- Ed Sheeran chose to cover Hailee Steinfeld and Grey's 'Starving' because he "just really likes it".
Classing it as a really great "pop song" and instantly knew he wanted to cover it.
Even if he did it totally off the cuff! And yet it still sounds as good as this!
This did, however, lead to Ed Sheeran agreeing to become a corny DJ at Roman and Hailee's prom.

This is why I love Ed Sheeran. I don't care if it's "weak" in places or unpolished- it's a spontaneous cover and it's awesome. The way he can just... focus and pull something like that out of a hat is pure talent.

Using a looper isn't hard at all and i'm saying this as a musician. Don't get me wrong i think he did a great job at this song but believe me, it's not harder to use the looper than playing the guitar

I am just so fascinated by how he does all the background stuff and the looping and singing and playing guitar all at the same time, and quite literally creates the song from scratch as we watch.
For me it's this kind of performance that really shows his talent. Songs from his albums and his tours, he'll have practiced them a thousand times. This is a song he's just decided he wants to cover for a one-off performance. He's put together a wicked loop arrangement, not had time to rehearse it properly (he's been everywhere the last couple months, I'm not sure how he has time to breathe!), but has the ability to still pull it off. I perform with a loop pedal myself, and when I'm under-rehearsed it generally goes tits up quite quickly.

He's so talented 😍 That's why I love him. He doesn't lip sync or use tons of auto tune. He produces his own music and really sings. He is one of the only singers who actually sings. Nowadays You go to concerts and they lip sync and you can tell. Ed however does not( from what I have seen) and that's why I love him 💕

ROPEY REALLY ED?? I was absolutely captivated and grinning ear to ear with this performance!! Frankly I don't exactly fancy Ed's style of music (most of it) but that's only because I prefer other genres but his artistry is something I ALWAYS look up to and I can always appreciate.
