top of the clouds.
Wow, I've never heard thunder quite like that before, at one point it sounded like it was almost overhead for a while, we certainly don't get storms quite like that here in the UK and certainly not where I live here in Redditch Worcestershire UK. I guess with climate change the weather is going to get weider and weider 😮
Wow never heard thunder sound like that before OMG l would be in the cupboard under the stairs, could you tell me is that a unusual thunderstorm? I live in the UK
It was certainly unusual. Positive lightning strikes are less common, and they’re more powerful than negative CGs. I’ve lived here all my life and I can only recall a couple storms that rivaled this one in terms of lightning intensity. If you’re interested in learning more about this, Pecos Hank has a great YT video explaining the different types of lightning.
Proof that women are better at understanding severe storms than men are. Might explain why 80% of lightning strike victims are male. Subscribed to show my sister weather geek some love!

WOW!! That was impressive footage! Those storms out east don’t play around! Those booms and cannon blasts were very loud!
1:58 Ok
Yes 😆
That’s what I call thunder!! Damnnn those booms we don’t get here in the Netherlands and I’m happy about that. Gosh that sounds scary!! Great video!!
That biker 2:30 has balls of steel to be riding his bike in that
Love the weather videos
Every time you post a new thunderstorm video it pops up in my feed and I watch it like it's a new episode of a show
That means a lot, thank you. 😊

Some very meaty bolts there! Those single flash positive strikes really do the job of making huge thunder!
These are my fav storms, i just seeing lightning very close gives me an adrenaline rush

Holly macaroni. I would be really scared to hear this kind of storm.
Yup! Get those in Detroit sometimes❤❤❤❤. Thank you for posting this video😊
Wow! Great video!! 👍👍
jeez the one at 3:30 scared the shit out of me
Wow grzmoty takie jakby spadały pojedyncze bomby 😯.
Would love this type of thunder more often in the storms we get in New Jersey and South Carolina
The strike at 3:30 sounded like it was 100 feet away or less.
That strike and the one following it both caused power surges in my house.
3:30 what i hear when i fall asleep
Very nice thunderstorm indeed, boom ⚡
I wish it had gotten to northeast WI. Everything falls apart before it gets here! My dog is on my bed when he hears first crack of thunder.
I would think about getting that tree down safely. I've seen too many trees like this that have fallen. One landed on house across the street from me
A very nice thunderstorm with loud big thunder ❤

Wwooooowww!!! I literally don't want that noise! 😖😳
You’re lucky to live on the windward side of the Great Lakes. Storms like this are a rarity in southern Ontario, the lakes shred them apart.
Same story in Ottawa.. the valley breaks the cells apart.
strange thunder but love it

you thought the thunder was weird too? So did I.

Stay indoors during a thunderstorm and never ever go outside.

Very incredible storm and good quality of mic and caméra, what is the name of ??🤗
Hi I’m from Montreal Canada we have this thunderstorm like that in a few times were loud like this

holy moley!
Oh my goodness
More like artillery fire than thunder. You live on a very busy road and your cat is really cute by the way.
Artillery fire and ray guns 🔫💥
(&thanks for the kitty compliment 😊)
Lightning in HDR….nice!
But RIP my eyeballs 😂
Bummer that I didn’t capture any actual strikes, but others in my area did!
@@rosaliejeanne4681 The apocalyptic thunder makes up for it!
Cute kitty cat! What's his/her name?
His name is Leo; aka, the sneak who snuck out.

Nice.
I hope someone helped the neighbor with the bad lawn
Woow, just only Positive Strikes. Thats not often.
How did you recorded? Mobilphone? Great Soundquality! 😎👍
Yes, recorded on iPhone 15 Pro with a microphone extension. Hoping to upgrade someday. 😊
How much degree heat was made that day?
I think the hottest it got was 89F (32C)
