I can tell you from the league’s standpoint, this was such a hard decision to make! We have amazing broadcast partners in Canada who are helping ensure both sustainability and growth for our league, which I think we all want. By making livestreams available in the US, as well as internationally, we can continue to attract new fans while also honoring the relationship with those partners. We understand this isn't the outcome some of our Canadian fans are seeking, but we're thankful for their passion and continued support by showing our partners the love and fandom that exists for this league.
@@thepwhlofficial We're not showing your partners love, we're just not watching now. If we weren't able to afford those streaming services before, what makes you think we would suddenly be able to? Besides, what about people outside of North America? There's an entire world of hockey players who need to see this kind of representation.
@@fayepolson5906 anyone outside canada can watch the streams on youtube and twitch. anyone in canada can use a free vpn to gain access to the streams, or use some other type of service to watch the game without paying for cbc, tsn, rds, or prime video. tv rights ultimately allow the players to get played. there are free methods that enable you to watch
Yeah, for me it comes down do this: overall I feel us Canadians have done a good job helping support the league. From founding partners, to attendance, and so on. And then we are the only ones basically who are forced to pay. Ie we are being punished because we have good support. Thats not right. I love the league, I want it to succeed. Truly. If it was everyone has to pay, I would get it. But this doesnt feel right or fair
Welp, it was fun while it lasted for the EU people. All the best to the womens hockey and till we see again! Apparently its on twitch but no1 thought about making a post about it?? If the games are there for future its ok.
It kind of sounded like Canadian games aren't going to be live on RUclips anymore. They will have those games live on TSN or CBC and then RUclips will get the VOD.
All this was so fun to watch on RUclips and now it’s taken away from us and you can only experience a game a couple of days after. It kinda sours the experience.
Pitching in what everyone is saying here. Can we get some information about future streaming on RUclips? I live in California, and work when the games are on. Can’t watch it on twitch at all, can’t even record it . Plus even if I do pull it up on my phone, I can’t pause and rewind should I need to pivot to work for a few minutes. I love this league and have been watching since day 1, but this sudden change away from RUclips is not great imho, especially as the league is still growing.
I have the same problem bc I work nights and RUclips makes it way easier to watch when at work or after if I’m too busy during my shift. Really hope this isn’t their plan for the rest of the season
If you think you’ll maintain this fanbase, you won’t. Sure, you got money from a cable deal because your league is growing. When you lose half of your viewership, do you think cable will want to sign you another deal? Will it be worth as much? I have been supporting since day one, and you’ve lost me until you use common sense and put it back on RUclips. I have jerseys, been to many games including the home opener this year, but I can’t follow your league with its garbage decision making. As much as I want to support you, this makes it impossible.
You’re losing fanbase before you’re even established. Not everyone wants or can afford cable. Do you want to kill the league before it takes off? This is supposed to be an innovative league. Why are you making the same mistakes as the NHL, who have lost over half of their viewership since 2010.
For those who don't know they've been broadcasting on Twitch so if it's not live on youtube check there!
I WAS THERE!!!
MPP's goal at 34:50 is absolutely NASTY. What a play!
why arent the livestreams available in canada anymore?
Because they have a TV rights deal for the Canadian market so we have to pay.

Really regretting buying my Victoire sweater now that I can’t watch the games :(
Are you in Canada?

Was this not live lastnight? tried to find it
Yes TSN had it on last night

If you're in Canada, it was on TSN. If you aren't, it was on the PWHL website.
It was live on Twitch if you were outside the Canadian market. They also embedded it on the home page of their website

Will the streams be back on RUclips instead of Twitch? Twitch is not accessible for us.

Totally! I used to watch NHL games religiously until they made it hard. Now I haven't seen an NHL game in more than a decade.
they consider going the route of victory+, have a dedicated app, making money off ads, don't isolate anyone
