Great vids! New to the MR2 community, where can I get one those custom weighted gear knobs. Looked all over for the Allan custom one but cannot trace one.
HEY!!! I had a big question and it seems your the only person to answer my question I recently got my mr2 and I been wanting a body kit for it and I see you bought a body kit from lp luxury parts would you consider this website a trusted website to buy a body kit from ?
Get a hard top! A standalone would be a good idea, but expensive and a big rework for you. You could sell a lot of the extra systems you have though. If you combine an ecu with a HUD it will simplify your gauges/wiring a lot. I like my EMS4 but I wish I would have gone with something newer. I have an 8" widows tablet for all my gauges where the radio normally goes, but aem's gauge display through the tuning software is pretty weak compared to other offerings. Not exactly what I imagined, but it's workable for now and neat that it looks stealthy without gauge pods. With a decent standalone you can get rid of your traction control box, thermo switch for intercooler, boost controller, and gauges. All of that can be done with a modern standalone + HUD. There's a really neat unit by fuel tech where the HUD is also the ECU but it's more for drag cars and expensive. I really think that's the future though because it simplifies everything and puts it in one spot.
@@SpyderLEE Hard top truly makes it a whole new car, I promise! I dunno if you saw but I finally got mine on the road. First try with virtual dyno showed 279whp and 239ft-lbs. Great work on this little car. What are the numbers now, after the turbo upgrade? Also i would like to ask you what material did you for the front splitter and the rear difusser, and where did you got it from? I live in Jersey C.I. and shops are very limited and basic products here.

ok, I haven't watch this video ruclips.net/video/37rranhjPek/видео.html before. This build is amazing. I am curious how much bhp did the old 1ZZ with stock internals.
It’s still on stock internals dude. I changed my mind with the build engine and sold it. Making somewhere around 270bhp I think. Need to get it back in a rr
@@SpyderLEE thank you for your answer and your videos which are indeed very interesting and helpful to all of us lovers of the MR2 Spyder. I am a very happy owner of a 2001 model year MR2 Spyder which I am currently upgrading with a T3/T4 based turbo kit. Having 270 bhp from a Td04 is pretty amazing, may I ask how much boost are you in for achieving this amount of power?
@@SpyderLEE my tuner says that 1.2 bar ( so 17.4 psi) is the absolute limit before blowing up the engine and 0.9 bar ( that is 13 psi ) it's the absolute safe limit in stock internals. So i am not amazed at all that your engine is reliable since you did all the essentials ( new radiator, quality chargecooler etc) to keep the engine as safe as possible in stock internals. So no more updates?
Damn she's fine! How come you want to change to a standalone ECU? Do you have any problems with the stock ECU trying to correct the emanage tune? I keep reading conflicting info on forums about it. Would you still recommend it? Isn't it dangereous to use water in the intercooler? if it has a leak, the water will go inside the engine won't it? Thanks SpyderLee. Cheers From Portugal Fan.
Alex Vicente cheers dude, charge coolers are much more efficient than intercoolers, I would recommend them every time. Especially in a mid engined car where the air flow is minimal. Mine is just a generic eBay one. But I use a avt twin pass radiator. I forgot to mention that bit in the vid
@@SpyderLEE Thanks man that helped!! I measured i can fit that one aswell in mine, but i have a question, does your avt twin pass radiator, comes with an pressure Cap? If the water expands?
