Hey everyone! Marco here! Thank you again to Gear Seekers for taking another look at one of our NAS devices! We saw Gear Seekers at Computex and caught them peeking and seeking at the Flashstor series and offered to send them one for a review! We love all types of feedback on our products, whether they may be comments, questions, criticism and of course, praise! Feel free to reply to us and I will get back to you with an answer! Thank you again and thank you Gear Seekers!

Good. Can you please take note of the comment I just posted a short while ago (@JerrySuppan) and provide some advice? Thanks.

@@tokyojerry Hi there. It would really help me if you could repost the comment here because I don't have Ctrl-F capabilities on the RUclips for Android app and that posting here can help people when they visit the video and see the comments and answers in an easy-to-view thread.

@@ASUSTOR_YT Sure. Here is my comment/ inquiry with regard to Flashstor FS6706T.
" I have a 4TB x4 RAID5 already installed. I decided to add two more SSDs and create a new RAID0 (striped) volume. The Volume creates and displays good in Storage Manager. HOWEVER, in File Explorer the new Volume2 does not display. Why? "

@@tokyojerry Ah that's really easy. I've actually spoken to the boss about this issue already and it's in the works. You're supposed to go to Access Control and set up a shared folder on Volume 2. About three weeks ago, I asked the boss to add a popup when creating a volume to remind customers that a shared folder must be created as I thought this might help people. Looks like I am right.

2:13 We used the USB port because it's perfect. It is durable, it slides in and out effortlessly and PWM is also four pins. It just works. It's completely passive.

Is it possible to replace the fan yourself with a quieter and more expensive one? Noctua/BeQuiet or other.
What size and voltage is suitable?

    • @ASUSTOR_YT
      @ASUSTOR_YT 8 месяцев назад

@@DNKR88 Hi there! It's an R128010BU 80 mm fan with a 10 mm thickness. 12 V and 0.35A. I am very much aware that Noctua has quite the reputation but we do use industrial-grade fans to try to get the maximum amount of both cooling and silence. We're not aware of any fans from Noctua or BeQuiet that are able to satisfy the requirements. We won't stop you though.

Yep. It's me. Thank you for your words! Business is business though and I hold myself to a high standard that I believe even Gamers Nexus would approve of. I never interfere with the editorial direction or tell the youtuber what to say. My promise is to do right by the customer and fix any and all problems that surface.

They need to address the overheat issue, cpu idle at 70c, 100c under load, SSD 60c idle and 70c under load. The unit won't last long, NVMEs started to die one by one after a few months due to heat and design flaw.

  • @HippocratesGarden

What about power consumption, especially if just at idle? Could be important for off-grid people, Vanlife etc.

NVMe is still not cheap enough for home user NAS. Especially the high TBW drives. Cool product though.

Tests show that a 2TB consumer-grade SSD can last more than 10 years with moderate recording. I doubt anyone is capable of rewriting a disc every day.
The KC3000 1TB test has not yet completed. The manufacturer specifies 800TBW. The disc has already been rewritten 1300 times. And it still works.

I would prefer 6 drives or less, with better transfer rates. Smaller device, less heat. And a rectangular, simple design, please.

Well what was your connection? Sister advertises over 1,000 Mbps write with a raid 5 and 10gbe network. No review I’ve seen can get this number. No one seems to even care on how to get this number. Asustor will not give the exact details on how they got those numbers. So something seems really shady in my opinion. Someone should easily be able to get 1,000 if it’s advertised. The only thing they say is that it’s in raid 5. Shady information.
