The only thing I hate bout royal tribute is the new ruling saying you can't look at your opponents hand to verify they dumped all their monsters.
The problem is, you need to go first, one coloss and it is lost, one ash and it is lost, you should play one hidden temple, best card to stun all decks

I am an player of GK i use to play it since 2008, i made lot of top in France régionals and France Nationals, wathever what was the métagame. I stopped the game just before the release of pendul cards now im coming back with my friend Enzo but its impossible to make a good version of GK even more if its pure GK. You show spy in your decklist but he his impossible to play anymore too slow, too fragile. The only way to potentially get a competitive version of GK is too mix it with some danger too accelerate the deck (like mothman, nessi who dont have effects who disturb the graveyard) and give some Tools to link summon etc... you can also mix it with shaddolls to get a board with for example wee witch apprentice as link, esper, winda and necorvalley but its too hard too get a stable version of this deck. The only argument to play gravekeeper his royal tribute you start you win 100% but if you go second you need a fast version with lot of resilience, and come back potential, super polymérisation is a good start but you will be in bad position to find slots in your deck to put everything. I hate when yugitubers doing that show a deck and say "amazing", NOT at all ! even more your version
I'm actually winning right now with them, not in actual locals or Regionals (thx to Covid) but through online matches on Dueling Book / YgoPro.
I built a specific deck for matches (2 out of 3 games) because the side Deck is very important.
Actually, my main deck is a 1st turn build ONLY :
3x commandant
3x spy
3x spiritualist
2x headman
these are my only monsters.
Then the strategy is to set up a beater (Spiritualist ) and take absolute control of the field with negations and board-breakers as Solemn Judgement to interrupt, Super Poly to prevent long combos, Royal tribute to kill the game, triple tactics talent for handtraps and my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Summon Limit which kills sooo many people mid-combo.
Other than that, draw power to set up a good board such as Pot of Desires (+1 so good), Pot of Duality (choose the best card for my turn), Throne to tutorize.
My chances of drawing Necrovalley is very high so if I go first I'm usually winner thx to my traps.
But if I lose the hand and go second I have very little chances : that's why when I feel I'm going to be second on the next match (depending on the oppponent's deck), I side ALL my traps + Royal Tribute and go full handtraps with 3 Nibiru, 3 Ash, 3 Droll, Twin Twisters + Harpy Feather Duster.
This suprises litterally everyone and destroys their whole gameplay, they can't even drop a combo and I can safely build my board with spy andthe Fusion monster.
I guess I am kind of off topic but does anyone know of a good place to watch newly released movies online ?

My very first Deck was the Gravekeeper's and I didn't know there were so many supports for it. It's been since 2014 since I last played TCG. I'm glad they're getting supports throughout their release. They need more to succeed too.
When I got back into the game for the fist time, my friend took me shopping to get new cards. I felt a mystical voice calling out to me from structure deck Marik, and that is how I feel like I've been chosen by the Gravekeeper's to carry on their legacy. That was just a cheesy way of saying I love this deck and always want to find out how to play it, but this format is not right. Royal Tribute going to 3 is a huge plus, but I don't hear any talk about how you lose to back row hate. Maybe you don't win the die roll and your opponent drops Colossus when your entire hand is searching. Maybe you go against Sky Strikers where their entire hand is spells and Royal Tribute does nothing. Point is this deck has a lot of bad matchups in the format where Royal Tribute at 3 still doesn't fix anything.
What happens when you go 2nd with this deck after your opponent already set up a strong board? Do you just lose because lack of disruption? Or have to rely on super poly?
You lose either way
No. You should have 3x evenly matched 3x dark ruler no more and 1x darkhole/raigeki and 3x super poly. THATS how you go 2nd.
@@exlothealmighty2165 Evenly matched doesn't even work on the first turn. There's no battle phase to conduct. Not to mention how terrible a draw it is when you've set up your continuous cards.
And if you intend on using it on your first turn of going second, good luck with all those negates already set up.

Not every board makes 6 negates. Some use floodgates, non targetable, non destroyable monsters and board wipes. Most decks can't do all of the above. So they choose between ending on negates against evenly matched or making unbreakable floodgate board against opponents chain blocking or unrespondable super poly.
i play keepers and i side in hand traps going second to slow my opponent down
Speaking from experience, resolving Royal Tribute isn't always a blowout against meta decks. Depending on the deck they can be running search spell and traps, draw power, or strong backrow. And there's the one card combo starters that they can draw into. They'll also likely get at least a couple draws as Gravekeeper's struggle to push for game.
This is also all assuming you're going first. Going 2nd you have no interruptions and no way to break an established board with this build.
This is very true. Going 2nd will put this deck at a huge disadvantage in so many ways. Also, with such a low monster count, this deck will struggle to quickly capitalize when and if Royal Tribute yields any results.
You can bait out there negate and if they have a full hand or even 4 cards , and necrovalley is already up Royal tribute is gonna dump those monsters with no chance at bringing them back next turn and that puts them at a disadvantage. As well as keeping magicians left hand or right I forget which, and hidden temples that’s hard to combat
Technically, Necrovalley Throne can get you a Necrovalley too. I recommend a Dark Law though. It seems kinda unnecessary but if your opponent has to get over Dark Law before they even deal with your Necrovalley, it makes the deck twice as annoying. I run 2 Mask Change II and 2 Dark Laws. I also run 3 Dark World Dealings. Puts more cards in the graveyard to freeze with Necrovalley and if Dark Law is on the field your opponent has to banish 2 cards off that one draw card which potentially gives you a plus 4 advantage if your opponent banishes a card they need in the graveyard and a random card to start a combo and you throw a level 4 that you can bring back with Headsman and then your draw from Dealings. This deck is super fun to mess around with hand manipulation regardless though. lol

You should have 4 cards left and you can really throw whatever you feel like in. I have 2 twin twister, 1 polymerization, and 1 dark renewal. Thinking about taking the poly out tho.
Extra deck wise, only thing that matters is 3x gravekeeper supernaturalist and 2x dark laws. I have some generic lil 4 xyz but abyss dweller goes with the archetype the most. No links cause I never really have more than 1 summon outside of headman but knightmare unicorn would probably help. Don't put wee witch link in tho cause its second effect won't work with necrovalley unless you just really want the extra 500 atk. I was running hand destruction for a while but dealings is more effective imo. You could run some apprentice illusion magician as a hand trap too. I would but mine are all in my dark magician deck.
Oh, royal tribute too. I would run 2x if I had any.

Demise of the land is also a possible tech option is 9 copies of necrovalley isn’t enough. It’s practically terraforming on your opponents turn (since a special summon is basically guaranteed in current tcg)
Def need recruiter with links the extra plus is great with the combo u showed if you wudve ss recruiter off spy you cudve linked spy recruiter into whatever then search headman then normal summon headman it just gives you an extra body
You need Imperm here. Especially if going second is such a bust in this deck. Maybe cut a Desire and both Strikes?? Also Temple is a great card as well. Try to get it in.

Disappointed to not see a single copy of Quintet Magician in this build. So spicy against Dark Magicians, Altergeists and Endymions with Super Poly.

You need to add hidden temples. You’ll have their grave locked and special summons from everywhere else are locked. Add hand traps to deal with spells and traps and basically their entire deck is done.

Which hand traps would you use to deal with spell trap. CUse the ghost ogre one destroys but doesn’t negate
for master duel you should add 3x max c and 3x nibiru (both in case you go 2nd) and 3x continous spell that lock special summon

Why would you set spy, and wait a turn before bringing out supernaturalist, when you could have just used Spiritualist and ditched the spy in hand to make it turn 1?

Question: about the new ruling that mentions, where if you for example activate "royal tribute" and you're opponent states they have no monsters; you cannot call judge to check opponents hand. Opponent never has to show thier hand, effectively allowing them to cheat without consequence. Is royal tribute still worth playing now?

Due to the new rules of the game this could happen by cheaters. Also cards like (mindcrush, laulby of obedience, etc) aren't worth playing.

@@joey-js9pr Actually this deck works a lot better going first because the sooner you can Lock out your opponent from the Graveyard, the better. Especially in an Orcust, Salad, Hero, Cyber Dragon or Zombie match up. Tbh I'm surprised he didn't tech in 1 copy of Quintet Magician (for added spice)
Interesting approach to Gravekeepers. I wouldn’t bank on your opponent swinging into your Set Spy, though. Put in Taiyou or Legacy Pawns or something.
It's not really top tier my guy. Just because it stops orcust, salad, and thunderdragon, doesn't mean it's "TOP TIER"

3 desire is a deathwish cause you could play 1 and get so unlucky that you could banish all 3 valley then you are litterally screwed

Link Summoning really hindered and slowed a lot of decks and the game overall.
It didn't slow the game down in general, it did slow down some decks yes but the game has speed up considerably

hi samuria....what do u mean when u say solemn judgment can be activated more than once? isnt it a one time effect....so like say ur opponent special summons a card and u use solemn judgment to negate it.....after u negate that summon isnt solemn judgment immediately sent to the gy after? anyone in the comments please help...im super confused about this
Solemn doesn't have a hard once per turn effect whereas Imperial tombs does.

why don't you play 1 gravekeeper's recruiter so you can SS it with spy then search commandant if you need a necrovalley?
2 Spy, no recruiter, and only 2 spiritualist is a terrible lineup. Spy is basically a 1 of at this point, recruiter is a 1 of if you're playing more than 1 spy, and spiritualist facilitates the only good T1 play. Saying you can search it is pretty weak when the deck essentially plays 9-10 necrovalleys and still doesn't sometimes get it: You max out on your good plays.
Can you make a new DAD deck with link monsters and without teleport. And a new Zombie Deck please

Play desires, extravagance stops you from using your other draw cards like demise
You can’t special summon the turn you activate card of demise so this play is impossible to do

They can use Allure of Darkness and if you have the space in the 40 card version, run Upstart as your last card to increase consistency

Section IV: Tournament Play, Subsection N literally says that you can’t look at your opponent’s hand to verify if they actually discarded all of their monsters. It also says that you literally CANNOT call a judge to look at your opponent’s hand for you to make sure they’re telling the truth unless you have a “solid” reason to believe they’re cheating. This means that Royal Tribute is bad now and no matter what you think I have in my hand, I can discard what I want and you need proof of me cheating in order to call a judge.
Is the card good if your opponent is playing fair and actually obeying the rules? Yeah. Otherwise it’s not viable.

so, the same strategy as fairy counter changing the main monsters fields and 3 traps
first of all you called card of demise, "heart of demise" and secondly that card is limited to one per deck so that changes things a bit
also super polymerization is limited to 2 per deck
and for everyone who ask for recruiter he is also bad now too slow and you cant revive him with gravekeeper headman, hidden temple is also bad in reality you go second you are fucked, and even if you go first too much conditions to keep it on board ! its more easy to play the last warrior from another planet or winda. Super naturalist is a not finish card like fallout 76, you can only add a gk card at the end phase.

Royal tribute needs a errata saying “both players must show all cards in their hand” because of the Private knowledge and public knowledge.people are just going to cheat.

Okay but NOBODY PLAY GRAVEKEEPERS! Calm Down! There's a reason gravekeepers aren't meta-relevant. Necrovalley stops cards from leaving the graveyard, but there are effects that can activate if monsters are sent to the GY and if those effects don't involve the GY it could be a major blowout.
