@Patchysouls That's wrong because they just slap capes onto whoever they want. Nobody is confusing a Tiandi for a Lawbringer because they gave him a cape.
When it comes to covert clothes I’ve always thought a hood makes you more suspicious to anyone your trying to hide from, a cloak to hide weapons I understand because you might be trying to keep your clothes or armor in good condition but if I was a guard I would be a little bit cautious around someone intentionally hiding their face
This is a very good point that is often overlooked. The most covert option in clothing is what will making you blend in the most with the general populace. Fortunately enough for Peacekeeper, hoods were a fashion item for most of the Medieval Period and even up into the Renaissance period.
I'm surprised you didnt talk more about wearing hoods. Skallagrim has done a great video on how diffficult it is to fight with a hood, namely how much it restricts your senses. But this game is fantasy and like all fantasy, the small rogue like character must wear a hood. Probably spend all of her time brooding in the corner of taverns too
Hey man I’ve seen some other guys do hero ranks based on historical accuracy and how well they would actually do in there era and I feel like you might be able to give a good history lesson on them
I've considered this, but I feel like those videos tend to look at the idea too broadly (which I have nothing against for them to do those videos, it's their channel they can do whatever they want). For example, what are we ranking each off of? Their default armor options? Their fighting style? Their ability on a battlefield? Their ability in a duel? Each one of those things hold different weight and would have different rankings throughout the roster. Sure if I wanted to be really vague I could make a list of who would "generally win in a fight" and act all shocked and surprised when I say Lawbringer at the end, but I don't feel that it is substantive for me or the community. The short answer; I might if I can figure out a version that is actually interesting and brings something new to the table.
@@GoGoDani You know, something I haven’t seen done is comparing the heroes with their equipment being “the best of the best.” When you get through more of these, you could probably go through each faction or the whole roster and compare each one with what you believe to be the best armor they could potentially have.
I think the massive issue is that Ubi just wants to throw mud, rust and spikes onto everything rather than give anything any real character, likely because it's a lot cheaper that way. Thinking about it, it would be better if they went with what I call the 4 Character Tree. You effectively have 4 armor sets with alternate sets that are about different things. In the case of PK, it would work like this Set 1: Civilian Disguise with her face exposed and the alternate being a hood Set 2: Venetian Disguise with masks and again hood Set 3: Infantry armor with helmets like a Sallet along with gambeson and chainmail alternates Set 4: Full infantry protection with great helms, plate harnesses and jack o'plates as alternates
I did Google the ponytail hood thing, and I really wasn't ready! I burst in laugh when I discovered what it is all about, and yeah, for you own sake, do not Google it! 😂
Even with the black armors it wouldn't do what you need. You don't want black you want a multitude of blacks and grays to obscure your outline. Same as if your in the woods. You don't want green or brown you want splotches and the like.
I always thought Peacekeeper was a really cool example of a fully armored rogue because I never really looked with any more depth at her armor or helms and I'm going to continue to choose to believe that because it's just a cool concept
One thing I always like to suggest is giving PK the old Knight minion armor. The helmet is relatively hood shaped so I don’t think it’d interfere with her ornaments that much. Since Ubi’s gonna be reusing assets for the foreseeable future, why don’t they give her a full scale or mail texture on her dress/tunic like they did with Conq?! What infuriates me though, is that the new Horkos armor she got this season is the only one that gives her metal gloves/gauntlets but guess what???? THERE’S FLIPPING GOLD SPIKES ON IT!!!
Fucking spikes. Why do they put them everywhere? Is having a clean metal armor considered not cool these days? I know it's a fantasy setting but ffs not everyone's fantasy contains spikes on wooden armor like orochi ones
Surprisingly, I know a neat trick to keep your hood on while doing some extreme activities like running, parkour, and fighting. You need a Beanie and a Baby Pin. Connect the Beanie under the hood. Then slip in a Baby Pin to keep them together. And voila, a hood that never falls unless actually pulled.
Peacekeeper was so fucking cool at launch because even though it was obvious it was an assassin's creed expy she helped give the knights a more sinister feeling. its cool to imagine with the weeping effigy helm its what she would have under her helmet and she simply didnt have enough time or lost her helmet before she could put it on
My personal imagining of the set is to be something covert and not overt. She is there spying on a rogue camp or fortress not in the battlefield but behind the lines.
