  • This is an amazing update with April 2023 version of Power B I desktop. Which is the ability to add dynamic format string into your Power Bi visuals. Before that, it was possible with Tabular editor, but you may not be able to use that external tool.
In this video, I am presenting how you can use this new feature with your DAX tricks to take the Power Bi visuals to the next levels.

Could you explain more the 4 quotation marks, please?

that is used to convert the output as string literals. in a dynamic datatype, sometimes the DAX code with format function does not return the output in a proper text format. above addition will solve that issue. We have explained it in our other videos as well

Very cool! thank you, one question, I tried to add unichar(10) to drop a line with no luck...any idea why?

Thanks for the feedback. i think unichar(10) will not work for data labels directly same as it worked for triangles in this demo or any other icon's code.

Any issues when publishing online? I am using a UNICHAR code within a data label. It works within desktop, but converts back to code when published online. Please help if you know a solution! 🙏
This is only a problem with custom data label (e.g., card visual works fine). Not sure why.

I have also experienced this issue with custom data label, i thought it is some bug, and would be fixed with next releases.
