update: i made this earlier and my mom loved it thank you very much for the recipe ♡ if it's something my mom didn't expect it's savoury corn lol (she usually boils corn w/ adding a few tbsp of sugar haha)

no i don't think so! it is okay if you like the flavor of the soy sauce!

Japanese rice is white rice. Yes you can use white rice. And I think this works perfect with other kind, too.
