Thanks for sharing this information. I try to store my amaryllis bulbs over the winter too but have never taken them outside in the spring. Will definitely be trying that this year in hopes of better success! Great idea.
@@bloomsbyamelie I've been told it is the size of the bulb and my experience is that it's the single bloomers but just this year I had a single bloom again. When they don't bloom, I enjoy the leaves and still repeat the process.
Hi Amelia, glad I saw this it will my first year in holding onto my Christmas bulbs but I noticed it looks like the ones you had towards the end didn't have any leaves, do you cut the leaves and the the stalk when done blooming? Thanks
Yes I cut the stalk after the plant is done blooming. I only cut the leaves if they yellowed and are dropping. If the leaves look healthy and green-I leave them on and plant them out like that. In the early fall when I bring them in I cut everything off.
I have to admit, i've never had an amaryllis, i've looked at them often, but haven't purchased any yet. Another plant to add to the wish list. Wink wink Very informative video, enjoyed it very much. Loved what you were wearing also!
