Chaplin leaves me cold. I don't find anything he did, in the least bit funny.
Laurel and Hardy, are the finest comic actors ever.

Yes, probably true. But Chaplin was a whole other type of artist, pioneer, visionary--and social activist. The activist Chaplin placed him in that space to be attacked. About art. When one is deeply engaged in their creation of art, one cares about it like a baby. Some artists can balance that, others not so much. Also take into account the movie business is bloody hard work, add to that the presence of some real a...and scumbags. Stan Laurel was also a focused artist, and probably let Oliver go play golf so he could get him out of the way to make a production just the way he wanted it. Seems he and Hal Roach got into it. I saw a Michael Jackson interview, and he said basically the same thing about making art; he also pleaded to fans, don't believe all you read or see about "celebrities." Anyway, great RUclips.

Thanks for your thoughts on this, this is an older video I did, trying to recap on it. For me they were the greatest artist of there time. What people think is up to them, reports and news is normally false, I aways find it interesting what they have to say. You can't really judge famous artists if you didn't know them. I just love them for who they were and still are to so many of us today. 😊
