- Originally a Livesteam from Tom's studio, where he does a walkthrough of the process of doing a movie/TV parody for MAD magazine (Note: Sorry the audio slowly goes out of sync during the video)
I love the tribute at the end to Mort that you didn't know you were giving at the time. He was the best and you're not far behind.
Great, thank you for sharing your time, talent and skills.
Tom is the best! Always willing to share and takes away from his busy schedule to inspire and teach others.
18:15 love the genuine "Dad" moment…
9/17/23 Viewing and learning; loved it!
Blessings to your family, Tom. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks so much for doing this. Please, never stop doing physical inks and art. BTW, I loved seeing those pencils for the Mike & Molly parody. Made me wanna ink ‘em SO much. 😃
Thank you Tom for sharing your process, would love to see more of these videos. Will definitely be watching for the kickstarter !!! 🙂👍
Those movie caricatures are insane.
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to make this video! I absolutely love all your work and respect your willingness to share information that you had to learn the long and hard way. Blessings to you and your wonderful family. Thanks again for all you do! It is much appreciated!
Thank you for sharing the process. Incredible talent!
Great talented ability you have, much respect and awe inspiring.
Wow! Amazing...so prolific and wonderful! inspiring!
The keystone caricature part is really, really interesting insight. It reminds me of keyframes and in-betweens in animation.
I love MAD magazine and the TV and movie parodies it features. I like to make my own home-made parodies of movies, etc. on my laptop PC and sometimes in a traditional sketchbook. My most recent TV parody idea that keeps popping up in my mind is Cobra Kai. My parody title... "Cobra Cry"!
hi tom, thank you for sharing this videos
I got yiur book it is awsome i love it , i love the teckniques !
Tom Please, Please do some more sketches like you did for Morena Baccarin and Claire Danes where you have a picture next to you drawing them. I can watch those all day. I love watching an artist work. Making something out of nothing is amazing. Please do this. Also when is your updated book coming out? You said sometime ago you might update your book and add more pages, I would love to see these things happen. Thanks
Tom I’m watching your process on a parody, but one question (for now), is it possible to tell me the type/wattage/brand light bulb you have installed under your light table glass? I basically did the same thing to my drawing board but I just can’t achieve the transparency through the Strathmore 500 series paper like you do! I’ve been using a spot lamp clamped underneath the glass.
im love mad
Do you ever consider blue lining the pages and that way you could print directly on the board?
