Hey Tee-Jay, just a quick question. The wood finish looks very good on video, but what does it look like in person? Would you say it looks like real wood veneer, or obvious vinyl finish? Thanks.
Considering it's an easy swap because they have single binding posts, I think doing the gr-research tube connector swap would be a really great video to demonstrate if there's anything to them!🤔😉😇 As you mentioned, you own them so you can do whatever you want with them as opposed to them being a model you have to send back.🤓 It's not like the tube connectors will make them sound any worse or so we are told.🙄😋
Is there any chuffing? I'm always on the fence on these vs q150..... seems like these might be a tad thunderous as to make them not so balanced... but it could be just youtube, they don't sound thin by any means..... lol.... good at what volumes?
Bass is strong and like i was memtioning in the video The upper bass is 'boosted' which is ok at 'low to med' volumes but at loud volumes yes the bass starts to fall apart the Elac ub52 is a more balanced speaker and sounds better at louder volumes but most people listen at low-mid volumes 😃 hope this helps U didn't get any port chuffing but i do keep the speakers atleast 2-3ft away from back wall

@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Well, that's a complicated question. My source is a Dragonfly Black DAC on my laptop, and a vintage Thorens TD145 t'table. For preamp, I have vintage Audio Research SP3-A1, and Dynaco PAS 3x tube preamps with my Dynaco ST70 and ST35 amps. I also have an integrated tube amps, Audionote 300B Kit 1, and Eico HF81. My prized speakers are Quad ESL57 and Maggie SMGa but they're in storage, as they're too big for my present space. So I've had to make due with a pair of $300 KEF Q150 speakers. They seem a touch smoothed over in the upper mids. The Kef Q350s are twice that price, but I'm not sure if they'll be a leap forward or a subtle change. Both of them are good, I don't know which one should I choose 😂.The genre that I mostly hear is R&B, 80's, 90's pop songs and Blue-eyed soul.
I am beginner to the HIFI world. Perhaps you could share me some of your knowledge, that would be great and I would really appreciate that.

🔺Borea 3 with Iota sa3 omg !!
Hey Tee-Jay, just a quick question. The wood finish looks very good on video, but what does it look like in person? Would you say it looks like real wood veneer, or obvious vinyl finish? Thanks.
For the price point they look great
but since i own real wood Venner standmounts yes to me they look obvious but Kef did do a great Job
Love them in my small apartment.
They have some nice bass extenstion to be a 6.5 inch
Considering it's an easy swap because they have single binding posts, I think doing the gr-research tube connector swap would be a really great video to demonstrate if there's anything to them!🤔😉😇 As you mentioned, you own them so you can do whatever you want with them as opposed to them being a model you have to send back.🤓 It's not like the tube connectors will make them sound any worse or so we are told.🙄😋
Yeah i am going to order them today !
I'm curious also !

Thank you so much !!!
You are killing it 2 videos reviews in one week, what is going on?! How would my IOTA-VX SA3 Integrated pair up with the KEF Q350?
Thanks TeeJay !
Imho the Iota didn't pair to well it was ok synergy but not good/great synergy overly clinical Sa3/q350 pairing
Thanks for the comment Brandon !
great review, thanks!
Thank you for stopping in !
How much better are these than the JBL Studio 530's you
Reviewed? I recently bought them and I agree with your review. They are amazing and have phenomenal bass.
It really comes down to personal taste I love the 530s !! From a desktop to a nearfield room ! The Q350 are to much for a desktop but from nearfield to a small living room I don't need subs personally . And i do like the Q350 better but thats to me taste still love the 530s though
Great review as usual. How would you think the Q350 compares against the Borea BR03? And would the Q350 mate well with the Audiolab 6000A?
Just b4 i got the Kef Q350 i sent my Audiolab 6000a to another reviewer to try out and video review . Soon as I get the 6000a back i will pair with Q350 then I will post on my community page the pairing , Theirs a big difference between the Bro3 vs Kef Q350 I have done a video review of both , Me comparing them in comment section would be very very long comment both a great for their pricepoint , One day soon i may have a speaker show down
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Here in Canada, while boxing day sales are still on, the Q350 and BR03 are the same price. Which one would you buy for yourself if you could only afford one? Thanks for the assist.
@@geevee1045 thats a tuff 1 for real ,
But i want you to buy the one you will enjoy the most ! Your front end is going to matter alot also ! What pre/amp and transport do you have ?
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Well, that's a complicated question. My source is a Dragonfly Black DAC on my laptop, and a vintage Thorens TD145 t'table. For preamp, I have vintage Audio Research SP3-A1, and Dynaco PAS 3x tube preamps with my Dynaco ST70 and ST35 amps. I also have an integrated tube amps, Audionote 300B Kit 1, and Eico HF81. If I need power, I have a cheap 200wpc solid state class A/B Chinese amp, the SoundArtist SA-200IA. Also vintage solid state amps like Marantz 2235B, and original NAD 3020. I've heard that the Triangle BR03 is good, but can be bright. I like lively and spacious, but not bright. Which speaker would you go for Tee-Jay? You have experience with both these speakers. Thx for your input.
@@geevee1045 you have a lot of gear i am familiar with 😆 This is Tuff
The Bro3 has amazing Tonality
But me I would go with the Q350
In my country the Q350 are 150.00US more but if you want a different type of sounding speaker and very good Tonality go for the Bro3
TJ great video. I also own the Q350 and JBL studio 530.
More partial to the Q350's, more satisfying midrange, than the JBL.
If the JBL had more balance between the beautiful top end and mids it would be better to my tastes.
After watching all the reviews of DIY speaker ( CSS especially), I'm just about ready to take the plunge.
Hard to Beat DYI speakers for the price point ! If i didnt work 70 hour worklife
i would have done went DYI also Anthony maybe I should order one of GR/Dannys kits to see how they measure up I have over a dozen speakers/amps What CSS are you looking to get ?
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 I'm torn between getting the 2Td -X and the 2TD-X MTM.
Don't have much room for a floor stander.
I am running a Rythmik sealed subwoofer, so low end isn't a concern.
Just want some clean, articulate mids and highs.
I have heard so many speakers that blur the mix.
You work so many hours Tee- Jay I guess it would take you a while to get a speaker kit together, lol.
I was considering getting a set of Elac unifi reference UBR62, but read alot of people saying their really laid back and might get a tad congested when playing heavy metal music.
Have you listened to the new model yet?
@@anthonymiriello5029 I haven't heard the Elac Yet , But for mids/highs me Triangles Esprit EZ Comete are very clean sounding with outstanding Tonality paired up very good with the

I may go ahead and Try one of Dannys kits from GR research The Encores and have them vinyl wrapped 😃
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 I haven't heard anything from Triangle, almost bought Bro 3 after all the hype on RUclips, but never got them.
Had Klipsch RP160m, they were ok but seem to miss alot in midrange .
Actually I might just duratex and then paint my DIY speaker when I do it.
I know it's not classy, but I was thinking there's some cool colors that will make the speakers pop.
I was thinking lime green or maybe yellow.
Tee-Jay, what's your thoughts on adding a DAC to a stereo set-up?
I am running a Denon 3500 receiver pre amp out to a Digital Amplifier Cherry STM.
I keep wondering if I would hear alot of improvement in sound quality , when using my kefs?
I spoke to Danny Richie a few times, he keeps saying I need to clean up my front end to really truly benefit from speaker upgrades.
@@anthonymiriello5029 Yeah Danny is correct , i went from owning over a dozen budget dacs then I tried the Burson Conductor 3 and I was blown away So i bought the Burson Composer dac that can also be used as a preamp xlr and unbalanced outputs That dac brought my system together I haven't reviewed the Composer because Thomas and Stereo reviewed it and he has already reviewed the Dac but adventually i will review the composer this year its a badass dac that yoy can switch out 4 dual op-amps to taylor the sound to your System , the Dac Brought everything up to scale .

Hey Teejay?
Hello from india. Love your videos.
Have you tested the marantz pm 7000n . If you would you prefer audiolab 6000a or the marantz sound wise. I am leaning toward audiolab but not having ton controll is is that a a bad thing.
Its all going to depend on the speakers you have to pair up with the amp.?
AND what sound your going for? 😃
I never tried the 7000n .
But answer the 2 ? And i can help ya out

So speakers i am considering evo 4.2 or montior audio silver 100 or may be bronze 100..
Here in india the sad part you cant listen to to these . Most hifi studios concentrate on av systems.
I heard only good reviews about 6000s . One reviews mention phono amp not being great. One mention lack of ton controll.
So i listen to vynls and cds.. ny room is small size of 13ft by 13ft.
@@roev5296 ok with the JBL 570/580 being very efficanct and mature sounding due to JBL using compression drivers as tweeters instead of metal dome I would choose the Marantz amp .
The Marantz has more top end extension and more power .
Now as far as the Monitor audio and wharfdale i would go with the Audiolab .
Audiolab is a brother company to wharfdale . And the Audiolab isn't a?bright sounding amp its very mature and relaxed sounding which pairs up good to bright speakers actually the Audiolab eill tame those speakers ! But the 6000a does like efficanct speakers the 6000a isnt a powerhouse but speakers above 89db the 6000a can drive them theirs also the Audiolab 8300a that has more power but you can always use the 6000a as a very good preamp ! Whats the Efficancy of the monitor/wharfdales ?

Teejay honestly i dont know the efficancy.
I am an amateur. But i LOVE listening to music.
Below are the pricing and option i have here in my hometown .
Since i am getting into 2 channel lot people in my circle said don go for companies like marnatz its too much for mass market and also the sound is too coloured and filtered.
My old setu was onkyo rz710 with wharfedale 240 towers but it was more 7.1 setup.
I enjoy music which is crisp clear where vocals are crystal clear beats are heard separate not muffled.

Very helpful information on here as I do my research. Thank you very much for the video. One question on the speaker is sound quality thoughts at low and medium volumes? Surely there'll be some, but being an apartment dweller, I'd like something still sounding nice at medium-low volumes while sitting at 7-8 feet away. I'm running a Yamaha A-S501 at 85W Class A/B, so I should be good for power as you stated. Defs jealous of your A-S1100! Cheers!
Yes the Kefs sound great from low ro mid volume still amazing low bass for the q350 size . Yeah love my Yammy but shes picky with speaker pairing ! 😥
Will it pair well with Audiolab 6000A?
I sent 6000a to another reviewer it is mine i will habe it back soon and i will let you know 1st thing but the 6000a didn't match well with my q100s but 350s are a different Animal ! Budget Beast !
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thank you Tee-Jay. I will wait for your review on 6000A with Q350. I own the Audiolab 6000A and Marantz PM6007 integrated amplifiers. I am looking for a budget Speaker that will match well with both 6000A and PM6007. I have a strong feeling that it should match well with my Marantz PM6007, but I am not confident if the 6000A will be a good match for Q350. Hence I am very much interested to know your opinion on 6000A + Q350 combination. If it works well, then I will purchase the KEF Q350. At the moment, I have paired it with Fyne Audio F-302 floor standing speakers and according to me it works well.
